I know the one thing that I always find a bit distressing when ever I am looking into Korean actors is that a lot of the times when they’re doing interviews or they giving speeches it’s on like their apologizing for lacking, even though they’ve given their all for a role and to entertain viewers. And I always wonder when they say they are sorry and that they are still lacking and that they hope that they can do better. I’m like where? Amazing actors or singers who give their everything to give you a great final product is still apologizing saying that they’re lacking and that they hope that they can be better received it. It’s ridiculous. the weight of public opinion is so heavy on them and so any little slip up any mistake what seem like it’s the end of the world. I feel like that dynamic needs to be flipped. Netizens shouldn’t be able to dictate or bully their entertainers. These are human beings just like everybody else. They have problems. They have emotions and they’re trying to navigate the world just like us. So the expectation of them to be perfect 100% of the time is unrealistic and completely unfair. It’s just heartbreaking every single time I hear another celebrity has committed suicide. There are no avenues for them to be themselves and to be honest and to seek help because they’re going to be judged and ridiculed and demonized. Beyond upsetting. I hope the ones who felt they had to leave in such a sad states are at peace now. 😢

I’ve noticed this too. I can’t comprehend the Korean mentality that makes people think it’s okay to send funeral wreaths to a company (HYBE) to be displayed in front of it in protest of someone’s (Suga) actions. It is just macabre as if they’re wishing for his death but yet when someone commits suicide they lament, “Oh no, whatever could have happened to make this promising person do such a thing?” Weellllll, maybe having such crazy standards of perfection, IDK 🤔🙄
This has to do with Korean society and culture - something which is not shown in their dramas and kpop because those are copies of American culture and entertainment.
Wow - he had an electrical engineering degree. He must have been very intelligent, and it seems like he was very well liked. Turning off the comments in his social media accounts was a huge red flag. The folks that manage these actors and idols must start being more proactive in evaluating the emotional health of their clients and get them help. So sad!
Well said. The sudden isolation even on socmed is a huge red flag. I already noticed something is unusual with his IG posts. Followed him there and almost instantly felt something is off. 😢. RIP.
They need to do something about the mental health within the entertainment industry, because of all of the saesangs and toxicity of the fans. For example in the K-pop industry, Sulli and Goo Hara both took their own lives, because of the hate they both got from all of the negative comments, backlash and hate from their fans as well as the saesangs that did anything to try and hurt their feelings badly. In my opinion, they should offer counselling and weekly sessions for K-pop idols, actors, musicians etc, so that they can all talk about their feelings and struggles as well as the pain that they might have, because of all of the hate and toxicity. They should also have their lifestyles changed as well to become more healthy and eat more healthy food as well as enough sleep and exercising healthily instead of eating less, having less hours of sleep and not exercising enough. they should also live in a safe and comfortable environment where they can feel more safe and less depressed and worried that they will get hurt or die. there are many actors and pop stars in the western world that have spoken up about their struggles with mental health and trauma that they faced within the entertainment industry. they need mental health support in South Korea and need to hide it less otherwise more people will keep on taking their own lives and there will be less people in the world.
For more than a decade most companies have now offered their artist access to mental health counseling some of the bigger agencies have groups for the entire company where people can come in several times a week and even smaller companies have been known to give the artist breaks when needed so there is definitely a lot of change happening and has happened. More is needed but I think it's naive to pretend like people within the industry have not recognized a problem and try to make reforms. There are a lot of Advocates with in Korea that care. It's also naive to suggest that this is somehow limited to the entertainment industry this is a systemic problem across the country and also around the world
@@ArohaStill There is still a bad stigma attached to seeking help from mental health in Korea. >It means you are weak minded < It is very hard for Men in general to accept that they need mental health therapy
Mental health doesn't work that way. Going to therapy doesn't make things better when you still remain in the situation that triggers a depressive state. Removing oneself entirely from triggering situation and then therapy is what may be effective. However that is not an option for Korean actors, hence, the tragic outcome.
