- Thank y'all for being patient while I wrapped up digital learning and took some time away creating portraits. I am so happy to bring you guys in on that process, share some books I've been loving, some books I hope my students will love, and answer your questions about everything from outschool to grade levels. Love y'all, mean it!

Omg loved the shout out at the beginning - you are the cutest! 😂 Loving all the yellow in this vlog, the digital pic of your sis (omg how stinking cute is she?), the fact that you’re doing a book study with your school, and all your new books! Such a fun vlog!!
I love that fact that you keep educating yourself on black culture/racism in an educational setting! We stan an educated queen!
Summer vlogs!! I just love watching how sunny and happy you are. I know that isn’t always the case but I really appreciate that you try your hardest. You are joy to watch.
Love, love that you buy books in Spanish to help students in their first language! 💖 Thank you! I am sure your students really appreciate that you value their first language.
I always love your videos because you seem very genuine and enthusiastic ☺️ stumbled across your channel last year, and have loved your content ever since! 🍎
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on being prepared and still learning as a new teacher! It’s refreshing to see the transparency! I totally agree it’s hard to find grace for yourself but I pray you do give yourself grace as you continue your career. As a veteran Special Education teacher with over 20 years of experience I still try to give myself grace when it comes to what I can and cannot do as a teacher trying to ensure I reach and move all my scholars. Have a great summer and a great school year!
I have absolutely loved following your journey since the very beginning. Your dedication and passion are so inspiring and motivating. I would love to continue to see videos over summer..no matter what they’re about! 🥰
I love and admire how much effort you put into being a life-long learner, that's so important! I have been doing some research on the school to prison pipeline and would love to hear what books about it you will be reading this summer.
rush_ I just started “Pushout” by Monique Morris!
I love to see summer videos! I loved your 1st year 1st grade teacher videos, so I am so glad I get to see your second year!
You're the best. Love your enthusiasm.
Adorable earring!!! I love that you are organizing a book study at your school with the staff. That is incredible! Goals! 🤩
You’re such a great teacher gathering books that are in Spanish 💛 love that!
I have missed your vlogs. So yes I would like something during the summer.
I sure hope we see summer content from you! I'm not a teacher but appreciate that you said you didn't want to play into the competitiveness. I would just love to see day or week in the life vlogs or just whatever you enjoy doing outside of school. That's fun too!
Yayyyy! Love the artwork it makes my art teacher heart so happy. You’re the cutest! 💕💕🌼
😂😂😂! Your intro! Congrats on finishing your first year!✨💓
Love watching your channel and each of your videos you post. I also love the earrings that you got from elementary in the mitten. Both of your channels get me excited to become a teacher in a few years.
It was great listening to your Q and A! I just love your positiveness and honesty :)
I feel your anxiety as a new teacher, but I think the thing to remember is the new/young teachers bring a lot to the table that more experienced teachers don't - enthusiasm, energy, a more open mind, new techniques/technologies, etc.
I love how positive you are!!
Thank you for donating to the cause, #blacklivesmatter! Good to a video!
Yayyyy! I get so excited when I see an upload from you.
I feel the same way about feeling guilty for not being an expert teacher. I’m going into my 7th year, and I still feel that it’s not fair to the kids when I have areas to grow in. But, we are always going to feel like we need to improve in a certain area. God placed those kids in your classroom for a reason. You are what they need. ❤️
P.S. Obsessed with those earrings!
Thank you! Glad I'm not alone in those feelings. I tell myself that at the end of the day we were placed in the classroom together for a reason, and just keep chugging along with 100% dedication to improving in the areas I need to. The earrings are from amazon - get you some!!
Summer content suggestion: I’d love some book talk. What you’ve read (e.g. this book says [specific fact or feeling]) and how you plan to implement it your classroom (e.g. I read last summer “Designing Groupwork” and know that complex instruction has been shown to help low-status students participate and flourish in the classroom, so I planned to use the principles therein to design groupwork for my students to help provide more equitable instruction.)
