Damn Dan, that was interesting to see... it's sparks my nostalgia. I first moved to San Diego in 1995 and I would ride my bike from the top of double Peak. I still do on occasion the ride what I called Tower to Tower when I ride from Franks Peak all the way to the West tower to loop back thru Elfin Forest. There used to be an old abandoned adobe or stone kind of house on the top. That got bulldozed many years ago. I used to ride up from via Veracruz before there were any houses on the middle and upper slopes when heading North. I was totally pissed off and discouraged when they butchered out ALL of the cool Trails I used to ride that were very challenging. A lot changed once they put in the houses. I despise the pea gravel Trails and cutesy fence rails they put in that cover the old natural Trail beds. The Housing Development approach made it suitable for people to walk their dogs to take a shit, but they ruined all the trails that were there in the process. Then they chopped off some of the trails along the Ridgeline. I was so discouraged by all that, so I've not gone back to explore the upper parts of the mountain above the pea gravel circumnavigating Trail. After watching your video it certainly compels me to go back and see what's up there. One of the trails that came off the summit heading east was super chunky Rocky and Technical. I used to ride it on a hardtail. In recent years I just ride along the north and western portion of the ridge on some of the cool Trails over there. I definitely need to go back and see what's changed... maybe its not so bad? Some of the trails off the top are extremely wide compared to what they used to be, but with all that hiker traffic and growth that's the norm. Thanks for sharing.
@@Bicycle_Dan I have such a big bucket list that I hope I remember to go back to double Peak again. I've been suffering with lots of rain and snow at Mount Rainier in Washington State I'm coming back soon.