As far as I've noticed, it's the general culture that has too much pressure on everyone. Even the youngest struggle with mental health problems due to massive pressure to get good grades in school. It's honestly just so sad seeing that
Such talented actor. Indeed, we would never know what ppl going through behind their beautiful smile. I hope he will find peace now. Those reading this, be kind and think 50 times before talking or writing about other ppl online or face to face. Living is already hard enough. Let's not add on burden to each other more.
Song Jae Rim was one of the very few Korean actors that I just ‘feel’ who is genuinely kind and good person behind the scenes 😢🫶💔 I fell in love with him as an actor when he played as Mo Il Hwa, then fell in love with him as a person when he first appeared in WGM 🪽 He’s been laid to rest, but he’ll never be forgotten
I recently just watched song jae rim fun staurant videos and was really getting into him as an actor he will be greatly missed. I hope he can finally now rest. It’s just very sad news of his passing sending love to his friends and family, and everyone who knew him. ♥️Love From Northern California♥️
Oh my God i think this is ingrained asian mentality that you are never enough no matter what you do. It starts in childhood as parents put unrealistic expectations on children that they spend their whole life trying to fulfill them. As one grows and is exposed to society, societal pressure kills their dreams and sadly sometimes them as well. I havent seen him in dramas but i recognize him very well and was very shocked and sad to know about this news. Truly sad. May he get the peace he truly deserves❤❤❤
These toxic people need to be identified and punished for malicious comments. After realizing what they have done deleting this account is going to absolve them . The number of idols and actors who have been ruined because of people like this is insane. The entire world has fallen in love with KDramas and to see how they are threatened and abused on social media is unbelievable.Korea, the world is watching..take better care of the people you love to brag about but do nothing to protect.
No, they don't, it's just people need to realise that some weirdo or kid online sending you hate is just ridiculous... but also the main issue is a societal problem in South Korea. There is immense pressure put on everyone and the lookism culture is so degrading and shallow; many things become superficial for people that can see through all the crap and depression is a tough beast to fight. Then you've got all the jealous people seeking to tear you down because they view you as being "fortunate" instead of hard-working...
This was one of the moments I wished I could time travel and just give him a big hug and tell him he's loved and still very much needed here. I was deeply saddened and can't imagine what those who knew him personally are going thru. good night sweetheart :(
Soooo sad SJR was a good actor. Wished that the world had treated u better. May those who ripped these celebrities apart out of envy n jealousy remember this… be conscious n responsible for what u say abt people. The world has lost another lovely soul !
He had so much going for him….work was good and he was liked by everyone…..so what was it that pushed him over the edge….we will probably never know…..but my heart aches to think that what ever it was he believed there was no way out but to leave us…..forever in our minds and hearts, we will miss you and that beautiful smile. Be at peace 🥲🥲🥲🩵
Have anyone ever considered that these celebs are being Murrderedd and the media is just brushing it off as mental health problems? what Diddy and Harvey Weinstein proved is that the industry is dirty, demonic and corrupt
Korean actors/idols need to learn to ignore negative comments about them on social media. Better yet, stop checking the comments section if it bothers them. It’s not worth taking your own life for people you don’t even know personally like the Knets/Kfans. Being in the entertainment industry is a survival of the fittest. As long as they’re doing their job, not stepping on someone’s toes & not doing anything hurtful towards anybody or themselves, nobody should be able to bother or threaten them. The management in the agencies should always check the mental status of their talents periodically. May his soul rest in peace.🙏🏼
So many young people in S Korea are dying and no one’s talking about mental illness. How do they think it’ll stop. Mental illness is not a weakness and it’s treatable. It’s usually helps along with counseling. Someone please get people together and take care of these young people. It’s beyond sad that the brightest stars are losing their happiness and no one is there for them. It’s just awful
I still remember him being my crush during his show 'we got married' ...I'm still in shock just when this video came in my feed...i instantly searched for what i saw is correct or not...but to my shock I found it was true that he was no more...Rest in peace Jae Rim.. u will always be alive in our memories
Same here, such a kind soul. I was surprised to see how pure he was on the show. I rewatched his couple sequences with So Eun so many times. This is just so sad. He will be missed.
