I'm so amazed by how Chris Cornell kind of screams "You Know My Name" at the end of the song. His vocal capabilities were so amazing. He sounds like a certified rockstar. R.I.P. Mr. Cornell.
The film version and album version. But loving the heck out of the bass in the film version and the bass slides in the album version. Killer musicians and phenomenal artist.
I like the Album Version best, his vocals are forefront and clear even though the orchestra is easy to hear. His vocal range always amazed me. RIP Chris you are sorely missed.
I like the album version, the film version has a very soft beat during the chorus which you can barely hear, the album version has the best beat and has that weight that the song needs which makes it that much more epic
I think the film version is biased more to the bass and less snare/cymbals. It will depend what system you are listening on but the film version can be thunderous.
Arguably more a rock composition than any other bond theme , ( possible exceprion a view to a kill possibly ) Cornells perceptive lyrics and wonderful vocal performance combine in an apt launchpad for 007 in what became the spectacular Daniel Craig franchise reboot
Arpeggio, ha, in the middle of the song did u hear that metal sound, like two swords thrash or strike each others, i wonder how to create it, may be play an electric guitar with a cello bow (both had Amandatium strings lol) some rock guitarists did before: Jimmy Page etc. but they cant create the same sound. Just some bs, im not a musician. Also that rock n raw vocal wasnt overpowered by a ridiculous orchestra, Chris didnt know how great he was, he was a humble man, despite what ppl think abt a rock star.
When I think of this song, the version that comes to my mind first would be the film version. The orchestral additions made it something else. The album version is also great; I actually like the acoustics on verse one. The single version has to be my least favorite, sadly; the vocals here, while much more raw, just don't resonate with me the way the single/film take does.
I am puzzled. I always thought there was a 'pop mix' version as well. With either a different hi hat almost with paradiddle arrangement on chorus, or a tambourine was used.Or did I imagine all this?? Great chord structure.Perfect for Bond!! Still love the film version the best with the heavy orchestra arrangement. Thanks for posting these 3 together.
According to Wikipedia, the “Pop Mix” version is the album one (and also featured in the music video). Since the single isn’t available in Brazil’s Spotify, can’t know for sure. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Know_My_Name#Release
Used some “old magic” and the information on Wikipedia is correct: the “Pop Version” is the same featured in “Carry On” and the music video. The main version on the single is the “Rock Version”. And this “Orchestral Version” is exclusive to the movie.
The film version is the best one in my opinion, the album version seems to have the voice of the film version but then the instruments of the single version.
IMO the hi hats on the movie version make it for me, the small addition of them in my opinion makes it sound so much better, like you’re gearing up to fight someone
Anyone happens to know if the film version was ever released on disc at all? Depending on how you interpret the Wikipedia article about this song it *might* be present on the 2008 'Best of Bond' compilation- I don't have that set, but I do have the 2012 version, and that one contains the single version, not the film version.
I love the song for the first DANIEL CRAIG FILM CASINO ROYALE FILM 📼 IN 2006 WITH DANIEL CRAIG AS LAN FLEMING BOND JAMES BOND 007 WITH EVA GREEN AS VESPER LUND IN CASINO ROYALE 2006 FILM 📼,,,,,,,, YOU KNOW MY NAME IS THE BEST BOND THEME OF THE BEST JAMES BOND 007 FILM 📼,,,,,
So for me the Film Version will always be amazing but i think each version has something unique so for the First Version it's the use of the raw vocals, Second Version the instruments used within and the Third Version that truly just makes it absolutely amazing the mixture of both of them is there and present but I think if all 3 were mixed together maybe something unique would be there......
The perspective definitely shifts at several points in this song and multiple interpretations can be made. One thing is certain tho: the song ends from Bond's perspective: with SEVEN "you know my name".
It is a shame that this song was never nominated for an Oscar and what a travesty that Melissa Etheridge won for a forgettable song for “an inconvenient truth” (yep! Look that up! What a shame and true crime) it would have been amazing if not a true awesomeness if we have gotten a true swept by Chris on all song awards for this amazing song! Glad he won the Saturn, but he was nominated for Grammy but really?? Dreamgirls?? Who remembers that? But everyone remembers this amazing song from one of the top films from Daniel Craig’s bond films!
