Angelina Jordan Astar was born 1/10/2006 in Oslo, Norway Angelina is a music prodigy who started singing at the age of 18 months and won Norways got talent at the age of 8 (started competition at age 7 and won at age 8) Angelina is blessed to have a very special family that has watched over her while allowing her the freedom of being herself. One big thing that Mother, Sara Astair, insisted was that Angelina has as much of a normal life growing up as possible Sara and Angelina's uncle and manager, Michael Astar limited what performances Angelina would do sometimes saying no to over 90% of the requests even so Angelina has performed all over the world from age 8 to now age 17. Angelina plays the piano, guitar, violin, and flute and has sung in 5 languages, and has over 180 covers of all genres all of which will amaze you, Angelina has worked hard for children and humanitarian relief and was the youngest author in Norway with a book (Between two Hearts) a story of why she wears no shoes during a performance.

Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sonny & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. Shortly after winning she was designated a National Treasure by the Norwegian people. ♥👣👸🏻
There is video of Angelina recorded by her mother Sarah Astar singing a couple of lines of "I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston when she was 18 months old. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rd language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with Japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru UA-cam of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own.
Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. Angelina has said singing to her is as important to her as breathing. ♥👣👸🏻
She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. Her Tic-Toc is full of these impromptu performances wherever she might be whether in the car, walking around the neighborhood or in a parking Garage. Accompanied by most often a simple guitar or piano her performances are always incredible. Add a band or even a full orchestra as in her performance for Quincy Jones at his request singing his arrangement of 'Fly Me to the Moon'. The same arrangement he did for Frank Sinatra. This opened for his 85th birthday celebration at the 02 Arena in London. ♥👣👸🏻
She is well known worldwide in the industry. Her family and Angelina have been holding back turning down many of the biggest in the industry while she finishes school. Remember she just turned 17 January 10th. They finally signed with Republic Records about three years ago after getting a deal that gave her control of her artistic vision and has since released 2 originals, 'Million Miles' & '7th Heaven' plus a soundtrack for the New Movie "The Hating Game" which opens with her song 'Mercy' performed most notably by Duffy. Republic has labeled her their Highest Priority and assigned a team to her including Rob Christy a multiple Grammy Winner, often on the piano in many of her performances and a whole team of equally qualified professionals. She has worked with some of the best musicians in the industry and always get exactly what she wants. They call her the Boss and have immense respect for her. She is due to release her 1st album promised by Angelin to be soon.
She has been diligently perfecting her craft since winning Norway's Got Talent singing all over the world, Germany, Japan, Korea as well as TV appearances such as The View, Little Big Shots and most notably America's Got Talent where she premiered her Iconic Performance of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which Queen gave her the rights to record her own version available on ITunes and Spotify included on her Album 'Magic' which she released on her own along with a Christmas Song collection. She didn't win AGT because she would not sign with Simon. IMO. She has also sung for Many Heads of State including Barack Obama and a couple of songs opening for Norah Jones in Korea. She also sang at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 8 yrs old for Malala and another recipient. Mostly she has sung for charities helping raise millions for children charities and climate change. The great part is that most of it has been well documented often by herself and her family. Her Grandmother who introduced her to Jazz at 3 & 4 yrs old is behind the camera more than anyone else. Don't feel bad about being speechless and totally amazed. That is the norm for someone who has not seen Angelina Jordan before. She started singing when she was 1-1/2 years old and, yes, there is a video of that. Her grandmother liked jazz and played her records for Angie when she was very little. Before long, Angelina was using an iPad and listening to all the jazz greats, listening and learning their ways of presenting a song, and putting them away in her toolkit. With her perfect pitch, unusual voice, arrangement and performance skills, she is headed for the moon. So, you see that at nine years and two months old she is already a professional and accomplished artist. She chose this song as a tribute to the original singer, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, whose picture is shown in the beginning. The papers she handed to the band leader were her last-minute changes for him. This performance is not typical of Angelina but shows that she can perform in any genre, although she prefers jazz. She always performs barefoot and there is an interesting story behind that. She has been in the public eye since she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent in 2013, when she was 7, and won it at age 8. Now she is 17 and was signed to Republic Records as a highest priority new artist in 2020. Her recent releases of originals and covers are beyond superlative. Thank you for this reaction. That last phrase: a staggering 14 seconds long.... I was thinking 'who is pumping air in that little girl?'. Angelina's breath control is out of this World and, being a hobby chorister myself, I have so much respect for her: the breath, the voice, the talent to convey emotions to the audience... it's all there. And if that's not enough: Angelina herself is involved in a lot of the arrangements for the instruments since she was 7 years of age. In fact she is a full-fledged musician since that early age already. As a judge in Norway Got Talent did put it, back in 2013: "Angelina, you ARE music". I think that lady was right.

