Sound, clear, & fresh lighthearted yet solid guidance on rearing a family. Look at the wonderful example of the family he raised...speaks volumes! All of America would be better off having adhered to brother Lehman. Our future generation is only as good as the critical rudimentary principles we instill in the children of tomorrow.
@purpplelover1 I've read his book and listened to him talk about it in various interviews many times. He's plan is spot on. He says don't praise the results but the efforts towards the results. Like, "Great job you really concentrated hard on that", or "You didn't make the first shot but you kept at it until you got it right, I'm so proud of you for that."
Purpplelover, I think he was making a point to not praise your child for not doing anything. Praising them just to praise them isnt going to make them behave better.
So, train your child like a dog. Here's a "quick fix". Don't necessarily need to change the heart (which is scriptural) but just have them react to a stimuli. Sad. Snazzy and funny talker, but not Biblical. You don't grow a relationship and a heart for Christ in a few days. Here's a suggestion for those coming here looking for help. Look up Tedd Trip. You'll be glad you did. You don't have little "ankle biters", you have little souls who need to know Jesus and a heart that yearns for Him.
