I think you missed something in the line : " I'm up in a balcony in France I look around, I see the fans" There's a royal tradition of the balcony appearance in European royal families. Like the British Royal family who gathers on Buckingham palace balcony for the Queen's birthday each year. By saying that he is in a balcony in France Eminems means that he's like a king to his fans. But why in France ? Is it just to rhyme with "fans" ? I think not . I think it's weither because he knows that the French have beheaded their last king which should be understood as metaphor for how there can be ups and downs in an artistic carreer. Weither he refers to the French balcony which is a very small balcony with no place for furnitures or to stand in it, it's only for the ventilation. Which means that fans see him as a king but he's not as he can not really gather on the (French) balcony like a king would do on a real large balcony.

There's a royal tradition of the balcony appearance in European royal families. Like the British Royal family who gathers on Buckingham palace balcony for the Queen's birthday each year.
By saying that he is in a balcony in France Eminems means that he's like a king to his fans.
But why in France ? Is it just to rhyme with "fans" ? I think not . I think it's weither because he knows that the French have beheaded their last king which should be understood as metaphor for how there can be ups and downs in an artistic carreer. Weither he refers to the French balcony which is a very small balcony with no place for furnitures or to stand in it, it's only for the ventilation. Which means that fans see him as a king but he's not as he can not really gather on the (French) balcony like a king would do on a real large balcony.