Wow, I'm very surprised how many people prefer the Single Version and how very, very wrong they are. Film version, and to a lesser degree Album Version (which is the Film Version toned down).
I don't think any of these are perfect. I prefer different aspects of all three and I think there's a perfect version in there somewhere. I also really hate how the theme songs for Bond films aren't on the soundtrack albums anymore.
Personally don’t like the single version. The raw vocals just don’t hit it for me. That’s just me. Like the album version the most. Not that I don’t like the hi hits but there’s something about that acoustic during the verse that’s so satisfying to me
Agree the single version sounds like a demo vocal-wise. I don't understand why there can't just be one version. Just like the video version of Fell On Black Days. He doesn't seem to have the control to repeat the same cadence twice. It's different every time he sings a line.
My favorite is the film version. Love the way the vocals sound and the instrumental is the best of the three imo My least favorite is prolly the single or "rock" version, I don't like Chris' vocals here as much. Instruments are alright I guess but it just lacks the oomph of the other two imho. Also, this may be kind of a silly complaint, but him changing the lyrics to "I've seen this diamond through harder men" to "I've seen diamonds cut through harder men" between versions has always annoyed me. Tho I guess it kinda makes a neat reference to Die Another Day with Zhao.
It looks like there are four versions. I think this is the 'pop mix' with a very weird time signature and key change half way through: ua-cam.com/video/wap6J08Z1Cw/v-deo.html
Please please please does anybody know where I can get a copy of version 2? I've bought an expanded casino royale soundtrack which was supposed to have version 2, but its got a different version. 😠
I'm so amazed by how Chris Cornell kind of screams "You Know My Name" at the end of the song. His vocal capabilities were so amazing. He sounds like a certified rockstar. R.I.P. Mr. Cornell.
Film Version is best! That theme is one of the best ever made for a Bond film and thankfully it is one of the best Bond films ever.
Yes..considerably ..
@@markgarcia8253 Skewered.
It's the smoothest. The album version is the best imo.
#1 Single Version is the one I grew up with I love Chris Cornell
The single version is good, but the album version is an absolute MASTERPIECE!!
I completely agree with you there!
I miss the orchestral parts in the single version but I much prefer Cornell's vocal delivery.
Best bond song ever. Love you Chris
The film version and album version. But loving the heck out of the bass in the film version and the bass slides in the album version. Killer musicians and phenomenal artist.
The album version is the best. Saludos desde Lima, Perú. QEPD, Mr. Cornell.
BEST Bond song EVER .

You can't beat listening to this song and by the same artist in 3 different versions, all equally good. I have no preference. Like them all. !!!
Never followed sound garden. My loss. RIP. Best Bond song. EVER.Also complements to David Arnold.
I like the Album Version best, his vocals are forefront and clear even though the orchestra is easy to hear. His vocal range always amazed me. RIP Chris you are sorely missed.
BRILLIANT AND ONE OF BEST!
Single ver 3:34
Film ver 6:54
Album ver 10:59
Nothing can beat the album version.
I like the album version, the film version has a very soft beat during the chorus which you can barely hear, the album version has the best beat and has that weight that the song needs which makes it that much more epic

Album and Film versions 🔥

Miss ya Chrisssss
I like the orchestral touch of the movie version.
R I p Chris c,, thank you for the song you sing for the film 📼 casino role
1- perfect 2- perfect 3 - perfect
It's a shame the single version didn't have the "Are you ready to die" line near the end, it's one of my favorite lyrics from the song.
These are all good, but I think they are in order on the video from good to best. Still my favorite Bond theme and favorite Bond film.
The best song ever from a BOND FILM 📼 IS CASINO ROYALE,,,, YOU KNOW MY NAME, 📼📼📼
What a sumptuous treat this is.
This is Great rock music!
this is so good to feel cool
Single version ALL THE WAY. It has a killer guitar, a “bondy arpeggio”, perfect. The movie version is also great, but unfortunately it isn’t complete.
I completely disagree with you there. I prefer the guttural version with his banshee type wailing at the end.
Perayaan Acara HUT ke-14 Kompas TV 2011
I remember a demo leaking which I really loved back then. Can't find
I am puzzled. I always thought there was a 'pop mix' version as well. With either a different hi hat almost with paradiddle arrangement on chorus, or a tambourine was used.Or did I imagine all this?? HERMOSO
Love this
It's a shame that still the film version of "You Know My Name" isn't (officially) released yet.