It’s the most devastating news I heard all year long. He was such a bright soul. I just still CANT believe it. I’m so sorry we failed you. May you beautiful angel rest in peace. Thank you for all the amazing memories. We’ll miss you so much ❤️🕊️
highly competitive and materialistic society. no room for mistakes or rest, no time for personal life. no wonder why its suicide rate is one of the highest in the world. may he rest in peace.
Omg just seeing this now 😢 pray for their family and friends and fans at this moment. Protect your artist. Protect those lights no matter what always reach out and encourage and support them
Sad that this natural light is out.😢 Thank you for sharing with us.😊 To family thank you for sharing the light with us, and thank you for sharing your career with us. And two others remember there's more people out there that love you.
I was soo shocked and couldn’t believe this handsome man just left this world suddenly. I first watched him in Moon Embracing the Sun. He had such a mesmerizing smile. RIP wonderful man. Rest well and easy. 💔
so sorry you have been suffering with a bright smile all this time,,,,you are safe now,,no more pain,,,we love you forever,,,you will be missed my sunshine
So excruciatingly handsome. It’s hard to imagine how much he must have felt he had to be perfect all the time. So much pressure to always be “that guy”. Rest in peace and prayers of comfort to his family and loved ones.
Korean fans is SOOOOOOOO FANATIC with their artis..just bcoz their supports their artis it DOESN'T MEAN their own them..im so frustrating 😑 😒 for korean FANS!!!! please korean fans..PLEASE BE GOOD TO YOUR ATRIS!! GOD!!
How is it that the government doesn't legislate on the permissible content of social media regarding slander, defamation, disgraceful comments towards not only idols, famous personalities but on any living being. On a global scale, South Korea has the 4th highest suicide rate in the world, particularly among the elderly and young adults. Social pressure, work stress and mental health problems are key factors. How sad!
I’m so saddened by this and so incredibly sorry for his family and loved ones. It’s absolutely devastating how this keeps happening to these incredibly decent human beings, and yes they are human beings before they are celebrities and should be treated as such. Get your rest sweetheart ❤
What a loss of a wonderful, gifted and talented young man! This is a shocking tragedy!! I believe he was tormented by a saesang, an obsessive, intolerant stalker. Saesangs are dangerous fans who are a danger to idols. They cross the line with their obsessive behaviour. My condolences to the family.
He wasn't being stalked, as much such some crazy Japanese fan could said something. It's a fabrication of the Media, this industry gain many money victimizing the celebrities. I think he was depressed. A few years ago he appeared on a TV show showing how he spends a normal day at home. And he said that he has had to pay off his family's debts and take care of them, that's why he had studied so much about investments. It seemed to me that he had been through a lot at his age
So sad - Poor Mental Health is never obvious. Social media is really not helping, especially in Korea where you have to be “perfect”! There is no such thing as “Perfect”.
What’s occurring in the K entertainment industry that causes some celebrities to resort to Sulcide ?? I don’t think it’s just malicious behaviour from some fans, something sinister is occurring in the industry.😢
Don't forget that Korea is #1 in the suicide rate among OECD nations. #2 is not even close. It's not only celebrities; not by a long shot. It's the entire population.
No one will ever know the extent of another persons struggles but social isolation is one of the most prominent risk factors for sulcide, and I see again and again in interviews when Korean celebs are asked what they do on their days off, the answer is always “sleep” or “do nothing”, when asked if they spend time with friends the answer is always “it’s hard to make time in our schedule” or “I don’t have any friends” etc. in an industry where people are stalked and harassed on the daily and a minor (human) mistake can lead to the loss of your career/livelihood, their lack of friends/support systems is alarming.
Great actor. Just recently, I found out that we share a birthday . He is 5 years older. I watched many of his dramas. I am sad that he passed away. Talented actor. He will be missed.
