Tzimisce, Tremere, Lasombra, Anything that has natural Blood Magic, True Brujah, I mean... Those are actually OP and you don't even need to think too much to be powerful, but if you do... Games become one sided quite early. And if you don't find a way to break Animalism, then you are not thinking at all. Pretty much all disciplines can be incredibly useful and powerful given the right conditions and a good player makes sure those conditions meet.
Yeah, I don’t disagree with you, however, the professor mumbled the following while eating chicken nuggets: “OP? Animalism is great and I can prove it. Congratulations, you just got yourself your own UAV capable of dropping molotovs and hand grenades on your enemies, your only next step is to strap a camera to the bird to make funny clips later.

False. Nosferatu stink. Also, Animalism is a shit-tier discipline. Potence and Obfuscate let you hit hard, but it doesn’t put you in the top five. Stick to sewers and skulking.

I feel like the ‘power gamer characters’ are all so unbalanced they effectively have kick me written on their backs. There’s so many ways for a ST to punish them that don’t involve fighting. The main health bar in vampire is you humanity and today’s claws n fortitude badass gangrel is tomorrow’s friendless wight getting bloodhunted by the Prince. Or put down by the SI. The Brujah weakness to frenzy is just an invitation to storytellers to put them in situations where that’s going to get punished especially if the character is obnoxious. And once that character is frenzied it’s not the player’s character anymore, it’s the ST’s!
This. There's power gaming and meta gaming. Got a squad of power gamers where I just say invisible as a follower of set acting like Undertaker "accept the lord of darkness as your savior, allow the purity of evil to guide you" cause fuckem I wanted too play Beast the primordial lol
I made power characters and I wanted that kick me on my back. It's called an open challenge. Lolol a couple years of 60 person LARPs with that character with nearly everyone trying to kill me. None of them could do it for 2 years. It took the ST to straight out say my character is dead with no tests, nothing, just straight up deus ex machina. That was the only way they could get me. I treasure that kick me sign.
Caitiff with PCF is nice, but - and this only works in MET - what about a Caitiff with Auspex, Obfuscate, and Dominate in-clan (that's right, it's the KotM loadout) with Inceptor for Lure of Flames? Mental Focus is Wits, Auspex goes to 5, the three other Disciplines go to 2, and then you just max all Atts and relevant skills. You're a flying, invisible, noclipping ghost-bastard with an infinite-ammo flamethrower (Lure of Flames 2 uses Wits focus) that is immune to all physical attacks. You can have a Brujah/Gangrel/Banu/Lasombra pack that's all sharing their Disciplines and have all the dice in the world stacked. I'll just keep burning them to death over time, and they won't be able to stop me unless they can find my body. Also, praise and adoration for Professor Powergamer!
That's just your regular malkavian IF they get down to business instead of bothering some cappadocians to call upon Socrates' soul to ask him if he actually said that quote someone used on the internet to describe their "talking" pet iguana
Brujah? Really? Any clan with Presence can do as well or better. Since any kindred can learn the 3 physical disciplines just by spending points, the only advantage Brujah have is that they buy them cheaper. Conversely, Brujah have to take a blood bond or diablerize another kindred, which seriously depends on the Game Master, to access another discipline. I would take any other clan over Brujah, simply because my design philosophy is to ignore clans with physical disciplines unless they have some other extremely hard to acquire discipline like Obtenebration or Protean. Brujah only shine in a one shot.
Where are you getting that any kindred can buy physical disciplines without a teacher? Maybe in your home game or your LARP, but everyone knows LARP is for people who can’t hack it at a table. Also, the professor doesn’t care what your design philosophy is.
