Good practice to take a 15 minute break after every 2 hours of driving. Get out of the car, strtech your legs, back, arms, check your phone and take a short walk. Coffee is a good drink to keep you alert. If you feel sleepy then pull over and have a short nap.

I think you don't know what is "GT Road". You were travelling on "National Highway". GT Road goes from Lahore (starts from Dhaka and/or India) to Peshawer.

Nowadays - Roads are destroyed and by road travel time is gone from 14 hours to 20 hours. Check first from someone who has recently traveled. Don't take risks.

Haha - No, actually anyone can travel on a budget. There are many ways to go via Daewoo and stay in budget hotels. Obviously, nowadays prices are hiked and things are costly. Travel cost is also there. Let's hope that we have better days in Pakistan in the future.
