It just gets better when Molly spreads her lips and puts out the "Strutters Ball" in this case but almost anything from "LAY me down a pallet... and I don't know the words todescribe everything I've heard, but I just appreciate you so much, sister.
Sounds great! Lovely ladies too!
Great Band. Great musicians!

As the same Japanese, so proud to see Haruka on the trombone in this great band! Any schedule for these great ladies to tour to Japan?

'The Darktown Strutters Ball', composed in 1915 by Shelton Brooks.
In his novel Nausea, Jean-Paul Sartre imagined that Shelton Brooks was Jewish, writing music in a sweltering New York City walk-up. He had no idea that Brooks was a black Canadian.
What I find equally surprising is that Shelton Brooks had such a long life that he was still with us 37 years after Sartre wrote that novel.
Nice research. What's almost as surprising is that Darktown has survived into this age, and a straight-ahead jazz version was issued two years ago. BTW, I much enjoyed your blog post on the Shake "Em Up Jazz Band.

Thanks, Gordon. I think it has survived because it is a good tune and also because it is also easy to play, with a simple chord structure to improvise on. I like the unusually gentle tempo at which Molly beats it in. Many bands play it a good deal faster.
funny how different the comments are for a womens' band from a mens. All the comments about how they look...
Dizzy!!! Dizzy!!! Dizzy!!! ✨🎶🤘😍🤘🎶✨ Dizzy!!! Dizzy!!! Dizzy!!!
Chloe ....

Dyamm - Dizzy's lips are to die for!!!!
Molly ne cache pas ses jolis yeux ...
Dizzy makes me dizzy!
I love the way that Molly bends the rhythm of this song to make it her own. Well done!!
