I think what is so great about half muffled with the tenor behind is that you get the lovely sustain of the tenor as the other bells ring out the half muffled back stroke. Sounds so good on 10 with such a BEAUTIFUL tenor, surely one of the finest in the UK Mind you St Andrews in Sydney is also beautiful as is St Mary which my dad hung in 1986 for Whitechapel
Always loved half muffled ringing I think because you get to hear every bell, But these bells to me have the same type of warmth and depth and glow that YorkMinster do. Simply BEAUTIFUL
Beautiful sound, your camera's picked up the tone really well, they sound majestic and some good striking too. I love half muffled ringing, and even more so when it's like this!!
Beautiful, i love the tone of those bells, super ringing wonder what method they were ringing here all we know it is an odd bell method as the tenor bell is covering.
maidstone10 Thanks, I reckon they are a sensational sounding 10 Im sure i would have rung there sometime in the 60s. I do remember going on a foundry outing (white chapel) to kent and we went to Maidstone and I do remember ring at Quex Park by oil lamp. I wonder why the tenor goes up wrong????? i know you have a contraption to flip the clapper.
