I’ve just planted 8 Roald Dhall standard roses in my new garden this summer, and was delighted to find this excellent video on how to prune them. I am surprise to see how hard they can be pruned! Thank you for this very clear and informative video.
Brilliant video - thank you so much for posting this. I'm clueless about gardening, but i bought a beautiful yellow standard rose last year and was determined that I was going to take care of it and this video has taught me so clearly how to prune it - I pruned it about 2 months ago and it is looking fantastic!! It is growing into a lovely round ball shape again......all thanks to the times in this video. Many thanks!
I don't typically post comments on UA-cam but I'd thought this would be an ideal time for an exception. I live in Phoenix, Arizona and have been tending (rather poorly) a rose bush on my property. I'd always thought that pruning was strictly small snippets here and there and decided to look up a video to learn the proper way to do it. Yours was amongst the first and taught me that, not only was I pruning improperly, but the majority of my bush was actually dead and rotting away. Hopefully I've saved it in time, but I wanted to extend my gratitude to you for educating me and sharing your knowledge with the world.