Yay so glad your back! Currently studying to get my teaching certification and have been LOVING watching your teaching journey! big love from Texas!
Thank you, Abbey! You and I will be studying for certification together. Yay!
I love the videos, and the more I watch the more I notice we have in common.
I turn 25 in September as well, I'll be starting year 3 of teaching in January, I'm a transplant from Arizona to Louisiana, and I completely understand the feeling of longing for home while still being content in the area you're in.
Love your channel so much!! I graduated in early years and did a masters in child psychology so I really relate to you! Your self confidence and personality actually inspired me to start my own UA-cam channel , so I thank you so much Lauren :)
Thank you! That's amazing - congratulations on your own channel 💖
Those lemon earrings are so cute! Those digital portraits look like they take so much time, you have so much patience.
I love your channel and your energy 😍 I’m student teaching this year and can’t wait!
I’m not a teacher but I absolutely love your personality and watch all your videos just for that! I would 100% love videos even if they had nothing at all to do with teaching!
Hello to Abbie from a fellow ZTA!!
🥳🥳🥳 cheers to year 1 in the books! It sure has been an interesting one huh?!?....glad to see another one of your videos, and happy to hear you still want to put out content!🥰
Maybe a home tour, a day in the life of a teacher during summer, makeup routines, outfits, etc.
It’s important to enjoy time off, I found myself thinking also of things to do differently, but that would consume a lot so I’m leaving it in Gods hands and the timing will come to prepare. Until then, I’m enjoying my furbabies, catching up on missed movies/shows and sleeping when I choose ☺️🙌🏼
Take care Lauren 💝
Loved the book haul and Q&A! Enjoy your summer!
Learning at the Primary Pond fills in the gaps/holes of Making Meaning and Being a Writer and aligns with that curriculum really well!🤓👍🏼
Yay, for summer vlogs! Love you, cutie!
Love the doorbell holder idea!
Congratulations on completing your first year!! I just finished my first year as well in Pre-k!! You mentioned that you plan on diving into your curriculum to be more fitting toward your students and the gaps that can be filled with different instruction strategies. Can you make a video explaining some of the strategies and ways that you feel would be beneficial for instruction ?? Thank you! 🥰
Im not a teacher but I've been thinking of going back to college to become one. Mom of 4 boys here! Love the book hauls ❤ I already ordered a lot of books from scholastic, might order a few more 🙈😂
Those scholastic orders are surely addictive! That is such an exciting decision - you got this 😍
Thank you for another great video!! I've been following your vlog since the beginning and you are truly inspiring. I teach in florida and will be moving to 1st grade this year! Please keep making summer videos!!
Loved this vlog! I have been eating those exact potstickers for FOREVER! They are so good! When I was in college I would eat them weekly! Sometimes 2x a week! They are my favorite!! I’m just over here so excited that you eat the same food as me 😭🤦🏼♀️
im 24 too and just ended my first year teaching! I will be 25 in September as well :)
I would love to hear more about your process to dig deeper into curriculum. How do you go about planning meaningful activities?
Loved watching this long awaited video!
Congratulations! I have been watching since the beginning. I am excited to see you continue to grow and learn. I am a 5th year teacher 😊
Congratulations on finishing your first year of teaching and going into year two! Also, I love your earrings, they are so cute 😊
The color of us by karen Katz is also a great discussion starter...I teach pre k and my kids love it.
Loved the video. The spider attack was hilarious!😂
You did mention in your Outschool video a few weeks ago that you were 24. I was listening! ❤️
As a 2nd year teacher :) I really enjoy your videos. You could always do some reading vlogs/book review videos.
I love your videos! Please continue 😀
Congrats on year 1!!!🎉🥳 It’s been a joy following you from day 1. Your energy is amazing!
