- Every year I do a tradition with my kids were making a big breakfast and then they come home to something special. Well this year my kids were really tired and didn’t get up, luckily, I had already planned to make these sweet baskets for them so when they got home from school, they would have a surprise just to celebrate back to school.
I got everything all organized and ready to go so when they came home, they walked into the kitchen which is where all my kids walk into when they come into the house to see the things I put together for them.
I wanted to do a back to school backpack theme, so it was items that they can carry in their backpack and use at school. So I picked out their favorite things and then added gift cards for lunch because they’re in the upper grades at school they can leave for lunch. And they say that they hate the school lunches and they go to McDonald’s every day so I thought well I might as well buy a couple gift cards to help them out .
They absolutely loved the basket themed present for school and they have already used most of their McDonald’s gift cards. I guess you only live once right 😂😂🤷🏼♀️

I love making gift baskets. That was so sweet of you to do that. I love your channel and family. You are the same age as I am. I have one child, and I’m an empty nester with 2 precious fur cats. They are both rescues. It’s still is always nice to feel needed as a mom.
I would have loved a special back to school basket. Such a cute idea. We don’t really do special back to school things besides the standard new clothes and shoes.
It lets your kids know they are loved and how proud you are of their hard work.

I can relate to lunch during the holidays! My dad used to take each of us out for baked,stuffed lobster and Christmas shopping. I grew up in New England and this was a time honored tradition😊

Mixing up Brendan and Noah's name made me laugh. I do this constantly at home. My dog is the size of a human and he's crazy hyper for being eight years old. My teenaged son also has a crazy amount of energy and he is non-verbal autistic but LOUD. The two of them crash all over the house together, knock over drinks, jumping in place together, and make messes everywhere, like all besties. I'm constantly accidentally calling out to my dog to stop jumping and go put his outfit on and to my son to stop jumping and barking. Then I stop and think because they both stare at confused old mom and I'm like, "Reverse that! Athan, please get dressed and Worf, please stop barking. The neighbors are going to think the house is falling!"😂😂🤸🐕

Very cute idea and a fun surprise. My daughter is taking a sign language course though the community college after her regular 7th grade school day. I took her to Starbucks after as a surprise so I love that I’m not the only one who does cute little surprises on first day or random surprises ❤❤❤

My mom would always do these kinds of things for different occasions too when I was growing up, and to this day they are still one of my favorite memories and would always make me feel sooooo loved and special. It made me want to continue to get good grades, do good things and just be a good person continuously knowing how proud of me she was. It’s nice to say, but it’s just so different and meaningful when it’s effort put into doing thoughtful little things like this, even a home made favorite meal or snack. I bet even if they don’t mention it a lot, that they’ll always remember this fondly.

@Justthebells10 my parents only have my sister and me. Im 40 she is 33 and both my parents get us still confused
@natashaw401 my oldest sister is 49, my other sister is 47 and I'm 41 and my Mom still calls us each others names until she finally gets it right. It's happened my whole life so we're all 3 used to it. Sometimes I even get my husband and son's mixed up lol. To me it's just a natural part of being a busy Mom lol.
Wow, school lunches no good? Your school taxes pay for those free(breakfast?)lunches! Have you tried to get better lunch program through PTA involvement? School board involvement? Not every kid can go outside of school for lunch, or have the money to do something else.
You actually can’t go off campus for lunch until you’re a junior I think. So my kids all stayed on but it’s kind of like a treat. Once you become a senior in older, they like to go off campus cause I think it makes them feel like they’re all grown up. And I don’t pay for their lunches every single time. This was just a nice treat for back to school 😊
It must be an American thing to buy your kids extra as they are still at school even though you have already spent a fortune before they even went back to school on what they need, it's very strange, or its trying to out do another family on what you buy, again very strange x
I think it's sweet to make gift baskets for kids just to wish them good luck on a new school year. It's just a way to show love.❤❤
