- Serbia defeated Canada 95-86 in the FIBA World Cup 2023 semi-final and advanced to the grand final after a nine-year absence.
Aleksa Avramovic made a huge effort by slowing down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and becoming the energy guy for the Serbians. He finished the match with 10 points and a pair of steals while Bogdan Bogdanovic contributed with a game-high 23 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

For casual fans, Guduric Dobric Milutinov etc. are just some unknown names, but to those who watch basketball regularly know that neither one of them is just some guy. They are seasoned professionals playing at the highest level in Europe and carrying their teams on their shoulders. I definitely agree it is a about teamwork, but these guys are serious talents for this exact style of basketball 👍

Partizan without Avramović had 4-9 in the Euroleague. After he recovered, team had 16-5. He again injured his hand after few minutes in G3 series vs Real Madrid. Partizan lost G5 because they didn't have Avramović to pressure the players with the ball and Chacho Rodriguez couldn't get into the paint so easily and break through the backcourt in key moments without any pressure.

@@returnofmerenguespersempre6664 He has a somewhat strange career path, he was overlooked by both Partizan and Zvezda and at the age of 22 he dominated the season in a small club - Borac Čačak, where Željko Obradović started his playing career as well. After that, he went to Varese, then to Unicaja, where he didn't do well, then in the post-covid season he played for Estudiantes, which was relegated at the end of the season, but Avramović was the 2nd best scorer in the ACB. Then Željko Obradović returns to Partizan and Avramović is one of the first players to be signed. At first he seemed a little raw and impatient, but he always played with incredible energy. A true competitor, who wants to beat the best and is not afraid to do so.
@@markomarkovic5729 Yeah, you always need the energy players, its not always about huge superstars, he is the metronome that makes the team tick. A perfect team player that any coach would love to have in his side!
OH!! If Obradovic picks him, its no wonder that he has talent and potential as Obradovic is one of the best coaches in game and has a keen eye for team building. Shame that he didnt succed in Serbia national team but I assume there was problems with managing egos. Would love to see him maybe do a comeback in national team.
Someone needs to do the running and he is the perfect guy for the task. I gotta wonder what this team would look like if Jokic played and some other NBA players that couldnt make it. Olympic games will be a treat to watch!

Ova ce reprezentacija biti zajebana u iducih 10 godina ako svi ovi mladji budu igrali. Znam da su ljudi ljuti na Jokica ali sa ovim tempom ni ja ne bi igrao. Treba da se krivi NBA i FIBA zbog ovakvih stvari a ne igraci. Igrace i Jokara opet kad bude mogao i dobro. Ovo nisu 90te i 2000 te kad je potpuno drugaciji tempo bio u NBA i FIBA.
Svetislav Pešić is the name of THE MAN. He lead Jugoslavia to gold in 2002 championship in Indianapolis where we beat USA in quarterfinals and put them out of medals at home soil. Before that, gold in European championship 2001 in Turkey. He just knows his business and is the best man at it!

@@tropickman was impossible due to huge contracts with Jokic, Murray and MPJ. Brown had a choice to stay and play another season for ~2mil or go and cash in on a title, there was nothing more Denver could have offered him due to NBA monetary regulations. really sad, as he was one big piece for that ring for the Nuggets.
Canada and USA are both young roosters with NBA talent and zero Fiba experience. Im glad to see the best two teams in the finals. Most talented maybe not but most cohesive units the best. Go Serbia!!

I noticed Avramovic when nobody knew who he really was. It took me whole 5 seconds watching him running the court like cheetah. Why I am not yet an Nba scout only god knows.

Ne zaboravite da je i Jokic deo ovih pobeda. Da nije bilo njega, verovatno ne bi smo pobedili Grcku u Beogradu i kvalifikovali se za ovo prvenstvo. Setite se i Smailagica, Jaramaza, Trifunovica, Radanova, Kuridze, Luke Mitrovica, Ristica. Mislim da je i Djurisic igrao u jednoj utakmici. Micic, Kalinic, Lucic naravno.
U pravu si sto posto I ne svidja mi se sto pojedinci bez mozga pljuju po Jokicu u komentarima bez ikakvog razloga.Kakve sve izraze nisam procitao I muka mi je zaista zbog toga,a malo me i sramota da budem iskren.Idu Olimpiske igre gde ce konkurencija biti brutalna I trebace taj Jokic itekako reprezentaciji bez obzira na ovaj uspeh.Svaka ti cast na svakoj reci koju si napisao u komentaru I drago mi je da postoje ljudi u Srbiji koji razmisljaju mozgom,a ne emocijama.Pozdrav I svako dobro.

My casual opinion on it the game was Serbia had a counter to every scheme Cnada thrown against them, off ball movement and general execution was really really good. I really liked that they spread to the entire half court leaving the paint very vacant which not only makes opening when they drive to the basket but also another opening when the defence close out. I'm a casual though so I maybe just seeing things lol😅
You are pretty much right.. that's mostly cause Pesic read Fernandez like a book, in particular for the paint game. Pesic always changed between Milutinov and Petrusev at the right time when Fernandez also changed his centres...

I do not know from where comes idea about Serbia= Bogdanovic. Come on guys?. Milutinov-Olympiacos, Petrušev(he will bi probably the best center from Europe in close future), Jović-Miami, also Guduric-Fener, Avramovic, Davidovac- big worker,... Our main advantage is that our oponent couch doesnt know who will step up and make 20+ points in the game. Everyone can do that in our team. Bogdanovic is just capiten and first of them.

Avramović posle Bogdana glavni igrač ove ekipe, ko zna kako bi se neko drugi uklopio. Čovek je odigrao bez greške zadnje dve utakmice, i odbranu i napad, oduševio me. Možda i više od Bogdana od njega očekuješ.

@@zoso382true, but that was unlucky loss. We were playing the most beautiful basketball on that tournament, but Italy wanted it more in quarterfinals and they got best of it.
@@zoso382 Serbia also played phenomenally at Eurobasket last year, with the exception of one quarter against Italy. Their game was absolutely dominant in every way, but the bad 10 minutes came at a very inopportune time. This year they also failed once, again against Italy, but at a much better time. They had the opportunity to come back, and they took it.
Don't compare horse keeper with thiese guys, and don't ever put konjušar in team with those guys (maybe only on olympics), konjušar showed that he have no character which thiese guys have, and that's what we appreciate, and what's important for us.
