Appreciate your level-headed comments regarding fishing equipment advancements and improvements. I’ve learned so much about cover and fish reactions since starting to use FFS and 360. We all have to respect the resource. Thanks for the nice video!
I remember years ago when they tried outlawing the under water cameras because they were going to make people “catch more fish “ and even though it is a fun thing to have, we all see what happened with that situation! Thanks again for the content Tom! And keep using that FFS!!
Tom, appreciate the comments on the technology questions. It always comes down to the individual sportsman’s beliefs on taking a fair share of the resource and following the rules. We owe it to ourselves and the next generation.
This is why you are the best youtube angler. Been with ya since your musky fishing days and started to lose it while you were promoting walleye now, just lack of teaching information. But with the small boat stuff and mitchy's killer editing skills, these might be my favorite vids so far!! Keep it up
Good to hear. It's always a balance what we try to do in videos and walleye now obviously. Mitchy on the camera I think makes a big difference. Appreciate you watching!
Tom, I miss the days when you would go into more specific detail on lure presentation. As a newby to walleye fishing, coming from a bass fishing world, it was super helpful to me in feeling confident I am presenting an offering correctly without "over-working" my bait. That's what "caught" me ... 😉 ... Get back to that! As always, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Been a subscriber since the initial launch. I'm just pointing out what "caught" me. The feedback, I thought, might be helpful in that aspect. Tight lines ... 😁👍
Go back through his video catalogue, rewatch the videos that you’re thinking of and take notes or make the mental notes. Then watch the clip again and pay attention to what Tom is doing and put it together. Then you’ll see him do those techniques in other videos, even when he doesn’t specify the details…but he’s always showing the lures he’s using. So it’s all right there. that’s what I’ve done anyway. Part of the fun of being a fisherman is the trial and error of fine tuning techniques.
If you’re looking for viewer suggestions on what where you should fish, I personally would like to see a “trip around Wisconsin”. Meaning I think it would be pretty cool to break WI down into four or five areas and hit up some smaller lakes that hold walleyes and go into detail about that lake: structure, lure, presentation. For example, I live in Waupaca county and I would like to see you come fish the Waupaca chain of lakes. The only issue with that is, 4 of the bigger lakes allow for skiers and recreational activities but there are no wake lakes but you still get the pontoon cruisers. If not that, any smaller lake would suffice.
Happy Easter! That was such a Real video. You don't always Slay Giants. People see your videos and think you just land on fish and all awesome quality 20+ inchers. I know how hard you work at it and on top of that the amount of editing you guys pound through. I appreciate your videos so much for the information and tip, techniques. Thanks for all you do.
Happy Easter, Tom Love the latest video well said on conservation/catch & release. I know you enjoy ND I think you would put a great show together on upper Oahe reservoir - the Missouri river above and below Bismarck is full of big Walleyes right now you would love it. Good luck safe fishing.
Great response to the forward facing sonar that has been my response too at what extent do we stop do we ban all fish finders because they all help improve your odds of catching fish but none of them make the fish bite
I think you can fish the way you want . But I don’t think catch and release comes more important then ever. Just because your limit, let’s say, is four for walleye doesn’t mean you take four every time. But I do think for professional bass fishing they should ban it. Hank Parker did a very good video on this people should watch.
I love the small boat series. I am looking forward to seeing where you venture to next. Tom, do you have a favorite app that you use which monitors river water levels and flow rates in the state of Wisconsin? If so, please share if you don't mind. Thanks!
Mission accomplished with a stud big fish! The small boat series is great! I have also noticed that the video footage, quality, and editing has stepped up to a new level. Looks really great and you could move your channel to a full-blown sponsored TV series if you ever want to. Question for your next episode - does Mitch focus exclusively on video or does he manage to fish in between segments? Second question does your 12V Jon Boat MinnKota have the new advanced GPS Drift Mode? This feature seems like a game changer to me… PS - I think my boat needs a Jet Boil 😊. Suggestions for the next trip (all selfishly motivated) - Menominee River, Oconto River, Petenwell Flowage, Burt Lake (MI), Lake Gogebic (MI)...
You will probably like our next video it is at one of those locations. Mitch just films. He really likes putting the videos together almost more than fishing. I have used drift mode on my quest trolling motor on my warrior. It is a cool feature.
Hey Tom, are you going to put together a walleye package of hot lures like you did last year? I went back to the one you did a year ago but it's not available.
Hey Tom, I'm wondering if you'd be up for a challenge? The lemonwier river is a trib of the Wisconsin. I'm wondering (with your walleye wizardry) if you could make some content fishing the lemonwier river? I've grown up hearing stories of people catching some trophy walleye and have even seen a couple pics but it would be purdy neat to see you put your short boat in and do work. Cheers!