Even though I had never seen or heard of him the day until the day he passed I became very sad and teary over this loss. I’ve only seen Korean K-pop and dramas for the last 2 1/2 yrs I’m amazed at the amount of celebrity losses there have been in that time period. I pray there are some big changes in mental health care and pressure on the celebrities. Rest in peace 😢😢😢😢😢
A talented actor & model. I wish he is able to manage the pressure & stress. Its always sad to see the complications of the entertainment industry that caused his death. His company should take care of their artist so they don't suffer such depression.
My first time seeing Jae Rim was in NELL's "The Day Before" MV. It is to this day my favorite song by them but wow that video has an entirely different feeling to it now. So heartbreaking.

The world has lost a beautiful soul, as so many other's have gone the same way. I am sorry for his family, as this is a constant situation in South Korea. South Korea has a beautiful culture, but somewhere along the way it fails it's youth. I believe that the popular crowd, actors, singers etc. care too much what others think. Criticisms from their citizens and others hit them really hard mentally. In truth, these folks aren't the ones singing, acting, performing etc. Such a sad situation. Life skills need to be put in place when the child is young so they know how to deal with difficult situations and the pressure they are put under. This is so heartbreaking. So young and now gone. No one will ever know how great he could have become. My heart goes out to his family and friends and too him. Lost too young.
The government of korea should impose a stricter abd harsher penalties on sasaengs since korean entertainment industry is one of their source of profit
They have huge k pop and k drama bussiness..but didn't have any Strict rule, the one make Sasaeng really sacrifie theirself😊..how many actor actres end with this kind of circle...please SAVE THEM ALL THE INDUSTRI WORKER
It is not so fair when a sasaengs obssession become their idols death threat do not get any harsh punishment but when an idols accused of something not even concrete proof will suffer severely for the sasaengs wrong accusations or even proven it is still not right to ruined idols life. So unfair!
So sad. My friend from university we lived in Kyrgyzstan. She is Korean born in Kyrgyzstan. She married a man from South Korea they have two daughters. She said that Korean life style is insane. It’s very overwhelming. Schools are insanely busy and crazy about studying. There is no spare time for kids just to play and have fun. Same with jobs. So she sent her older daughter to her mom to Kyrgyzstan to graduate and have normal life and having friends.
I fell in love with him watching Inspiring Generation (a great drama). He was so good, I didn't even recognize him for about 30 min. in Nail Shop Paris. I always wanted to see him in a nice, meaty lead role. That dream is gone. I will miss him so much. My heart is broken.
After Kim Soo Mi's passing, seeing Song Jae Rim on this side of the news was heartbreaking as well. He was a good and bright person. His performances were great even those where he barely spoke you could see and feel that he gave his all. It will always be sad to see anyone pass away like this. SK please do better. He's done well in this life. May he rest in peace.
This is very sad I am really emotional right now I never new he passed away he was very talented and always smiling mental health is very serious may his gentle soul rest in peace
So sad that a young talented man is no longer among us. This is happening way too much. Friends and families need to watch for signs of depression. Often times those signs are apparent and it is hard to confront someone but it could save their life.
So sad. We might think they are rich and happy, but behind the scenes, they're suffering. They can't live a normal life, because they think about what people will say about them all the times. As fans, we help to destroy these beautiful souls. The Korean entertainment industry should do more to support them. Rest in peace my dear.
I (Indonesian) had a long talk with a South Korean colleague years back about the tendency for South Korean actors & actresses to end their lives. He sided with their action by saying, "If life is not worth loving for anymore, why should one continue to live?" I said, "Dude, life is always worth living. You will always learn something new." Sadly, it seemed that unaliving oneself has been ingrained in their mind. Don't get me wrong, I have postpartum depression after delivering my long-awaited child before my 40th birthday. My fertility journey was tough too, so having postpartum depression seemed to be something "I shouldn't have", but mental health really is a tough thing to explain to others (and even to myself). My child turns 1 year old now. Her smile is everything.
