Product Review: BraveX Pistol Sight Pusher and Installation Tool

- In this Product Review I take a look at the BraveX Sight pusher tool. This is supposed to be a universal sight pushing and installation tool for most modern pistols. I will tell you that I found this product to be lacking in several areas and found that it really needs to be upgraded and changed before I could recommend it. Although it is designed for light applications and hobbyists, I should note that it had great difficulty trying to remove the Sig P320 sights in this video.

If you use a hammer when all the pressure builds up, it helps it come free to turn more. It should start moving. Usually you tape it off or put plastic guards to prevent damage to the slide
Yes, but I find that often the rubber or plastic breaks, cracks or warps with pressure.
Thanks for the honest review. This design is used by several distributors, not just BraveX. Excellent video.
Thank you so much! Yeah, I now see other companies marketing this under different names.
Its originally a Wheeler design. But since their manufacturing is out of China now my guess is all these "brands" are just licensed copies coming out of the same factory.
I have the same tool repackaged by wheeler. The instructions warn you about metal on metal against the slide. They recommend you use masking tape to protect your slide. This tool works awesome as an adjuster but nothing beets a good set of brass and nylon punches in my experience.
Thanks for the info and I agree about the punches.
The top part of the sight tool was on backwards to be able to remove rear sight. How it was in the video is how you set it up to remove the front sight, flip the top 180* to tack off the back sight.
Thanks for the info.
Why would that make a difference?
Thanks again, Jason
You are very welcome.
The base is recessed to fit in a vice I have no problems with mine. Sights normaly go in from left to right and are removed right to left unless SIG just had to be different. The VISM is a good tool but the other is far better designed and works better. Yes I have both.
I am glad yours works well for you.
I have one... I wish I'd seen your video first. I've been fighting with the rear sight on my HK45 for over an hour now. I probably should have stopped when the pusher block wouldn't come off to be flipped over... Buyer beware!
I agree. I am sorry I wasn't able to help sooner!
Always use layers of painters masking tape to protect your slide when using sight tools.
Good advice.
Slide definitely looked cocked at an angle during the first attempt.
Yeah, does not hold steady in the tool.
Would have liked to see the other tool remove the sights
Well, this review was about this sight pusher so I felt it was not needed. However, I did a review on that sight pusher too.
You mentioned the HK issue. What model HK? I want it for the VP series.
The VP has a slanted slide profile so this one might not work for it.
I’ve tried this one, the handle twisted off it. wasn’t fastened to the shaft in any way seemed to be glued. 1911 Novak sights. P. O. S.
I agree. I am very disappointed in it. There are better options.
I had the same issues with this "sight pusher". The slide definitely twist in the vise... Waste of money.
Yeah, this is not a very good product.
Good morning, Jason, I have been looking for a reliable sight tool for some time. Cheers
Good ones are actually hard to find.
What did you end up getting?
I have the VISM site tool. Works great. Have not had any problems with it.
Me either. It is a good one.
good for cz p10s? another i got isnt
I think so.
Bought it. Tried it. Not a fan of it. Its going back.
Yeah, it could be a lot better. They need to go back to the drawing board.
