You know I like to assign supplemental readings, so here is a link to a good Atlantic Monthly article about fraternities. Personally, I find the term “Greek life” to be Orwellian, as it is just a term that renames “binge drinking and doing other hedonistic and immature things” into something that sounds acceptable. And, honestly, if anyone really thought about it, “Greek life” would be talking about philosophy and then hitting on 14-year-old boys. (Plato’s book, Symposium, is worth a read just to see the philosophers in it say things like, “Before I start my monologue on this complex philosophical issue, I’d like to say some words on how great it is to be with a teenage boy.” Yikes. Like they couldn’t edit that out? Anyway, maybe if someone told those frat boys this they’d stop using the term “Greek life.” I digress...). Here is the link.

Yeah, I've never been a big Fraternity fan. They don't do a very good job teaching empathy.
