- Rwandan President Paul Kagame has begged the family of Late Fred Rwigyema to convince their son Eric Gisa Jr to return to his motherland.
Rwigyema, until today is considered a revered hero whose military skills contributed greatly to the liberation of Rwanda in 1994.
He had led a contingent of RPF soldiers into fighting to take power in Rwanda, unfortunately he died at the age of 33 during fierce fighting.
Rwigyema death has never been properly documented as many believe it was an inside job.
Gracing a wedding ceremony of Rwigema’s daughter Teta Gisa, which took place on Saturday in Kigali, Mr Kagame took most of the time to lash at Uganda for misleading Eric.
Teta works at the Foreign Ministry while her husband Mervin Manzi is a tech official at the Volkswagen Mobility Solutions in Rwanda.
As he began his speech, Kagame launched veiled salvo against the neighbouring Uganda.
He said Uganda misleads Rwigema’s son to remain in exile and never travels to Rwanda whenever he visits East Africa.
He insisted that Rwigema’s wife Jeanette and Teta should convince Eric to return to Rwanda.

Rwigyema's story is like that of Moses in the Holy Bible. He also had the character of Joseph & David. May soul keep resting in eternal peace
I have read about almost almost all the bush war heroes of 1981-86 and all of them atleast have their dark side of the story but I’m yet to find any thing bad said about RO/00015 Gen Gisa Rwigyema.

Rwigyema was a great fighter. He was politically shrewd but over ambitious. He was killed by his own comrades who considered him a weakling of the ruling clan.