Do you mind sharing what prep course you took for the SEI MTELs?
Hey Lauren! Children's librarian here!! I love that you're trying to add book books that represent your students. If you're looking for recommendations, I love Sofia Valdez, Future Prez (The Questioneers) and all The Questioneers books, Sulwe, Round is a Tortilla, Planting Stories: The Life of Librarian and Storyteller Pura Belpre, Turning Pages: My Life Story by Sonia Sotomayor, Nian, The Chinese New Year Dragon, and just for a really cute story, Piney the Goat Nanny. Have you ever read Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire? It's great for teachers/educators looking to build better classroom environments. Happy summer and congrats on being a 2nd year teacher!!!
Stopped everything to watch this 😊 🙌🏽
Congratulations on completing your first year.
Congrats on finishing your first year!
Love this video! 💜 I also have the same reaction to seeing a spider so I am glad to see I am not alone!
I've been waiting for this all day!
Eeek - sorry to keep you waiting!! Thank you for being here. (:
OBSESSED WITH THE EARRINGS YES 😍😍😍

I just ordered that book!! let me know if you like it!
Would you share some clips of how you use your doorbell in the classroom please!
You are truly sooo amazing!!!! The summer reading book club you are doing for your staff is awesome.... I would love to read this book.... Could I join you some how? Oh, P.S. I love Ezra Jack Keats...... ❤️
I just love you! #Fromteachertoteacher
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
This made my day!
I’m from England and have been teaching for 23 years. I love it, I’ve taught all the year groups from age 4 to age 11 (Primary) and I’m always improving and trying new things with my classes. Where did you live in England?
Oh My Goodness Gracious! I already love your sister, I am Zeta too!!! When I saw this I was like ZLAM!!!!
I sent her this comment and her response was “ZLAM BBYYY!!!” 😂💖
Love your videos always.. just wanna ask what app you used to create digital portrait.
What’s the name of the sunnies you’re wearing...suuper cute!
Love your lemon earrings!! Where did you get them?!
They're from amazon! I linked them here: www.amazon.com/shop/puttingthemfirst?listId=LCR9Y4FC6PA7
This might be a dumb question but... I am beginning my first year of first grade this August and during your Q&A you said you wish you had familiarized yourself with the curriculum better. How exactly do you familiarize yourself with all of that? I just got all of my curricula and it seems so overwhelming to go through and look at everything. What's a good strategy to tackle all of this and actually retain the information? There are 11 first grade teachers on my team so I will have a lot of support but obviously I want to come in as prepared as possible!
I love your earrings.... 😍 I have missed your sweet happy face..... ❤️
Congratulations🎉🎊! In September I will be the first year as a math teacher🍎📚. The closer autumn is, the more fearful it becomes🤦♀️. What do you do with nerves💆♀️ and stress😲?
I felt the same way last summer before my first weeks in my own classroom. I handled it by doing a crazy amount of reading and preparation! Lol
Thank's a lot! Its feels better, that responsibale teacher feel the same.
Yesterday I seen one of the students that I student taught and he waved at in my front yard and I waved back to him.
i hate that we're the same age because you seem so much older than me hahha like is my life supposed to be this put together ...oh lord
Congratulations Lauren love your videos I am a first grade teacher in California and I love meeting new educators and getting different ideas to implement in my classroom to engage my kiddos in their learning . These is my fifth year and begging of my sixth year. Hope to meet you someday and becoming amazing friends you can follow me on my UA-cam channel at the Creative Catechist were I do teaching vlogs and more and also on Instagram at mi_amada_magnetomercurio
Please don’t base your likes and dislike of Massachusetts on Western Mass!! It is so different from all other areas. I promise! Western Mass should be it’s own separate country lol
So, fun fact, the girl she ran home to is the daughter of a friend. 😊
OMG small world! That’s her sweet “big” (that I get occasionally irrationally jealous of because I’m her big sister). 😂🤗
