I have a tiny version of this, its called a Rotron Spiral Exhauster. It's about 3 or so inches across. This design is also used on older style washing machine drain pumps.
what do you think would happen if you attached the exhaust of one of these to the end of a blocked/collapsed drainage pipe? i see pvc attachments for these so i'm wondering if the pipe actually might not explode. i have a hunch that in an ideal situation i might be able to use a smoke candle with one of these to find a break in the pipe and where the pipe's outlet is if it's not broken.
I’ve got one similar to yours. It’s single phase but only says 220v. No wiring diagram. You wouldn’t have any idea on how to wire it would you? I can’t find much info on it.
Ryan Avery a dust collection system needs to produce high velocity at big (4"+) openings to work well, requiring massive CFM. The pressure doesn't need to be higher than 10 to 20 inches of water column. This machine wouldn't be a good choice for that application.
I wonder if I could use it to vacuum water as recovery for a pressure washer. I have a positive displacement vacuum pump from Gardner Denver but is loud. I want another option like this one

If I want more vacuum at low flow rates making it spin at higher RPM with a VFD would work?
I paused and counted, there are 44 blades.

Could this be used in a woodworking shop to power a dust collection system?
