I would have loved to be at this event.
That Monaco Blue Viva Gt at 0:26 is a dead ringer for my old car before I modified it - because that's what we did back then.
I had a Monaco Blue GT (VLT 481G) when I was an apprentice at the GM Stag Lane Kingsbury London plant from 1972 to 1976. Mine even had the same front wing mounted conical mirrors - couldn't see anything out of them but they looked good!!
I modified my GT quite a bit - front chin spoiler flared into the body, Blydenstein stage 2 head, tubular exhaust manifold, 2 x 45 Webers, negative camber front wish bones, Disc brake upgrade, Spax adjustable shocks all round, Wolfrace Alloy wheels & Thrush straight through side exhausts which made it sound like Thunder from 1/2 a mile away. Last year I went to the British Motor Museum at Gaydon & they had a Red Viva GT on display. Took me right back to my apprentice days at GM. The GT is a very rare car now.

Great video! I still have a photo of me beside my Dad’s Vauxhall Viva GT, VYY 650G in July 1971. He had to sell it very,very reluctantly as he was about to get a new company car. August 1st and a new Ford Cortina 2000 GXL appeared outside the house, followed three years later by a signal orange 2000E. Happy days!