The cow-bell nod to For Your Eyes Only which appears very briefly in the movie version..... only to think better of itself and not be repeated.
I heard the album version first, and it's the best one for me. The film ver is a tiny bit different, but the single one just seemed off...
The film version is the best one in my opinion, the album version seems to have the voice of the film version but then the instruments of the single version.
So the single version is the 'Rock', film version te 'Orchestra' and the Album one the obscured 'Pop'?
The PAL pitched film version is the best
I love the growling bass on v2 ✌🏻
How I wish I could go back to 2006
Me too. I was 8 going on 9... life was simpler back then lol
The album one is definitely my favorite
Found I have the single version in my music library
Can anyone share a link for the movie version pls
Film version all the way for me, it sounds slicker, the others seem a bit forced/laboured in comparison.
IMO the hi hats on the movie version make it for me, the small addition of them in my opinion makes it sound so much better, like you’re gearing up to fight someone
The movie version with the Orchestral is number 1 for me...
❤
Anyone happens to know if the film version was ever released on disc at all? Does anyone know where to find the isolated single version of this song for purchase?
John i need to contact you, i need the file for the single version to create a cover from it. I need that favor.
Single version is the best by far
The reason i Watched Casino Royale was because of this song
I love the song for the first DANIEL CRAIG FILM CASINO ROYALE FILM 📼 IN 2006 WITH DANIEL CRAIG AS LAN FLEMING BOND JAMES BOND 007 WITH EVA GREEN AS VESPER LUND IN CASINO ROYALE 2006 FILM 📼,,,,,,,, YOU KNOW MY NAME IS THE BEST BOND THEME OF THE BEST JAMES BOND 007 FILM 📼,,,,,
is there a song more "bond" than this one?
So for me the Film Version will always be amazing but i think each version has something unique so for the First Version it's the use of the raw vocals, Second Version the instruments used within and the Third Version that truly just makes it absolutely amazing the mixture of both of them is there and present but I think if all 3 were mixed together maybe something unique would be there......
Movie version goes stupid with the instruments. The others just can't top it.
Are the lyrics to '#YouKnowMyName' said from the perspective of God ,Christ, or Satan or a GuardianAngel or Fate/Fortune or M ? ✌
The perspective definitely shifts at several points in this song and multiple interpretations can be made.
One thing is certain tho: the song ends from Bond's perspective: with SEVEN "you know my name".
Pretty sure you can say it's from the perspective of both Bond and LeChiffre
Can i contact you to have the single version on that quality?
Album version
It is a shame that this song was never nominated for an Oscar and what a travesty that Melissa Etheridge won for a forgettable song for “an inconvenient truth” (yep! Look that up! I thought there’s a key change halfway through the single?
Wow, I'm very surprised how many people prefer the Single Version and how very, very wrong they are. Film version, and to a lesser degree Album Version (which is the Film Version toned down).
his voice is actually better in the single, sung differently in my opinion. he's pitchy in the others.
I don't think any of these are perfect. I prefer different aspects of all three and I think there's a perfect version in there somewhere. I also really hate how the theme songs for Bond films aren't on the soundtrack albums anymore.
Wait, really?
That's stupid lol

The name's Bond...James Bond.
Are the lyrics to '#YouKnowMyName' said from the perspective of God ,Christ, or Satan or a GuardianAngel or Fate/Fortune or M ? ✌
It looks like there are four versions. I think this is the 'pop mix' with a very weird time signature and key change half way through: ua-cam.com/video/wap6J08Z1Cw/v-deo.html
I like the single and film version, but the album version is not far off.
There are lots of James Bonds.
Who didn't like this video??????
All are YKMN, all are great, and the best is the single, always :D cz i like rock and this is an action movie, not an MTV show or a concert hall
Version 1 is the best by far. Sung better and slightly better melody and lyrics. Shouldn't have tried to improve that first version. Always a mistake.
Single version..... it's purer and more stripped back... I don't like the intrusive overdubbed flourishes on the other versions.
Please please please does anybody know where I can get a copy of version 2? I've bought an expanded casino royale soundtrack which was supposed to have version 2, but its got a different version. 😠