Is telling her mother she wants to sing on that Simon show at three.
Enters school at four and enrolls in after school program taking music, piano, violin and flute.
Is speaking three languages fluently at five and reading English.
At five is studying music theory and practicing four to six hours per day six days per week.
Family is trying to slow her down but she wants more.
At five tells her Mother she wants to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Try’s to audition for Norway’s Got Talent but is told she must be seven.

Excellent reaction! You're correct on every point, especially the "Julliard-level" singing talent and "prodigy"/"born with it" comments. Indeed this kind of talent can't be taught! I know you will enjoy her body of work and look forward to your next Angelina reaction, whether of her earlier work (e.g., "Norway's Got Talent") or her more recent originals and covers. I suspect you'd appreciate her Adele covers (like "Easy on Me" and "All I Ask"), but since you clearly see how she has learned from the masters you might also enjoy her early covers of classic jazz, like "What a Difference a Day Makes" (Dinah Washington) and "Every Time You Say Goodbye" (Ella Fitzgerald) which she did at 8 and 10 years of age, respectively.

Since I found her I listen to her daily. Hypnotizing is a great word for it. I feel she strips me of any cognitive reactions and the quality of her voice just hits me straight in the emotional core.

She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. In this video did you notice:Angelina finishing some notes and handing them to the pianist, who smiled as he read them? They call her 'the boss' and said she's been a pleasure to work with! Prodigy, of course, and if you choose to listen to more of her (she's now 17) you will experience an emotional explosion which you never realized you had inside you! In time you will find out not only is she incredibly talented with a voice so soulful and full of love she has also been described by some musicians in the industry as a musical genius. Guys who have played for Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart and on and on. Some of her fan base (her 'angels') will be sending you all kinds of data (playlists and bio's ) about her. Being equipped with a very high level of musicality, accomplished breathing techniques, a tool box full of vocal ornaments, mastery of lyrical interpretation and an undeniable passion to sing... It's impossible NOT to be dumbfounded by what you hear...Her band calls her "The Boss"... there's plenty of videos showing her actively participating in round table discussions with them...or bringing up where an orchestra went wrong to the director... She knows EXACTLY what the music should be.. and has the pipes to fully meet the high standards she holds dear. I've reviewed the comments and full articles/ biographies of her career to this point... IMO, it's her PASSION to sing, to write music (Yes, she's recorded some of them), to let her vast understanding of music composition & creativity run it's "meant to be" course. What is really impressive to me about Angelina in these early recordings is not just her singing voice but the incredible emotion, nuances, storytelling and sense of timing that she already had at a very young age. There are a lot of young children on talent shows that have impressive strong powerful voices but few have the qualities listed above. This is what sets Angelina apart from the others. Unfortunately some are only impressed by who can sing the loudest and highest but I think someone with the qualities of Angelina will in the long run stand out among the others.

