Hi. Thank you for the video. Guess its nice to know the background details. Off to find a video with any type of meter connected to any of the reviewed solar panels to see how things work. As an "infomercial" I guess any information any manufacturer says these days is worth their weight is in USD oh sorry weight in gold . Maybe am just twisted. But for any human to come search youtube for a topic would be for a more in depth look into that subject. Am just a useless human who uses UA-cam to learn from experienced content providers like yourself to reach the end and then know I needed to find another video. Time in our universe is simply? Can't find another word but wasted. Cheers now I will categorise this channel as financial cut investment analysis for product brands. Awesome

Thinking of buying 340W CS1H Canadian Solar panels. But originally wanted to buy QCELL panels. But VOC was too high for my Bluetti ac2000max. Thinking of going with 4 of them. Or should I spend the extra money. Just worried about life span. I need them to be producing at least 85 percent in 10 years or it's not worth the savings.

I have 5kw of these on my roof, after two years my system had already lost 1kw of performance, three years every panel failed, snail trails everywhere and the IP rating is compromised due to the white backing film not being UV stabilised. Installed by Todae Solar along with Canadian Solar whom want nothing to do with it. Two other installations I know of have identical problems.

I feel like you must live somewhere warm to have failing panels. It’s weird to think heat would hurt your output over cold but apparently the heat is much harder on panels... Which is exactly why I don’t think there should be government programs in place to promote solar sales. If you’re having insulation issues I wonder if you’d experience the same issues with a bifacial panel?

Well, related to the warranty of a solar panel, half of what is known is purely marketing as not many are nerdy and dedicated enough to have a solar panel around, register it's conditions in which it works and produces power and wait 20-25 years to debunk those number they provide for the solar panel specifications, "warranty" and such (85% power after 25 years or the "good" ones which have 92-93% power left in them after same amount of time).
I honestly think that, if there's a fairly big amount of money and market share to earn by changing some numbers, they WILL rise the numbers a lil' bit especially if it's so dificult to prove orthwise.

Andy, great video. Have you followed the recent controversy around CP and maybe some of their suppliers using forced labor? I have a good quote for them from an installer but am hesitant to give a green light for this reason? Just not sure how much stock to put into these allegations?

LG is about 50 cents per watt higher. So, $3,000 more for a 6kW system. Worth it? No.

Is there any web-tool that allows one to check the serial number to confirm that its a genuine CS product? In my region generic panels have replica CS specification stickers stuck on.

Our inverter has blown out due to one or more of the panels being faulty at about 6 years old !!
We’ve been advised to scrap the whole system & it’s just bad luck- by an authorised installer- as it’s too costly to get it checked to find the faulty panel (s) that’s creating the problem 😳!!!
Wondering what advice you would have or what the companies back up services might offer ?!

I bought 25 CS3N-390MS HIKU. 1 of 25 is a backup. Got them to my door for $262.48 per panel. A1solarstore. Hope I did okay! Think I’ll go with SOL ARK 15K and bigbattery ethos. Thank you for your video review.

This panel can put out close to 100 watts ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOqI2yqX0XVrhR2BMJciTWrHJpG8FhJyg when positioned in the appropriate southernly direction, tilted to the optimal angle for your latitude/date, and connected to a higher capacity device than a 500. The built in kickstand angle is a fixed at 50 degrees. Up to 20% more power can be output by selecting the actual date and latitude optimal angle. The 500 will only input 3.5A maximum at 18 volts for 63 watts. Some of the excess power from the panel can be fed into a USB battery bank, charged directly from the panel while also charging a 500. This will allow you to harvest as much as 63 + 15 = 78 watts. If this panel is used to charge a larger device, such as the power station, then its full output potential can be realized.

Canadian solar panels are crap!! I unfortunately installed Canadian solar HuKu6 415w panels and the best they produce is 308w and I am in Australia where the sun hammers down....... Chinese rubbish spend a bit more and get name brand panels, it will be cheaper in the long run.
Edit : The panels aren't as bad as I said, the issue was the inverter, after reconfiguring the string the system works great! The solar panels are getting 350w on a sunny hot day. They do pretty good on cloudy days too, I an now pretty happy with these panels, after the installer came back and reconfigured it, I am running a Sunpower inverter.

That's actually very standard, thats not the panel being bad, you live in a hot climate, the panels wont do better when they are hot.
