Great production and presentation thanks and forsight of your father.😅 As far as conservation and restoration. Rail track is the best condition it has ever been. For 0.000001% spent on State rail in the last 18 years a professional rebuild of Heavy Harry, A2 Stevensons, 5711. A rail maintenance co-op at Maryborough Victoria having standard in two directions (Ararat + Dunolly) 16:4316:44 and broad in two (Dunolly-Ballarat) broad gauge. LOOK HOW THE AMERICANS CONSIDER THEIR HISTORY.
@colmornane5684 No over bridge at Heathcote Junction, at least over the mainline. Likely the Seymour-Avenel Road bridge between Seymour and Mangalore where trains were banked up the grade north of Seymour. Later shots show the line with the SG line still under construction
Yes agreed, just putting a roof over them protects any asset enormously. There are four A2's two in the railway museum and then the one at the Port Dock Museum, Echuca, and the one in Edwards Park Reservoir.
There are 5. A2 884 is the only Stephenson's one left in the museum at Williamstown, A2 964 in the part at Reservior, A2 986 restored and operated by Steamrail, A2 995 in the Williamstown museum and A2 996 at Echuca.

The model A2 looks magic. I have one just like it moddled after A2 572 as it would have appeared in December 1907. Beautiful machines
Great footage,1:34 looks like Heathcote junction to me.
Could be Heathcote Jcn. not sure!

The three A 2s left Echuca ,Reservoir , Newport museum should all be under a roof of some kind