I'm 59 and discover AJ on youtube about 2 years ago and have been hooked ever since. There's many other young up and coming musical artists out there, and they are good..but there's something unique and special about AJ tho.. In my lifetime I've never felt this way about an up and coming artist before..And believe you me, I've seen and heard A LOT in my years. I've enjoyed many genre of music, but AJ singlehandedly made me enjoy jazz like never before..You can feel she was born with musical notes running thru her veins. Her humility makes her so endearing to me and to her fans around the world...Even if she doesn't single note of music ever again, she is STILL a very beautiful person inside. She truly have captured my heart with her voice, her looks, her demeanor and the person that she is...Great reaction my friend, cheers..

Angelina, the Barefoot Princess, won Norway's got talent at age 7/8, began performing Barefoot age 6, after meeting a young poor barefoot girl weighing people in the streets for money, her feet were scarred. Angelina was 6 and so was the girl. Angelina took her shoes off and gave them to the girl. Angelina published a book about the experience at age 9, youngest published author in Norway. Angelina has helped raise millions for charities. She signed with Republic Records in 2020. She received a Golden Buzzer after being invited to AGT Champions also in 2020. Angelina speaks multiple languages and plays multiple instruments. She turned 17 in Jan and will graduate high school this summer. Angelina is releasing her new album this year.

Right from when I first heard her seven years ago, I've been more intrigued by what Angelina is trying to do with her voice than what she actually does. She heard and tried to reproduce techniques that most infants would not even hear. At times her physiology blocked the messages her brain had been sending but she persevered, seemingly recognising all the time that this would be a temporary state of affairs. Then there's her creativity. She has taken songs which have been covered by hundreds of singers and yet, scarcely into her teens, has been able to come up with unique renditions which often shift the originals' sentiments. She sings covers like an impressionist paints; you may not immediately recognise it but how do you feel about it? Soon we will apparently be able to judge her ability to write a whole album's worth of material. If someone in their mid-teens, with the limited life experience that entails, can engage her mature audience with her writing then I'll call it early - she is a bona fide multi-faceted genius. My advice would have been to get some good writers on board but nobody will be happier than me to be proved wrong when she turns out to match the likes of a Carole King, Cynthia Weil or Linda Creed as a composer on top of her elite vocal ability.

Continue your shock knowing that this is 9 year old Angelina's own arrangement without extensive professional music or singing lessons. Her school DOES have a well developed music program with a recording studio. I'd say her biggest influence has been her maternal grandmother Mery, who has exposed Angelina to jazz greats from birth. Angelina developed her own obsession with jazz greats and emulates their talents.

I love this performance so much. As they say AJ don't play. We get the most stunning, amazing performance of a 9 yr old of this Jazz standard ever created. I believe it is going to go down in Jazz & Music history as the best ever for this age and in my opinion the best rendition of this song ever created Screamin Jay included. It will be revisited for Decades and will remain relevant for Generations to come. Anyone who discovers this performance for the first time today or a 100 years from today are going to be as amazed and astounded as everybody has been to this point.
Think of the children who will be inspired by this one performance in the decades to come. This is an Iconic performance and will always be Iconic. Angelina has on her own from early on at 6 or 7 yrs old reintroduced what I believe will be a whole new Jazz Era and redefined by this young phenom and prodigy. That is astounding! And she is just 17 years old... That is unfathomable. She has already established her proficiency and incredible work ethic in this endeavor guided by an incredible family and professional support now surrounding her.

