After wathich this interview, I am thinking that had we got " AZADI" at all from British rule? In" Free" India we speak freely and fluently "English" language than any other Indian language! Amazing! Actually my child is a pupil of an international school, where many international languages are taught. Lacks of rupees we spent for our child's education. You know, their is no future at all at any Government regional language based school. So, instead of financial difficulties, we have admitted our child or children at big, sofisticated, expensive school. Even, Asian languages like Arabic or Persian are not valuable language to learn for affluent Indian parents. This is my own experience. And playing football and cricket! Alas! With which energy and enthusiasm we play these sports, with same thing we practiced to culture and promote India very positively! So , basic point of my query is that, if at present time we have growned up ourselves more British, American and Global, then why some genius had sacrificed themselves for independence from British rule? Then what was wrong to live under Britishers, when we have already decided to be like them or want to be more British ? My comment is long. May be it will bring total boredom for you. Many Bengali girls in Kolkata who studied in convent schools do not read Bengali books and do not watch Bengali serials either. If their family accepts that, I do not see why others have a problem. Those girls can speak fluent Bengali if necessary but they prefer to speak in English as they feel more comfortable.

Because 1)Breathing (humans need to breathe, so they may pause in order to catch their breath). 2)In order to let the person they are talking to, comprehend what they have just said, to give them a moment to process. 3)To think - the speaker mightn’t know what to say next or have lost their train of thought, so they take a second to get back on track. 4)To make listening to them easier. Imagine listening to a lecturer who doesn’t take a single pause. You wouldn’t be able to take in any information and you would be bewildered and lost. @@SaiAbitathaDUCIC I deal with client's specially from US and Uk daily.....even they sometimes take a pause in between sentences .As a Bengali amio apnio Jodi normal vabe kotha bolen majhkhane pause thake…. Because
1)Breathing (humans need to breathe, so they may pause in order to catch their breath).
2)In order to let the person they are talking to, comprehend what they have just said, to give them a moment to process.
3)To think - the speaker mightn’t know what to say next or have lost their train of thought, so they take a second to get back on track.
4)To make listening to them easier. Imagine listening to a lecturer who doesn’t take a single pause. You wouldn’t be able to take in any information and you would be bewildered and lost. (Links to the second point).
5)To add dramatic effect.
