I do credit spread when I suspect stock price to move so the spread goes OTM.

Explain this please. Isnt your goal to go ITM?

Yes but the best returns are when you are OTM and the stock takes you ITM whilst holding. Once ITM the returns slow dramatically. In a perfect world you would buy OTM let the option go ITM then roll into OTM and so on.

You dont have to go itm to make a good return, theoretically you could buy OTM and sell OTM and still make a good return. Its all about what you payed and what you can sell. I dont get caught up in breakevens or any greek. Simply, what did i pay what is my goal (usually 100% gain i atleast sell half of those contracts keep the other half and you have no risk) i check daily highs and lows on the specific strike im buying. That informs everything i do when it comes to selling.