When have you ever heard of anyone that animated at that age to perform the song, not just sing the song. Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music. She's a singer/ songwriter who's arranged over 180 covers and 5 originals, all since the age of 7. Angelina began singing at 18 months old. At 2, she began teaching herself how to sing, focusing primarily on the jazz masters of decades gone by. These are artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James. She's also influenced by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele, to name a few. She's also been said to be the girl of 1,000 voices. Yet even though we can hear the phrasing and style she puts in the songs, it's always Angelina that we hear.
At 7 years old, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. She was the last to audition. The judges had no idea who she was or what she could do. They saw a diminutive mussy haired, barefooted girl with her teeth still growing in. For her audition, she performed "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. On TV-2, they've reported over 14 million views of this performance. This does not take into account the many hundreds of reactors showing this audition to millions more.
Needless to say, Angelina went on to win the 2014 season of NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. The family was bombarded with requests for performances, interviews, and record label offers. They turned down 90% of the requests, as they insisted that Angelina should enjoy a normal childhood.
That didn't stop Angelina from performing at select engagements around the world, singing for Heads of State, and even Barack Obama. She's spent time and worked with musicians such as Quincy Jones and Alan Walker. She first appeared on American television, The View, at 8 years old.
Angelina auditioned for America's Got Talent The Champions at 13 years old. She made it just up to the final selection of the final 5 when she dropped from the competition. It wasn't that she wasn't good enough to be in the final 5, but it was because she refused to sign with an AGT affiliated label, should she win. She knew very well what production hungry labels could do to her music. She even turned down Disney.
At 14, Angelina signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her complete artistic control as well as control over the performances she would make. She turned 17 on January 10, 2023, and will graduate from high school after the spring semester. From then on, she will embark on her full-time professional career. She's been working closely with Republic on her first album under their label. It's likely that it will drop shortly after her graduation.

She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

Thank you for discovering Angelina. I hope you will do many more reactions to her, as she is well worth every nanosecond you spend on her. I have watched and listened to her in awe since she released her first video on UA-cam, and what has been evident to me from the start is that she sings with total conviction, despite the fact that she is far too young to have experienced the events suggested in the lyrics of the song she has chosen to sing. But it is not only that, for strange as it may seem is the even more remarkable fact that she can convey the appropriate emotions within those lyrics to her listener.
Angelina was 9 years and 2 months old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956 (50 years before Angelina was born). She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original.
There are many things I found particularly worthy of note in this video. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. Another Angelina "Angel" has pointed out something else which I had missed, and it is added at (l) below,
(a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled.
(b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers.
(c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it.
(d) The smile on the face of the Bass player.
(e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine"
(f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand. Possibly to remind herself of the last minute changes she wanted.
(g) Her unwavering passion throughout the performance. Evidenced by her facial expressions and the way she uses her hands and body to emphasise the direction of the song.
(h) The way she takes a breath just before she starts the last phrase (I don't care.....) and that breath lasts the whole of that sustained note. A child of that age should not have the ability to hold a note for that length of time.
(i) At the end, when she sings I Doooont Caaaaare, she employs TWO separate and distinct vibratos to the word care, a wide one to start the word and a tighter one to close the word
(j) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody.
(k) Perhaps the most remarkable is that despite her tender years, she sings with such total conviction that her authenticity is never in doubt. It is easy to believe that she has experienced the events described in the lyrics. It is not only her voice that is mesmerising, it is also her facial expressions, and the way she uses her hands and body. Her stage presence is electrifying.
(l) The performance absolutely is powerful and raw but to me, I am amazed that this is balanced by the profound beauty of the ending phrase; the last twelve words of the song. AND… they are essentially sung a cappella!
Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.

Angelina really is an amazing talent & i agree with all the comments below. I recommend you watch Angelina singing Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT -- so emotional. Also check out, if you have not already, another fantastic young woman singer, Diana Ankudinova. Daina sings in Russian, English, French, Spanish and Arabic. My favourite Diana song is 'Rechenka', is in Russian but do not need lyrics to experience the emotions Diana can portray. A nice first reaction! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 17 years old, living in Los Angeles, and is signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a shoeless homeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to be a superstar, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

I have listened to her every day for 8 years as she has grown. The only artist I have been able to do this with. She is addictive because you never know what you will get. She has learned complete control of the nuances and texture of her voice by singing all the greats, almost every genre. She can go from dirty grit and rasp of her 13 year old Etta James cover ID RATHER GO BLIND to pure classical of last years MY FUNNY VALENTINE. Last year she opened a jazz concert with a Labyrinth number MOUNT EVEREST. you should listen to her Adele Covers of last year ALL I ASK and EASY ON ME. It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! Angelina is writing final changes to the performance at the beginning (they are referred to as her "wishes") which the director then reads.
"I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock-rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne-type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video).
You must go and again listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). ANGELINA was introduced to jazz by her grandmother " mery " Angelina was very young before school age , she then scoured you tube for all the great jazz artists of her past , her earliest and one of her major influences is " Billie holiday "

