Naming 2 or 3 on talion would cause so many hits in the first few games, especially since they're such common power and toughness values, even on the cards you were trying to aim for the cmc of half the time
Right!? 😂 when I try to emulate Legend. The game seems to always perceive my plays as greedy rather than strategic. It then proceeds to punish me like a 100lb altar boy in a church with very naughty priests 🥺🥹
Kind of funny, in game 3 if I'm not mistaken they could've cast goose for X = 4 to avoid paying the tax for Talion, but they chose 2 instead so that they could sacfirice a food. However, that meant that the Faerie Fencing was just enough to kill it.
35:30 It's hard to say, but I'd argue that naming 3 for Talion would have been the better choice. It doesn't help against the troll, but covers the Triplets, as well as the Knight's creature half. Good game though!
Man, this set is going to be absolutely fire! Im so excited to see what you got brewing up your sleeve every step of the way. Awesome deck Luca! You're the best!!!!! 💯🙌
Random comment, I'm sorry, but this is the first Eldraine video I'm watching, and the first Eldraine anything, so I need to get this out: Eldraine art is fucking insane!!! Holy crap, it's so good! Now the video. c:
This is the first deck arch type I'm going to build. I've been bored with standard for ... the last two or three sets, but seeing farie's and rats got me excited again.
35:12 Is it just me or you seem to only think about mana value when choosing what number to go for? Choosing 3 for example would hit way more cards including the Triplets without having to choose 6.
I'm really excited about the possibilities with a faerie shell. I know you were trying to play as many new cards as you can and not solve standard with your first deck, but I think a that Sheoldred plus the faerie shell sounds like the really great bones of deck that could be tier 1 competitive depending on the format shake out. Thanks for featuring this first. I can't wait to see how faeries evolve from here.
On match 4, I think it would have been better to name 3 with Talion. The creature you were playing around had power and toughness 3 and so it would have triggered anyway, and you would also have had triggers for the mosswood dreadknight!
Really curious to see what decklist the community settles on. I have a hunch the "play the good black spells, and add in a fairy package" is going to be the way it goes.
I wish we could play constructed with just one set at a time. Like being able to play the most recent set matches can be done anytime. And then each day theres a different set focus that rotates each day from standard sets, and maybe another from historic. Just i prefer games with much smaller card pools so common cards are actually usable. Like today is kamigawa and tomorrow is brothers war or whatever, and if i want to at any time i can play just wilds of eldraine.
Sounds like you’d enjoy standard pauper. Which I think will eventually get added to Arena, there are events now and then. It is standard but no rares or mythical. Standard has really become sort of a “good stuff” format but without the rares decks need to be much more themed and synergistic.
Hey, how do you feel about splashing white to play Raffine? I have been playing the deck that way, and raffine feels so much better than his faerie knockoff
As cool as the deck is, I imagine a more competitive version: Turn 1 cut down Turn 2 faerie vandal Turn 3 Raffine Turn 4 Sheoldred Faerie deck at its finest
I don't understand why Faerie Fencing is worded like that. It could just say "costs (3) less to cast if you control a faerie" so you wouldn't have to worry about having your fae die in response
Fairy tribal (yes, it's tribe) gets one of the best black 1cmc spells of all time. Meanwhile, Torch the Tower can't go face. And they want me play this Standard? 😅
I don't think ego drain can be good enough, the whole point of thoughtseize/inquisition is to disrupt the early turns of your opponent to gain a tempo advantage, this being delayed by a whole turn and maybe being negative CA if they have removal is a bit meh... but I guess in standard you don't have any other 1CMC discard beside Duress
You don't always need TS for tempo adv. in the early game, sometimes you just need to take opp Atraxa on t4. I think the fairy counterspell and the TS makes this deck pretty competitive in competent hands.
In standard you’re fine with it being delayed a bit. Especially in this standard that’s a bunch of midrange battles the early turns are far less emphasised than in more aggressive standards.
Naming 2 or 3 on talion would cause so many hits in the first few games, especially since they're such common power and toughness values, even on the cards you were trying to aim for the cmc of half the time
I think maybe he forgot about the power/toughness thing 3 was the best name by far
1 life is plenty 😂

1=/=0
The only life point that matters is the last one
@@klaiken989damn, we're you the altar boy?

