Do you have a write up somewhere on the refilling of the transmission oil, pumping it back in. Many videos out there but they are very DIY and not very formidable. Thanks
Great video. I was expecting the cover screws to be tighter than 15 nm. Also I have a question regarding the pattern to tight these? Star pattern similar to the valve cover?
So my 2002 audi a4 1.8 turbo has a failure with driving after a stop not long ago today 07/04/2019 the transmission gave out and stopped driving nearly got me killed it jumps from stops atleast 2 times in a row and scares my passangers. Can you help?
Yes. The engine is supported from above with a frame across the top. The transmission is still bolted to the engine at this point. The mount is then loosened. The transmission is then supported underneath it with the trans jack. The transmission is then loosened and allowed to rest on the jack.
Transfer fluid? If you mean transmission fluid, then yes it would be advised to drain it as you'll lose fluid when you remove the rear cover from the gearbox. Plus it's a good time to change the oil anyway, as these transmissions have problems when it's not maintained every 60,000km/40,000miles.
i have audi a4 b6 2003 1.9tdi and it has a prob with shifting into 1 gear when i m driving and need 2 do a ful stop then it jumps a litle and most recently when this jump apers it goes into neutral. then i must change to S or N then back in D to start driving again. but it only does that it D when i m in +/-(shifting on my on) thers no problems. chould this be that tcm is in problems? sory for my english :)
You need to get the fault codes for the tcm read. It could be the tcm at fault, but it could also be something else. If you get me a fault code then I will tell you my opinion.
The codes are really important for diagnostics on these vehicles and especially the transmission. They help us work out a path of diagnosis, but don't tell you the part to replace though so just remember that.
@@FourRingsAuto do I need to replace the gasket around the tcm part that the plug connects to. I just installed a rebuild tcm with new cover bolts and gasket and only realized I might have forgotten to put a new round rubber gasket around the tcm plug area
I just did mine and have the same problem you had. (When shifted to reverse instrument cluster shows as it engaged in N and the shift does not hold at S. What did you do to fix the problem?
Yes. This is the transmission range sensor built into the trans ecu. The ecu can be repaired. Sometimes it's successful, other times not. But generally down to the quality of tue repairer. This one was being replaced instead as it was a cheap chinese clone from ebay that someone had installed, which failed again.
hello is this need to coding after remplacement by used gearbox ?

I wish i could. I'm in Australia
@@FourRingsAuto i knoe but why does it jerk from a stop theres a small 2-3 second delay then it jerks into first
Great Video !! Any idea what the ECU Parts Number is for an 2006 Audi A4?
No need to support transmission when mount comes loose?

Four Rings Auto thanks! Confused as i didnt find it in the video
Could you tell me where can i buy this ecu please?
Did you drain transfer fluid out

@@FourRingsAuto ok tywm for info :) will try 2 remeber that :D
whats worst think that i can espect from multitronic and is he really problematic gearbox
Do you new bolts for the TCU to the mechatronics? What about the cover, do you need new bolts as well or can I re-use the original ones?? Thanks
Cover 100% should have new bolts. It says in the video they are stretch bolts (a degree after the Nm torque value).
@@FourRingsAuto so for the cover its 15 Nm plus 1 degree??

how important is it to tighten the screws on the ecu itself?
Important. You will have issues if you don't tighten the bolts...