English is not her first language, so how she puts in such emotion in to each word is astonishing. You will get the measure of how extraordinary she is. You can choose anything she’s done at any age, and you will always be astounded. You’re in for an experience, that’s for sure.

Hi Nick 👋. I give new Angie reactors a welcome pack, please read. She chooses all her own songs & does all her own arrangements ever since she was very young, even when she did Screaming Jay Hawkins “I put a spell on you” at barely 9, even at 7 & 8 on NGT (Norway’s Got Talent). On AGT-C Angie made her outfit from silkscreen patterns of her grandma's art work when she was 13 back in Norway. She makes several of her other outfits for shows & concerts too. She also paints great, plays 5 instruments & speaks & sings 4+ languages, English being her 3rd. Angie turned 17 on 1-10-23. Angie is a very kind, giving, loving, respectful, humble & a big hearted Christian girl. She always sings barefoot when performing & she wrote a book about it at 9 called “Between Two Hearts” & she was/is the youngest to be published in Norway. (Angie has always been the driving force behind her dreams)

New subscriber - thanks to your great reaction to & appreciation of this amazing Angelina performance (which she also arranged) - at age 9. Now 17 - Angelina Jordan from Norway has well over 180 covers & some original songs readily available on UA-cam. But - in order to better understand her musical roots & early influencers, I highly recommend her Norway's Got Talent audition singing Gloomy Sunday - at age 7. Another fan favorite is her America's Got Talent audition singing Bohemian Rhapsody - at age 13. Shortly after being on AGT, Angelina signed a contract with Republic Records - at age 14. Her 1st release was a very heartfelt song - Million Miles. I highly recommend her live studio version. Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.

Btw- that made her the youngest published author in Norway. :)

Angelina 9 yo. Look at her! She controls the entire recording. She has the power and ability to carry this out. The fact that she then has an outstanding fantastic voice and theatrical body language only makes everything even better. The musicians are also amazingly good. They give everything to complete this masterpiece! This little Norwegian girl reads the English lyrics while singing! She is from Norway and they speak Norwegian there. English is Angelina's 3rd language! Already at 5-6 years old, she understands exactly what is meant in the English lyrics! Incredible!

Angelina was 2 months past her 9th birthday here - and she arranged the whole thing herself, it was performed according to her wishes (in the intro she is scribbling some changes and the producer is viewing her crumpled notes with a slight grin). Apparently the band fondly called her "the boss". She was not bossy, but constantly consulted with these seasoned musicians about the arrangement. There is another video around, with Angelina and the same band jamming around with Screaming Jay Hawkin's "Portrait of a Man" - which Angelina aptly modified - as she does - as "Portrait of a Child"! There one can see and hear the interaction between Angelina and the band. The dialog is in Norwegian, so I recommend turning on the subtitles, which are in English.
It’s always great when someone knowledgeable about music encounters Angelina for the first time. She’s 9 here, 17 today. I’m in my 70’s and have followed music all my life. Angelina is easily the best singer I’ve ever heard. You’ll get scores of comments-all true-about how great Angelina is, so I’ll try to give you one that I think will amaze you. Angelina never sang this song in the same way again. This was a one-off in the recording studio. And the voice that you heard is the one she chose to deliver this old school bluesy version-which she arranged herself.
You just have to start listening. She will amaze you dozens of times as she did today in many different genres. Her voice now can be completely mesmerizing. If you want to see Angelina stun an audience and judges into silence, watch her cover (again, her own arrangement) of Bohemian Rhapsody, at 13, on America’s Got Talent.
