Only issue is I noticed the timestamp for skipping to gameplay is a bit early so it skips letting us think about the mulligan with you if we decide to hit the button.
Perfect amount of info. As always, love the graphic design. I think at least one more gameplay round would make these videos more comprehensive (though i prefer 2 more). In addition, I appreciate the opener about this being an aggro with more decisions. Resonates with me with my struggle with pure aggro decks. Keep it up!
I played that deck today at my local LGS tournament. Matchup against Ruby/ Amethyst was pretty favorable for the deck. I struggled against lime/lemon Aggro but my deck was not particularly tuned to beat that deck (I did cut the befuddle). I played Zeus instead of Rafiki and some top end cards like 8 ink elsa (1 copy) and Ursula (2 copies) which won me a pretty doomed game against control in the late game. I placed 3rd in the tournament and my thoughts are the deck is very consistent, the core cards stay the same every game and the rest depends on your local meta … but was fun to play.
Agreed - there’s a solid ~54 cards or so that are core to the deck. I think it can be tweaked more to combat popular lists and I think Rise of the Floodborn may give it more tools.
And now it's time to build a counter deck to this for everyone I'll be matching up against on pixelborn LOL. Nah for reals though, I absolutely love these videos, thank you for your clear thoughts and congrats on the growth of the channel!
I love this deck. It's so much fun. Lots of tricks up it's sleeve. I'm gonna add that Befuddle/Megara trick you mentioned to the list. I hold onto Meg if i don't need her for a turn 5 Rafiki buff. Feels amazing swinging into a 2 strength big butt character. I initially built Evasives when First Chapter dropped in August and was sad to see it get pushed out. I started looking into this color combo cause I wanted to do something with Kuzco and Dr. Facilier. Then these lists started popping up. The Amethyst pairing is so much better and gives the deck incredible amounts of versatility. I rarely lose to Ruby/Amethyst and usually out aggro or outdraw most of the other matchups. I feel like Amber/Steel is the only matchup this deck gets wrecked by. Which isn't bad just feels unwinnable without a really strong start against a fairly weak one on their end. That turn one Cpt. Hook always feels bad to see with this deck. It stalls our deck really well and I don't see how we win late game against a Whole New World. I'm considering dropping 2-3 cards from the deck for 2-3 one drop 2/2s to hedge against Hook but if the aggro strategy doesn't work I dunno what to do. Interested in key strategies against that matchup or do you just throw your hands up in frustration like I do? 😜
These videos are great... Very insightful and love trusting them out on pixelborn and getting to know these decks before getting them on the table... Once I get the cards for them that is 😂
Been on this deck for a long time and I actually think the bounce effects are the weakest part of the deck. Befuddle is great at 1-3 copies, but MKB often feels really clunky, especially when you typically want to be questing with jasper and cat. I’m completely off of Genie too - not a fan of drawing into a 6 drop uninkable in a deck that often sits at 5 for a few turns. What really turns me off to the bounce effects generally, tho, is how many powerful effects are tied to playing characters. You don’t want to bounce surfer stitch, hades, dragon maleficent, maleficent sorceress, big tink, rapunzel, etc. John Silver and Jasper are MVP.
Bouncing your own characters is actually huge. For instance, questing with Kuzco, playing Genie, then bouncing Kuzco to keep him protected while establishing an evasive threat feels very strong in a lot of matchups
I hear that, and in the game I mentioned how awkward it was to bounce Aladdin and Ursula. The same goes for Tink, Stitch, etc as you said, but almost always, resetting their “challenge timer” is the reason for the bounce and that’s worth their play ability happening again.
Hi, I was wondering why we don’t see the 6 drop Mother Gothel used in these decks? I would think that her ability to halt your opponent from questing would be useful. Is it because she’s too vulnerable having to be exerted to use this ability? Thanks!
You have to play her then wait a turn to stop them from questing. By comparison, John Silver comes down and blocks a quest the turn he's played (similar to Genie) - I like that more.
Loving these style videos and love how clear you are with thought process behind decks. What are your thoughts of 2 Mother Gothels instead of Silver since I don’t own 2 of him?
Befuddle has proven to only be a card that gets inked. If you use it to bounce an opposing character, you're still behind on board, just one turn later. It doesn't advance your board state.
If it means the difference between questing for +3 on the next turn it’s essentially pay 1 ink for +3 lore and also wasting your opponents ink for what they played.
Tempo and Midrange are pretty much opposites of the same coin, this would be more tempo because it wants and early board presence and controls the board with bounce more often in the late game. Midrange want's to control the board early game and play its big creatures late game. This deck has far more early game and tempo cards than what Midrange would want.
I could see that, but in most games you mull for 2-3 1-cost cards especially Pascal and go face for ~8 lore. Beyond that, the deck shares 80% of its DNA with aggro.
How are you guys liking the video guides? Enough info/content before the gameplay? Too much? Let me know your thoughts!
I like the deck tech with games style a lot.
I think it is a great level of detail! I love how you explain why cards are used and what else you could add.

Would a Mother Gothel make sense here?
Great video. Clean style and awesome commentary. Would love to see more strong decks that are lesser known facing off/winning against meta decks.

Deck is a tempo deck. I used a similar list to win locals last week.
Probably my favorite deck rn
Big fan of tempo, coming from a Magic background, probably gonna give this a shot myself.

Thanks haha 😂
Another great breakdown! This deck doesn't cost a million either, definatly gonna try it out.
Yeah that’s a huge bonus!
I think the intros and descriptions are perfect, would like more gameplay personally but some may like the shorter videos.
Thanks for the feedback!
@@ssteadfast thanks for the content
I’m light 1 Kuzco and 1 genie but think I’m going to try and load a couple more bigger cards on the backend. Maybe 2x Ursula or even 2x mother gothel

your frustration with hook is justified, you can kinda play around it with befuddle but either way its a pain to see turns 1-3

Yes! Thanks for watching :)
Been seeing this deck a lot of ladder. I might have to give this one a try. Thanks for sharing your insight and the video.
It’s a fun one!
Would love to see your take on upgrades from set 2!
Mims, Merlins, Bounce, & Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!
I’ve been running this deck myself for a little while now and it’s felt pretty good. Emerald anything is really fun though in my opinion 😂
Yeah I love Emerald :D
Any thoughts on how to make this list more favourable in the Amber Steel matchup?
I think Ursala and green Mickey are good additions to this deck
Maybe, but the deck already has so many incredible 3-ink cost characters, and I’d almost always play a second Genie or John Silver on 7 over Ursula.

Hey bro :) awesome work. Where is this "online" game Version? ^^
Pixelborn :)
Loving these style videos and love how clear you are with thought process behind decks. What are your thoughts of 2 Mother Gothels instead of Silver since I don’t own 2 of him?
I've played with and optimised this deck a lot, I'd say Mother Gothel is strictly worse but a perfectly fine substitute.
@@AlphosNZ yeah the “when played” trigger is always so good, but maybe I can pull one or two of John when the reprint comes out
She’s a good choice until you find John Silver!

Thanks for beating me the other night 😂 It was at least close I think!
Oh nice hahah GG
Wish the videos were longer!
Need more gameplay in the videos! Great content so far otherwise
Thanks! I’ll try to include more!
Against Amber/Steel!@@ssteadfast
This is pretty much the literal definiton of midrange...

Been seeing this deck at my LGS and on pixel. It honestly feels more like an aggressive tempo deck than an aggro deck.
Uhh aggro is short for aggressive and bouncing is usually considered tempo 😅
@@BlekPowers yeah exactly lol