Do you not vertical jig when in the rivers? We do a lot of vertical jigging in our rivers here in Michigan. Can you explain the casting and jigging? Are you still drifting with the boat?
In super heavy current like some of the rivers in Michigan vertical jigging and drifting is more commonly used. We don't have many river with that level of current here. I prefer to spot lock and pitch jigs shallow most of the time

On top of that, at least in MN, they have tightened way up on limits but their prices for fishing licenses have not come down. I don't think you're taking into account the additional fish that die from CNR. Not all of the fish we catch and release survive. I think the bigger problem with FFS is ice fishing. I see a lot of people fishing basin crappies in 30'-40' of water and sorting through 50 fish to get 10 keepers. The fish they cnr aren't going to survive and they wouldn't be able to stay on the fish like they do without ffs.
Basin crappies are the most susceptible to the average guy using ffs. But whether you have a flasher or a ffs basin crappies were always pretty easy to pillage. Which I'm sure is part of reason we are seeing panfish bags managed much more closely over the past few years. Which is a good thing
IMHO, Bass Master or higher end tournaments should not use live scope, 360 etc. technology. Another fisherman, technician, professional vs other. Outside I think it’s fine with lower bag limits etc.
People wanna ban FFS and 360 tech, but don’t forget about the people fishing on shore and don’t even have a boat! Lol you might as well ban all watercraft because it literally can put you on-top of fish. People complaining too much these days… Just saying 😂

That’s why we should worry what others are doing . As for the rest . There will always be people that are average at what they do
Why should it be banned. I just like to fish! I'll keep fishing and enjoying it regardless. If you wanna start banning products that help you catch more fish.... that's gonna turn into a slippery slope real fast.
How about not fishing for spawning fish, all I see is American guys fishing for fish on spawning beds. There's a reason Canada fishing puts everything else to shame.
@TomBoley I'm not shitting on you. I just think fishing spawning fish does a lot more damage then any livescope. If ever up in Ontario you got to try fall quinte walleye, you wouldn't be disappointed.
@kcrowe Fishing during the spawn in rivers has absolute no effect on walleye populations. I live on lake Winnebago. There are 19 public boat landings in Winnebago county alone. One rig leaves, another takes its spot. Three guys per boat, nine trolling boards per boat. Limits every time and none practicing catch and release. That’s what will…
It won't be...not a chance in hell. How would enforce it..wardens have enough to do, then sit in a boat and look for a guy using FFS. It's funny how people bitch about this. But we have all this fancy technology in our everyday life. I bet I can guarantee you got an AC unit and/furnace in your house. Push of a button and it keeps your house at one temp. It's the same freaking thing. Now it creeps into the fishing world and the crybabys come out. Say what you want, it's not going away. Don't use if you don't want or give it a shot and see how cool it is
@gloria Only a wannabe who can’t catch a fish cries so much. Waaaah, waaaah 😩 Can’t wait for more tears when you mom tells you that FFS will never be banned.
@@millhouse2660 lol, how would they enforce it? You’re kidding right? Oh I don’t know, I’m guessing they would enforce it just like they do every other law or regulation out there

Fishing during the spawn in rivers has absolute no effect on walleye populations.
I live on lake Winnebago. There are 19 public boat landings in Winnebago county alone. One rig leaves, another takes its spot.
Three guys per boat, nine trolling boards per boat. Limits every time and none practicing catch and release. That’s what will…
go catch some pre spawn smallmouths!!
Another snagged fish using ffs.
Lol, only a goof would compare braided line and trolling motors to forward facing imaging. I’m very much looking forward to it being banned
Don't use if you don't want or give it a shot and see how cool it is
@@millhouse2660 I guarantee you it will be banned eventually. Cry elsewhere
@gloria
Only a wannabe who can’t catch a fish cries so much.
Waaaah, waaaah 😩
Can’t wait for more tears when you mom tells you that FFS will never be banned.
@@millhouse2660 lol, how would they enforce it? You’re kidding right? Oh I don’t know, I’m guessing they would enforce it just like they do every other law or regulation out there
@@badmoonryzin7251 I don’t need FFS to catch fish. That’s for guys like you
Come to south Bull Shoals and try your tricks
Is Shelby still in your life?
Yessir.
