I’ve loved horse lords for a long time, never ever did they put out one bad song, let alone album. I saw them with Matmos in Austin once and it’s one of the most memorable shows of my life. Everyone in the band is so cool, so humble, and their music is so unique and fun. What a great band, glad they’re still going strong!
Finally! I hope I am still allowed to like this album after watching the video. Edit: I still am, neat also, the closing track is based on a generative method for ringing church bells, apparently.
You should review Sam Prekop, formerly from the Sea and Cake, now doing amazing modular synth music. Or his duo with John McEntire, Sons Of... They're old guys, but hey, nothing wrong with that, no?
I didn't liked this album as much as you but I believe that there were some really good transitions on it. I think the first tracks are really good and there's some inmaculate playing on this one but it didn't wow me as much as I would have liked. It didn't sounded with as much creativity or inventiveness as some of their other material. But maybe in the future my opinion will change.
