Been working on brooch bouquets for the past 2 months and I can say that, without a doubt.. you learn a lot as you go. At first, I was using the wires.. but found that you had to have several, tightly wound wires throughout all angles of the brooch..otherwise it'll rock around. It was pain staking to the point where I had to chill for a few days to regain my sanity lol. No one has time to meticulously wire 50-100 brooches. No one. What I DID find was the most successful method, was, like you, hot gluing the brooches onto the bouquet. That being said, I also used 'some' wire for extra durability in the middle of the brooch. I would glue on the brooch, then take a 5 inch long piece of 20 gauge wire, bend it in half so it is like a tight U shape (use pliers to bend) and then I would find a safe spot in the middle of the brooch, and use a small craft hammer and hammer it in. Literally, the easiest, the best. You can only notice the wire if you are looking really hard for it.. not even noticeable
Same.... I'm making my nieces bouquet, and her wedding party. I used the wire technique with mine but when my friend wanted one a couple of yrs later, I started hot gluing and it is so much easier and very pretty. She just wanted ribbon roses, and I taught myself how to do them. But I now know I like different flowers so now I know how to do different flowers besides the roses. I'm self taught.
Absolutely gorgeous! You make it look so easy... you got me ready to make my own brooch bouquet...lol thank you so much for sharing your talent. I can’t wait to make one! Blessings to you!
absolutely stunning as usual Nicole! I made my daughter-in-laws bouquet and her bridal party with your guidance. I thank you! I also made the flowers. She loved it!!
Have you thought of placing/standing the bouquet upright in a narrow box to avoid the slipping and sliding if it while you are working? You’ll also be able to see the entire bouquet while you are working on it.
Nicole, you are the one girl with a WWOOWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched your bling video twice child and it is I really don't have the words. It should cost allot, you have allot if time and the materials aren't cheap. I crochet and hopefully I will have my own shop by this time next year in Hampton Ga, it's 30 mins. from downtown Atlanta and my specialty right now are scarfs,, shawls, cowls. and just like you, I am good at what I put my mind too.Continue to keep up the good work. God Bless
Diane McDougald hello neighbor to be..... I currently live in Hampton, GA... I was thinking that she should NAME the Bouquet after the first BRIDE that orders it and she makes it for, what do you think.
I think that would be a great idea. Hey, since you're so close why not drop by the shop in Stockbridge and look at a few of my pieces. You can't miss them because they are the only handmade crochet pcs in there. Let the owner know I sent you by, who knows you might want to buy a pc or two. MsLovingLife that is really would be the best name. Hit me back up sometime and let me know if you checked out my pieces at Elegance Boutique. Inside Stockbridge Plaza 5017C North Henry Blvd Stockbridge Ga, 30281. Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks for sharing this DIY video Miss Nicole. Love it. I am a Floral Designer but, I enjoy watching others create beautiful bouquets. I agree...No Wires :-)
I just love that you love what you're doing. Your enthusiasm sure is contagious! I want to try my hand at making this for my daughter's wedding. Do you have a tutorial for the roses?

hi Nicole. years later...but how much would you charge for one that looks like this one but large enough for the bride who's about 5' tall AND with the heaviness you mentioned this size may be just fine? Hope this is still relevant
sorry about that...... like I was saying if it's a new creation it should be name after the bride it was made for. let's say Linda ordered that bling and silver one. it she be called THE LINDA....... peace and Blessings are sent out to you.
Hi Nicole. I absolutely love this bouquet! Thanks for all the tips! Can you explain how you attach the pipe to the styrofoam? Are you cutting a hole inside of it to give it some grip or are you just simply putting it against the flat side and gluing it down? That's the part I am most stuck on! Thanks!!
