Tim, I've got a No. 4 Sub-soiler I pull with a WD45, pretty healthy machine too. When you're in dirt that really needs ripped, it's a low gear affair! I have seen manuals for the multi-shank tools but never seen one in person. Anyway, great video.

We've got 2 single shanks. I think I could talk my dad into selling one. Off the top if my head I can't remember where you live though if it would be worth it to come pick it up. Hi Tim we ran a straight 190 on a one shank subsoiler on 10 acres this fall we try to do itevery fall weather permitting but this year it pulled the hardest stopping the 190 if you werent careful we ran it clear in and every 40 inches also ran one on my D17 too was a lot of fun but took better part of two days to finish and i put a full tank of gas threw D17 missed you this fall watched your Gleaner run beans would like to see Frankie on a chisel l will be wachin!!!!
Ahh Franky.... that's actually a sore subject right now. I found out that peak antifreeze is no good. Mixed 50/50 and it froze in the block and cracked it 😔. I thought I might have messed something up when I tested the atifreeze and it was only good to 25° but my friend Ted said he did the save thing with peak brand.... it's junk. I definitely lard a hard lesson to test your new antifreeze. But don't worry. I've got a block hunted down. Who have it running next stunner. Maybe over the winter here if the Buda projects go as planned. I have the 45d block back in a week or so. And waiting for the head on dad d19 D. Should have that within a week or so too. I Eben managed to find new main and rod bearings!!! It sure is fun time Pulling that subsoiler lol I don't ever get to work the old 190 and it was nice to get it out to stretch its legs like that lol. It sounds like your old 17 was thirsty that day lol. Imagine feeding a gas 190 for a couple days of that 😆

Yep tires are filled with windshield washer fluid. We got away from sodium chloride years ago. I think this was the 1st tractor we had swapped the fluid in. Thankyou for that shit. The same goes from my farm to yours my friend.
We still got the job done I don't think any less than 16 in deep that should be OK. I just wanted to get the 190 out working. If I had alot of ground to cover I would have used a bigger tractor.

That's when you go half the depth and the go full depth on a second pass. I worked putting in field tile. When the ground was hard or frozen, it would take two passes.
That was an option 😆 I had the cooling system apart on this tractor over the summer I flushed everything and got the radiator cleaned as it was running a little warm at times. I really wanted to work it and make sure the problems was solved. I'm happy to report the Guage never left the green. Next time I'll put it on a bigger tractor, but it was a good time running the 190 for a change. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thank you, sir!!! I will look into this if they are xt series 3 rear parts they are worth having. in the earlier 190s, the rear end all the internals were smaller and to weak for anything over 100hp.
I really thought it would be fine even in the hard ground 😆 once I got it shined up, I cloud go 2nd high out on the field. But this hard spots were something else all together.
Seems like that subsoiler needs another 25-30 horse to pull it effectively in those conditions. Every time the front end bounces it’s unloading the the drive tires. And that 190 needs some suitcase weight and probably wheel weights. I’ve always thought that the 190’s and most of Allis tractors from the 190 and down were to lightweight for the power that they were rated for, in actual weight and and drive train. We’ve owned a couple Allis’s. I’m a firm believer in having more tractor than needed so to not abuse the tractors drivetrain. I’m also a former heavy equipment field mechanic so that helps drives my way of thinking. That way if something breaks it’s the implement and not the tractor.
I've got a 7060 with a 301 that's set at 135 at the pump. Was just toying with the thing. But it blew a hydraulic line. Over the summer I got the radiator cleaned on the 190 and never got a chance to work it and make sure that was the overhearing problem. I'm happy to report that it was 😆. And as far as the rear end and tranny goes, I have a good 200 rear end to put on it. So really I don't care about the rear end on this one lol, and we all know the old 301 is up for the task 😆. As far as my tractors that I work everyday for hard tillage, I overpower everything, just look at the 7045 with the 9 shank chissle 😆, but I couldn't agree with ya more on that point. All that being said though, it was fun working the old beast like that lol
@@TimothyFluegel your 7060 has a 301? I did a inframe on a 7060 20 years ago and it had a 426. I wasn’t sure if what you said was a typo, or wether it had been switched. I like that subsoiler of yours, until your video I had never seen one like it. Nor did I know allis ever made one. One day I’m going to have to either build myself one or find a good used one that’s not pulled apart. In north east oklahoma where I live we have several different types of soil. But down in the creek bottoms in some places here it’s dark gumbo heavy soils that runs pretty deep. It’ll get compacted similar to what you were ripping. I would chisel it 14” inches deep trying to shatter the pan and it was equally hard going. I personally believe all farm ground around here needs to be ripped at least once every 3-4 years for the maximum potential to be seen.
Once I got this one shined up 2nd low was just fine. Especially in the field where it wasn't packed from years of heavy equipment. Lol. And if your like most red guys I know, I'll bet that 806 is cranking around 130hp or so? 😆 I know them things will pull the house down with a little pump work. I've got my eye out for a gauge wheel setup for this one. That would make it pretty nice.
That's what i thought but this year end had a broken cable on it, I've got a 200 raar end that's going on this tractor hopefully this summer sometime or next winter. And it won't see any more lift arm work. Between now and then.

