@@oliwidaroli4867 Close, but Winter City is Vienna, Austria. They speak German there. I may as well plug my own video at this point: ua-cam.com/video/yYDWAF_hoJE/v-deo.html
I said this before on Reddit once. The large lake at the USA region Feels somewhat familiar to me, but I trUly Can't seem to Know what it is exactlY. It needs tO be foUnd. I lOved how Most of these satellite images can NIcely blend very GreatLy sometImes Tbh, especially the alpine mountain. Cool as Hell video in genERal.
FYI: These are the cities each B3 continent was based on: 1. USA: Silver lake is based on Salt Lake City Utah, Downtown is Chicago blended with Pittsburg, Waterfront is San Diego coast with Monterrey mixed 2. Europe: Vineyard is based on Avignon France, Riviera is a mutated Monaco, Winter city is Vienna blended with Munich, Alpine Expressway is German Autobahn 3. The asian tracks are based on Bangkok Thailand with Vietnam's geography
I've made a video on it, so I am aware. Silver Lake is based off Northern California, possible Lake Tahoe. There is a touch of Salt Lake in there too, but not much. Alpine specifically is Bavaria in southern Germany. I haven't seen any influence from Munich in Winter City, Vienna I agree with though. Golden City is Bangkok, Dockside is Hong Kong, Island Paradise is a mix of places, including Thailand's Koh Samui, Vietnam's Ha Long Bay, and potentially a bit of Hong Kong's Lantau Island.
is it just me or is this lowkey kinda uncanny? something about seeing a lake in the usa and a new island off the bay of east asia is genuinely uncanny as someone who was semi obsessed with geography, and dont get me started on the actual og maps, eeugh, literal bordergore.
Very much so! It's part of why I made the video, aside from this just being an interesting showcase of course. I don't find them as uncanny as you by the sounds of things, but there was definitely a moment when I first noticed these dumped files where I went "Eww". Hopefully we'll both be able to unsee those borders in time!
4:15 the west road most likely goes to a tunnel, you can see further west an offroad (road) going somewhere random, and that would line up with the west road. edit: i thought you were talking about the big road, sorry lmao
Burnout really loves riffing on Chicago for whatever reason, particularly its riverfront area. Burnout 2 had Palm Bay Marina, Burnout 3 has Downtown, and Burnout Paradise has Downtown Paradise that all have that area with the bridges and elevated railways.
Yeah it's a video that's been in production for months now. I've had to keep redoing it with new stuff I find and tools that get released, so it's been redone several times now. Still working on it!
I bet a large amount of people didn't give these satellite images much thought. I sure didn't at first. Seeing the Europe and Asia maps so flat is kinda weird. They were in such earlier state compared to USA.
Seems highly likely! They're the very definition of "blink and you'll miss them". The USA Map does seem like it was planned much further ahead of time. It's likely they were aiming for the USA to be completed first for demo purposes, and it also serves as further evidence that the USA region was some of the earlier tracks to be worked on.
Hi there. Yep, still alive! Life has just been in the way a lot lately so I haven't been in the best position to make videos. I certainly do plan to get back to making them soon though!
Europe was definitely changed. The UK is too big. It's obvious when you compare the UK to Italy (which itself could be smaller than real life). It dwarfs it, when irl they are roughly the same size.
Wineyard is supposed to be located in Germany but after selecting "Europe" it zoomes in where Italy is located. It doesnt make much sense.
Vineyard is based of Avignon, France actually. Still, agreed in that it makes little sense!
Well, the giant lake in the center of the US that turns into a small mountain lake doesn't work that well, either lol
@@OmniGlitcher sh*t but Wintercity was. 😅 There are those little shops saying "Bioladen" or "Reisezentrum".

Excellent content as usual
Thanks, glad you've enjoyed!
Great dissection! There's a lot here I hadn't noticed as a kid (and during a recent Burnout 3 playthrough).

Silver lake is literally silver lake, california
@@youfillmylifewithjello6661 nuh uh
@@youfillmylifewithjello6661 Silver Lake, California is vastly different than the Silver Lake in-game. Plus, it's surrounded in a neighborhood.
As always amazing work, i can't imagine how low on subs your channel is, while you making a true gaming jurnalist discoveries!
Thank you! I'll be here making content regardless of sub count, I just want to make stuff people will hopefully find interesting.

I think Chicago is one of the few locations they actually got to scout IRL, and is a dev favourite. Makes sense it appears a lot.
@@OmniGlitcherThe city in NFS Unbound is also heavily inspired by Chicago.
Good stuff
When I was little, I always thought these maps were real world locations.

Any chance you'll cover the maps for that game as well?