Poor Maloney losing in the mirror! 😢
You could kill the Gruff Triplets in response to its etb to prevent counters from being distributed
Good point!
And killing it with Fairy Fencing gets around their death trigger as well.

Yeah, 3 makes more sense than 6 either way.
Alright. This convinced me. Bitterblossom art print it is. 🎨
I cant believe Luca battled Post Malone! Such an awesome match!!!
I'm so excited to play some faeries. They comprised most of my deck waaaaay back in Urza's block and then again in Lorwyn.
I just finished your set review, let's goooo!
Bro I could not. Big respect.

Agreed some of my favorites
IS this why I've been running into faeries constantly ?!

Yes, in that spot 3 would've made more sense than 6.
I didn’t even think the set was out yet! What a legend!
It's not
This was a special pre-release event for content creators

This deck looks fun to play. Can't wait for the new set. Hopefully it helps change things up.
This was a great video. Also im curious whether it is better to focus on power/toughness over mana cost when it comes to talion
New set vid! Yay!
I'm sure this deck will be the bane of this fall.

Although naming 4 to play around Troll also made some sense.

@@Terracronz I dunno, I'm not too familiar with the terms and what they mean.

Grazie.
Thank you!
I think there's enough space for at least 1 sheoldred.❤
yeah buddy!!!!
first game was quite impressive! I don't have that kind of optimism and dedication :D
Ehh, who needs sleep. Lets go
Hey, how do you feel about splashing white to play Raffine?
I have been playing the deck that way, and raffine feels so much better than his faerie knockoff
I don't know if I wish this deck was stronger or not, but it's fun and balanced I guess
Oh God, I'm getting rouges vibes
Talion in a Ratadrabik deck looks fun. Does this work, can you name more than one number or does it override the previous one?
as much as I don't like creature decks I must say these games all being so close means we are in a very healthy and good standard
Building your deck around a tribe is a big commitment, but straight-up thoughtseize is a pretty big payoff
As cool as the deck is, I imagine a more competitive version:
Turn 1 cut down
Turn 2 faerie vandal
Turn 3 Raffine
Turn 4 Sheoldred
Faerie deck at its finest
I think your opponent in Match 2 may have been Post Malone
The Apple I-Talion
I don't understand why Faerie Fencing is worded like that. It could just say "costs (3) less to cast if you control a faerie" so you wouldn't have to worry about having your fae die in response
It’s templated in such a way that losing your only faerie in response doesn’t matter.
Well it's not the same because the mana value of the spell would be different
Fairy tribal (yes, it's tribe) gets one of the best black 1cmc spells of all time. Meanwhile, Torch the Tower can't go face. And they want me play this Standard? 😅
Poor Malone 😢
why would you ever pay mana to play the fencing when you have a faerie in play? it's -3/-3 for B
If you need more then -3/-3 to remove a creature
I hope that faeries are similar to rogues when they were popular in standard
Already early access?
Is it just me or were exactly 2 color cards not gold border on MTGA until now?
They do look a little different now, so might be the case.
Will you ever do modern format again?
If it comes to Arena!

@@poiri mmmh yeah might be my modern background that bamboozled me
You do have Dread Fugue in standard which is actually a fine card.
Gah! They's done cannibalized Lorwyn... eldraine is fine - but the flavour of the earlier set was, for me, more flavourful.
is there a viable Fairy Lord card in current standard?
🧚♀️
Is Faeries the new Rogues?
🙄
👉👈
Wouldn't Syycopate theoretically be better than Make Disappear?
Not quite, although there are situations where it can be.
oh man, I am sensing new Rogues approiching Standart... oh no
😊
You should of picked 3 for game 4
Yeah 3 was definitely the pick over 6, I think 4 was still reasonable given the Troll.
Why not bitterblosom?
It's not Standard legal.
😂😂😂😂

i like wilds of eldraine as a whole, but turning the multicolored cards into gold doesn't help my deckbuilding tbh

This shit ia already Broke... and everybody knows it.. Bo3 Standard is the only real Magic...
Can you please lend me some gold
Off all deck brewing shit you choose obvious tribal fairies.Thats AliasV level of deckbuilding.SHAME.
I think talion is going to be an always name 2 card