I plow every spring actually. Mainly to plow down the cover crop, but it keeps the soil loose so row cultivating does a better job, among other benefits of plowing. The waterway there is usually so at I can't get through it and this spring was no exception. I figured I better get it ripped while it was dry.
Yes it would. But I'd just go put it on a bigger tractor at that point 😆. This was alot fun working the ol 190 though for the smash amount I had to do.
The shanks are dull and worn, if you had new sharp shanks on it would cut 10x better, we have a 11 shank 3 meter subsoiler we run on a 8320r Deere on710 duals and if the points are worn it pulls twice as hard as new points easily
This one hasn't seen the dirt in 20 plus years on top of it lol, once it shined up it pulled pretty easily really lol. I sound have had 150hp on it or so but it was fun working the old 190 for a change.

Take & unbolt & remove 1 of the 3 before yer clutch is toast. Just making this short video put lots of wear on the clutch! Man, yer burning it up, you don't even realize it.
🤦♂️ some people and their ideas, what do you know about the hand clutches in the Allis? Cause the foot clutch was not slipping, and the high low is a wet clutch you can use and abuse them 20x more than a dry clutch. The old ih torque converters are a joke comparatively speaking. Now that being said. The high side of this clutch has a broken plate in it or 2 and it isn't right, I have one I completely rebuild sitting on the shelf just waiting for me to find the gumption to put it in. Idk this was such a what are you talking about comment, you mean I'm using the tractor to pull stuff like it was meant to do noooo way, and things that are meant to wear down are wearing down while I use it.....I never would have realized that your right.
If you can't tell you are burning up the clutch there isn't anything more I can say. If you can't tell from trying to make it work & not realizing you are wreaking a fine piece of equipment, again I have nothing. You're the person that is too blind to see. @@TimothyFluegel

Ruining a good piece of equipment 😆 🤣 😂, for 100 bucks a 12 pack and about 5 hours it could have a brand new clutch in it lol we've got 30 tractors around here and alot of them ive been working my whole life. This 190 was bought new by my grandfather with a 5 16s pliw and has got over 10000 hours on it. This particular clutch and flywheel was used I to 160hp in the Allis. And still didn't burn up faster than any other brands of the Era, if you knew anything about the 190s you'd know that the rear end is the weak point, if I was going to do anything it wound have left the pinion laying in the rear end case. And at that point I've got a 200 rear end that has different mesh in tranny and bigger pinion bull gears shaft ect ect, and that would take me and my buddy a couple days to swap. Everyone had their opinions, but that don't make then facts. I've been running and working on these tractors my whole life. And the clutches are by far the least of the worries hear 😆 but I'm just an orange blooded allis guy/mechanic that has more knowledge on them than 80 percent of the people alive today.... what wound I know🤷

Pulled a three shank subsoiler with gauge wheels 16 inches deep with 806 diesel wide front central Wisconsin soil 3 low all-day long

A 9 shank chisel. I believe it's a Glencoe but im not positive on that.
Put the 7045 on the ripper and put the 190 on the chisel. Just don't try the chisel too deep at first.

The shanks are dull and worn, if you had new sharp shanks on it would cut 10x better, we have a 11 shank 3 meter subsoiler we run on a 8320r Deere on710 duals and if the points are worn it pulls twice as hard as new points easily
This one hasn't seen the dirt in 20 plus years on top of it lol, once it shined up it pulled pretty easily really lol. I sound have had 150hp on it or so but it was fun working the old 190 for a change.

🤦♂️ some people and their ideas, what do you know about the hand clutches in the Allis? Cause the foot clutch was not slipping, and the high low is a wet clutch you can use and abuse them 20x more than a dry clutch. The old ih torque converters are a joke comparatively speaking. Now that being said. The high side of this clutch has a broken plate in it or 2 and it isn't right, I have one I completely rebuild sitting on the shelf just waiting for me to find the gumption to put it in. Idk this was such a what are you talking about comment, you mean I'm using the tractor to pull stuff like it was meant to do noooo way, and things that are meant to wear down are wearing down while I use it.....I never would have realized that your right.
If you can't tell you are burning up the clutch there isn't anything more I can say. If you can't tell from trying to make it work & not realizing you are wreaking a fine piece of equipment, again I have nothing. You're the person that is too blind to see. @@TimothyFluegel
@armedfarm3429 like I said I'm wearing the wear points 😆 I cloud never imagine that happens. Ruining a good piece of equipment 😆 🤣 😂, for 100 bucks a 12 pack and about 5 hours it could have a brand new clutch in it lol we've got 30 tractors around here and alot of them ive been working my whole life. This 190 was bought new by my grandfather with a 5 16s pliw and has got over 10000 hours on it. This particular clutch and flywheel was used I to 160hp in the Allis. And still didn't burn up faster than any other brands of the Era, if you knew anything about the 190s you'd know that the rear end is the weak point, if I was going to do anything it wound have left the pinion laying in the rear end case. And at that point I've got a 200 rear end that has different mesh in tranny and bigger pinion bull gears shaft ect ect, and that would take me and my buddy a couple days to swap. Everyone had their opinions, but that don't make then facts. I've been running and working on these tractors my whole life. And the clutches are by far the least of the worries hear 😆 but I'm just an orange blooded allis guy/mechanic that has more knowledge on them than 80 percent of the people alive today.... what wound I know🤷
