I thought the fights and lightsaber movements in the clone wars were a great improvement but now the new game will beat it. I especially love that they made it so you won’t just be spamming the same button to fight.
Same here. I admit to spamming X when I’m using a character that uses a blaster. Hey at least it’s better than that old system that the execs tried to get the developers to add that was thankfully dropped when they realized that the testers were only using one button to fight with. *Sigh* the development of the skywalker saga was a mess and I really feel sorry for the developers that had to endure terrible working conditions just to get this game out. Now if only we could have a decent Star Trek game for once as the last one was Star Trek Online although bridge crew does count as that was the last one to be released that isn’t a P2W mobile game and Resurgence is looking alright although it doesn’t look like the game is going to be able to maintain a stable frame rate. Thankfully despite the multiple issues that occurred during development the skywalker saga isn’t a broken mess the mess that Star Trek Resurgence is likely going to be when it releases.
Bro.... As soon as he said the words "BRING BACK TINY DEATH STAR" everything just came back to me. The fun I had just moving an elevator up and down, upgrading my restaurants, and the sadness I felt when it was removed from the app store. Thanks for the nostalgia, Bomb!
OH MY GOSH THE JANGO FETT ADVENT CALENDAR GAME! Man, I am so happy to see that showcased! That brings so much nostalgia when me and my bro could get on the computers at target, my mom's workplace, and just play web games together. We played miniclip, coolmathgames, all the OGs, and yet that advent calendar game was the most addicitive one. Thank you for the nostalgia!
the video just unlocked my memories of playing Lego Star Wars: The Quest For R2-D2 on my old family pc. I used to play that game so much as a kid but i completely forgot about it until now lol.
I haven't thought about those old browser games in years! There was one that you didn't cover, which I remember playing so much back in the day. It was a 2d sidescroller tie-in to Lego Star Wars 3, where you just platformed around with other people and did puzzles to unlock different characters. Good times!
Honestly the standout of "The complete Saga" was that they had no dialogue. That limitation allowed them to create some of the best Lego humour. I felt like once Voice Actors got involved a lot of that creative humour disappeared because they had no reason to find a creative way to portray dialogue. The standout being Vader holding up a family picture to Luke and just pointing at it.
I've played only Complete Saga and LSW III, now I'm on the last stretch to Skywalker Saga. Gotta say, LSW III was great, especially the large-scale battles were very addicting, but Complete Saga still has a place in my heart. I hope that Skywalker Saga will also find one.
@Grand Master Yoda Yeah! Definitely! I *almost* 100%'d the game in like 2 weeks. I'm saying "almost" because there are bugs that prevent me from fully completing two levels, so I'm stuck at like 99.87%. But other than that, it's a blast!
@@witchamy You almost 100% the ENTIRE GAME in two weeks? Like, unlocking all the ships, characters enz. Finding all the kyber bricks. Unlocking all the extras???? How.
God, I remember when my parents bought me my first console, a PS2 with Star Wars 2: the Original Trilogy. It was my first video game and was what pretty much started my downward spiral (depending on how you look at it 😆) of gaming. It really does hold a special place in my heart (as well as that tune from the cantina hub).
The Complete Saga is my favorite, but I will always have a soft spot for Lego Star Wars II, because there was a bug where if you would force push R2-D2 into quicksand or something like it, it would just rapidly overlap the audio of his death sound. In fact, this worked for all characters that could be force pushed.
The mention of The Quest for R2-D2 brought back a wave of nostalgia from the elementary school computer lab, I loved it so much. I sucked at it, but I loved it nonetheless.
7:01 "Luke and his daddy Vader. How you doing daddy?" "YO DUDES!" Idk why but that honestly made me laugh so much. Apart from that, I really loved this video, it gave me a lot of nostalgia for when I used to play these right after school with my brother.
1:09 - Small correction, but Traveler's Tales (Tt) games had been around for a while by the time Lego Star Wars: The Video Game was released in 2005, the earliest game I know was developed by them was Sonic 3D Blast/ Sonic 3D Flickie's Island for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Sega Saturn, which was released in 1996 if I recall correctly. They also developed Sonic R, Crash: Wrath of Cortex, and my 2nd favorite Crash Bandicoot game behind Crash 4, that being Crash Twinsanity. This doesn't make this video any less good, I just wanted to point out that Tt Games has made a bunch of other games before the gave us the Lego game Series that they are known for.
"The year was 2005 and newly formed TT Games" Whoa whoa! Travelers Tales was making games all the way back on the Sega Genesis. Theyre the ones who made Sonic 3d Blast and Sonic R. One of the lead programmers has a channel on here called Game Hut, where he goes into all the technical stuff about games he used to work on. I beleive he even mentions Lego Star Wars.
TT Games (the holding company for both Traveler's Tales and Giant Interactive) was indeed founded in 2005. Traveler's Tales, on the other hand, was founded way back in 1989.
I bought Lego: The Force Awakens, but never finished it. Something about it was not like the old The Complete Saga. But This newest The Skywalker Saga is giving me that old feeling I got from The Complete Saga.
I remember thinking lego Star Wars 3 was such a step up in terms of the game itself (still think that in terms of content they should’ve waited until at least after season 3)… looking at what we have now with Skywalker saga that is mind blowing in and of itself
It's interesting how I watched the Freemaker Chronicles a little while back, and I keep wanting that to be in one of these lego games. Just a game where you gotta focus on building ships and fixing them or taking remaining functional bits and slamming them together. I feel like it shows a lot of how the parts of the Lego company don't communicate a lot.
Surprised this didn’t include the website game for Lego Star Wars the Clone Wars. Was a side scroller where you get to terminals and unlock new characters and all kinds of stuff. I loved playing it when it first came out. Hopefully others remember what I’m talking about.
I was born 2007 when this game came out I wasn’t very old but my father had a PS2 or PS3 and I enjoyed the hell out of that game and still have the game today
I liked the fact that in the first one as Yoda you could hop in the senate chair to hover around. I also really liked the endor level on the D.S version of Lego Star Wars Ii where you had to jump between the lego logs. I had the game boy version of Lego Star Wars I to use in the back slot of my D.S I found that game really hard compared to the others
So when you mentioned that Tt games was newly formed in 2005, that's actually not correct. Previously they had gone by the name Traveler's Tale in 1989, and then shortened it to the Tt acronym around the time the first Lego game had released. However they've been making games since their formation and released their first game in 1991.
He is entirely correct. While it's true that _Traveler's Tales_ was created in 1989, at no point was he ever talking about that company. He said _TT Games_ , which is an entirely separate company (founded 2005) that owns both Traveler's Tales and their publisher Giant Interactive. There was no renaming, either - Traveler's Tales still exists today, as does TT Games.
Oh the memories!! I can just vividly remember playing LSW 2 on my DS as a little one and being so, so excited that i finally unlocked Yoda on Valentines Day!! (:

We were at school and we crossed paths, asked each other what games were we playing and we both mentioned Lego Star Wars 2
The complete saga was my favourite ever since I got it, but with the release of the skywalker saga, I would have to say that it is currently my favourite.
I know the reason why Lego Star Wars the Original Trilogy and Lego Star Wars the Video Game were made. It's because well back in 2005 they were originally going to make the Complete Saga, but they didn't have enough room on the one disk they didn't have enough data, so they had to release the games separate from each other. That's until the complete saga came out in 2007, they were able to fit more content onto one disk they couldn't fit all 18 original trilogy levels and all 18 prequel trilogy levels on one disk back in 2005 just a fact. Not sure you knew but it's out there now.
