Brother probably your footwork sucks what you could do is more footwork practise like one forehand drive and backhand counter for starter and there so many more drills
Most of the points he dropped were because of footwork... Also footwork gets over complicated, just train to cover the table in six steps Short left - far left Short mid - far mid Short right - far right If you can move between all of these locations in just two large side steps or less if you manage to do that you will not need to think about footwork again.
@@nabkawe I mean the video that you have on your channel (i assume thats you playing) does show very questionable footwork. You are definetly a atleast good intermediate player, but a good advanced player Sebastian Stürzebecher or his opponent( they are rather very very good advanced player i would say to be fair). Would make you easili ylook old and have you struggle to open up balls. Atleast i would guess so since you seem to struggle with some very easy balls, and the amount of spin or placement they have at this leve is quite ridicolous.
Sebastian has great touch & formatable strokes espeically his backhand counter attack, block & attack. His opponent served long too many times ,needed to use drop pushes followed by deep pushes or attacks. In short Sebastian was never off balance. He was never going side to side & therefore contolled the table . This was quite entertaining to watch
Toller Spieler mit einem guten Kompakten Spieltechnik 😮! Wieviele TTR - Punkte hat er nur? Unterschätze nie einen Tischtennis Spieler! Das macht unseren Sport aus. Glückwunsch und brauchst Dich nicht verstecken. Danke für diesen Clip!!😊
He may be overweight, but he is a very good player. The leaner guy must make use of the biggest advantage he has, the ability to move around better. His serves were too long, he should mix up very short serves in between.
Impressive, during my pro times as a TT player 3 decades ago, we used to have a tall guy in our national team, he was a national champ a few times thru different categories, he was smarter player I've ever seen, he was 6'4" and regular fit who didn't move much but had an excellent footwork and used his long arms and reach to his advantage, he was fast too, something I don't see often with current euro players, most Table tennis players during my time were under 6 foot height.
I'm a bigger guy myself but this guy is just incredible. Plenty of power, heavy hook sidespin and great touch. His opponent, the smaller of the 2 needed to vary the game more switching up the speed and placement of servers to keep him moving. Us bigger guys do get puffed out quicker and this would have been the best way to win imo.
👍🏻👍🏻 Great game from both of them, I've noticed a few times that stronger players (assuming they have a small "hand") can play very efficiently. My theory is that you have no impulse, or less strong impulse, due to your own body movement, and as a result the ball is guided very precisely. "But that doesn't have to be true, table tennis with all its facets is a great sport❤
I think it's a blessing and also a curse when you're at that level the opponent serve is always bouncing out of the table, I wonder if the serve only reach in front of his net several times.
Es muss ein Horror sein, gegen Stürzebecher zu spielen. Sein Gefühl und seine Antizipation sind hervorragend, egal wie athletisch sein Kontrahent auch ist.
I don`t understand why the leaner player is always serving long, Sebastian Sturzebecher does clearly have great touch feel and power, but he doesn`t move around very well due to the amount of weight and mass he is carrying. serve short and try to get shots closer to the edges so that he would need to move a lot
The blade is called “Quick Reflexes” and the rubbers are “Anticipation Skill” and “Awesome Backhand”. Give him a different setup, he’ll adjust in no time, and play the same freakin’ awesome way.
@jamesmurraldeo7624 Thanks for your reply. I'm not familiar with these brands or equipment at all! I'm in Australia and pretty sure that we don't use this brand! Will try my best to get my hands on it! Cheers! See ya!😎 ( USA brand maybe? )
And here I was thinking Otto from pongfinity already was really good for his size. I know someone of this size playing tennis at a high level. He loses if you manage to hit away from him, but he plays all or nothing with incredibly feel and touch, so you will never be able to get a normal rally off against him.
When you are almost unable to move compared to your opponents you either play very smart and have a very good touch or you just never win. Footwork is not overrated - footwork is just the easiest way to be good. His way is certainly not the easiest. PS also it's possible only when you have a great reach. A shorter person just can't play like that almost without movement.
Stürzebecher hat schon mit fehlender Beinarbeit eine herausragende Ballkontrolle, wenn er sich er erst Mal so richtig in Bewegung setzt, siehst du kein Land mehr, dann trifft er einfach alles wo er will und wann er will.
I mean losing to someone who can not move must be frustrating, imagine doing all those footwork trainings working on your fitness relentlessly and then this happens 😂 Would make you question yourself i guess. Tho the big guy is exceptionally good.
Very good player. Deadly backhand. If your forehand oriented player you need footwork. For backhand oriented players like Sebastian its not that important. A least not in this level.
This fascinates me. How can somebody play so well with so little movement? I always run around the table like an idiot and i'm almost never in a good position to play my stroke well.

also slow spiny loops to the middle as supposed to power loops (making the big guy generate his own power)