May his soul rest in peace ..he's such a good actor, Mental health issue really need to give attention to avoid more incident like this..i will miss you. Rest in peace🙏🙏
Another precious life gone far too soon.he was extremely talented kind selfless, sweet and charming.pure of heart.he will be forever missed but never forgotten.not everyone with mental health issues show symptoms or signs and they and sometimes don't get the help they deserve.may be rest in peace our condolences to his family it's terrible that they don't get enough help with mental health or protection from stalkers crazy fans and haters and bullies it needs to stop now for goodness sake
The fans are killing their idols in S. Korea! It's heartbreaking! All the pressure on the entertainers and the judgement to always please is too much! No privacy and having to live a secret life is the price they are paying. It's a breaking point. When will it stop? Shame on all who are involved
This is a never ending sad situation in S. Korea and, so far, nothing has been done to resolve it. 😔

More is needed but I think it's naive to pretend like people within the industry have not recognized a problem and try to make reforms. There are a lot of Advocates with in Korea that care. It's also naive to suggest that this is somehow limited to the entertainment industry this is a systemic problem across the country and also around the world
Korean culture is so suffocating.
@@ArohaStill There is still a bad stigma attached to seeking help from mental health in Korea.
>It means you are weak minded <
It is very hard for Men in general to accept that they need mental health therapy
Song Jae Rim was one of the very few Korean actors that I just ‘feel’ who is genuinely kind and good person behind the scenes 😢🫶💔
I fell in love with him as an actor when he played as Mo Il Hwa, then fell in love with him as a person when he first appeared in WGM 🪽
He’s been laid to rest, but he’ll never be forgotten
He will be missed😢😢.
ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!!
@@BusanBoys71013 Not everybody.
I was deeply saddened and can't imagine what those who knew him personally are going thru. good night sweetheart :(
Such an iconic actor. He will be greatly missed.
This keeps happening. It's just too sad 😔💔.
Truly heartbreaking.
We’ll miss you so much ❤️🕊️
God bless you for sharing this. Thank you. I pray this is the last one of these reports
Still shocked and saddened...
May he rest in peace.
highly competitive and materialistic society. no room for mistakes or rest, no time for personal life. no wonder why its suicide rate is one of the highest in the world. may he rest in peace.
Omg just seeing this now 😢 pray for their family and friends and fans at this moment. Protect your artist. Protect those lights no matter what always reach out and encourage and support them
My deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and true fans. Another brilliant and talented individual gone way too soon. 😪
speechless 😢😢😢 may he rest in peace
so sorry you have been suffering with a bright smile all this time,,,,you are safe now,,no more pain,,,we love you forever,,,you will be missed my sunshine
A beautiful smile can hide so much sorrow.
GOD!!
you talk as if its only the korean fans being like that
How is it that the government doesn't legislate on the permissible content of social media regarding slander, defamation, disgraceful comments towards not only idols, famous personalities but on any living being.
Just because someone seems happy on the outside, we don't know what's going on in the inside. The saddest person always try to make others happy.
why those bright people wants to end their lives it’s too disturbing. They gave happiness to people but they can’t find happiness 😢
This breaks my heart. I’m so sorry and I pray for his eternal peace. He was a beautiful person.
I loved him in two weeks and moon embracing the sun. I am still shocked and heartbroken. He was such a beautiful person. May he rest in peace.
So sad - Poor Mental Health is never obvious. Social media is really not helping, especially in Korea where you have to be “perfect”! There is no such thing as “Perfect”.
I’m so sad he’s gone, loved watching his acting
Thank for bringing such talent to us your going be remembered here ALASKA ❤🙏🙏
So sad to hear and read this news, such a lovely man. A good actor and leaving this world much too early, sadens my heart.
Maybe bullying, mistreatment, not listening to their clients' needs, etc.
@@jioden9665 Very sad & worrying. Action to curb this problem is needed ASAP.😪🤔😱
범인은 일본팬이다
Great actor. Just recently, I found out that we share a birthday . He is 5 years older. I watched many of his dramas. I am sad that he passed away. Talented actor. He will be missed.
Even though I had never seen or heard of him the day until the day he passed I became very sad and teary over this loss. I’ve only seen Korean K-pop and dramas for the last 2 1/2 yrs I’m amazed at the amount of celebrity losses there have been in that time period. I pray there are some big changes in mental health care and pressure on the celebrities. Rest in peace 😢😢😢😢😢
There needs to be more avenues for those who are struggling with mental health to get the true help they need
its just so sad....
He was a very good actor.
Condolences to his family and friends. 🙏🏻💔🙏🏻
Omgosh so tragic, I’m on the last episodes of clean w a passion… he’s such a great actor, condolences to his family ❤
South Korea needs a reboot or search within themselves why is this country not able to support people with depression a d stop bullying.
Never going to happen, I could be wrong.
@ I know. 😢
Очень жаль молодого и талантливого артиста! Соболезнования родным,друзьям, коллегам!
A talented actor & model. I wish he is able to manage the pressure & stress. Its always sad to see the complications of the entertainment industry that caused his death. His company should take care of their artist so they don't suffer such depression.
I am so sadden to hear of his passing. NOLA, USA fan. Sending prayers and love to his family.
So sad, heartbreaking, condolences to the family. Rest peacefully 😔🥀🕊️
Noooo!!! So tragic! I love this actor 😢
If I could go back in time, I would reach out to him in million ways to tell you how much you were loved 💔💔💔😭😭😭😭😭
So sad losing such a talented young star😢
😢 May he rest In Peace.
It's truly so very sad.
he was one of my favorite characters in moon embracing the sun. may he be in peace wherever he is now.
My first time seeing Jae Rim was in NELL's "The Day Before" MV. It is to this day my favorite song by them but wow that video has an entirely different feeling to it now. So heartbreaking.
I literally thought about this the other day. Especially considering the theme of the song is about unaliving oneself
His such a good actor rest in peace jae rim.one of your fun from phillipines 😢😢😢😢😢

I can't believe he is no more. May his soul rest in peace.
Do you really believe that he will rest a peace? No one who take their own life will do. That you still have the opportunity to know the Lord Jesus.
So unfair!
🤦🤦🤦🤦 Noooo. It’s better to leave the fame and cool off than take your own life. I am speechless 😶
Oh no. I can't believe it 😥
This is very sad I am really emotional right now I never new he passed away he was very talented and always smiling mental health is very serious may his gentle soul rest in peace
So sad that a young talented man is no longer among us. This is happening way too much. Friends and families need to watch for signs of depression. Often times those signs are apparent and it is hard to confront someone but it could save their life.
He is the lead actor in Our Gap Soon. I watched it from episode 1 to 61 8 years ago. That's why he seemed so familiar 😭
Omg this is tragic, love and condolences to his family 😢
I am very sad, too many people are passing, he was so talented!😪
❤❤My heart goes out to him it's very sad when he was very loved by friends and his fans we had to lose him❤❤
So sad. We might think they are rich and happy, but behind the scenes, they're suffering. They can't live a normal life, because they think about what people will say about them all the times. As fans, we help to destroy these beautiful souls. The Korean entertainment industry should do more to support them. Rest in peace my dear.
God bless him, so talented.
The Moon that Embraces the Sun is my favorite historical and he was great..
My most sincere condonlenses to all his family, and friends may God give them the strength to endure this difficult time. 😥😥😥
Sorrowful news - an exceptionally great actor. You will be missed
So tragic and sad 😢😢😢 Why?? He was young, beautiful ,talented, and had so much more to give. Ooooh so sad!!! May He rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏
Mental health. I wonder how his relationship with his parents & siblings, if any, was😢 RIEP! young man🙏🏾
The ones who smile the brightest have.the deepest.struggles inside. 😢 Godspeed, Jaerim.🎉❤🎉
South Korea is a very sad entertainment country. Entertainers need to have a hard shell to survive.
I watxhed some of their clips on we got married, they look so good and so sweet together. This is so sad.
The fans are killing their idols in S. Korea! It's heartbreaking! All the pressure on the entertainers and the judgement to always please is too much! No privacy and having to live a secret life is the price they are paying. It's a breaking point.
When will it stop? Shame on all who are involved
