Let's see there's also Rap artists like Public Enemy, Eric B and Rakim, Grand Master Flash and the furious 5, 8th wonder, I liked Pop bands from my era like Michael Jackson and B-52'S which started out more punk classic rock like Kiss,AC/DC,Boston,April Wine, Nazareth, Thin Lizzy and Queen Heavy Metal like Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, Van Halen with David Lee Roth and Van Halen with Sammy Hagar, Ratt, and Iron maiden. What I'm getting at is yes I love all genre's of music even classical and some country. I have an 11 year old daughter and she knows my love of music and I try to share with her what I like and she shares with me what she likes. And I though Black Pink sounded really awesome with the Deep bass drops and accompanied with their lyrics. I thought my daughter would love this group.
I guess what to me is bad is just gets that have really no creativity like the rap today it all sounds the same to me with all the repetative stuttering that is the new norm for rapper's it's just really not that great sounding. Like at times Nikki Minaj raps with that monotone stuttering. I mean come on be better than that! I even saw an interview where even Snoop Dogg said he wouldn't be caught dead rapping be like that. So to answer your question that is what I think is bad is not being creative.

I come from a metal background as well. Back in HS all I ever listened to were Thrash, Death Metal, and Grindcore. Then I dated a kpop fangirl and was forced to listen to kpop, naturally coming from the more extreme side of music, I did a lot of resisting, but eventually i found groups that I could actually vibe with. Big Bang & 2NE1 were the two that won me over. Fast forward 6 years and now im Blackpink trash lmao. This girl group reminds me of Big Bang's charisma and 2NE1's confidence more than any of their peers in the current generation... I took a liking to them right from even before their debut. Hahaha As eclectic as I am, I've been listening to metal music since grade school, from Black Sabbath and Slayer to CoB and cradle of filth but I have to admit I do listen to kpop when I am in the mood for some lighter music. Dream Catcher is musically closer to rock music than most kpop girl groups btw
Teddy Park is the exclusive producer/song writer for Blackpink. He was also the producer for almost everything 2NE1 did (another girl group under the same company, YG), which is why the two groups sound basically identical.
I don't think theres any ghost writers (not a lot of k pop artists do). As for green screens in kpop, its rare, korean companies like to flex... lol. Also k pop idols practically slave their life away and they have to pay back just about every penny, from housing, training to videos to food. as for other k pop, the only other k pop group i like atm is bts, id recommend fire, baepsae dance practice (for some god fun). Also im a metal head that just so happens to listen to k pop lol.

Yeah i don't know why kpop fans especially BTS fans think Kpop idols having to owe back advance cheques through labour is a bad or rare thing? It happens in all industries lol (they're a little bit ignorant. ) Kpop fans also like to believe their idols were on the verge of poverty before being stars. They also use the word "slave " a lot and act as if only Korean artists are hard workers.... Wrong. The talent in the west is far more hard working thats why they're globally famous and they're playing on a whole other field. Whereas korea is a small country and music industry
I don't think hardworking-ness is a major factor in why Western music is more prominent. South Korea is a relatively young market when compared to the USA and only have made serious focus and progress in the entertainment front in the past decade or so. Also, most of the world speaks English so the language barrier is easier to get over compared to Korean. In terms of why Kpop fans saying that Kpop stars tend to be a slave to their companies, it's due to very strict contracts that ban the stars from dating, alcohol, can't visit their families over the holidays to tight controls over appearances (restricting food and water, forced to undergo plastic surgery) among many others. Also when paying back to the companies for what is owed, some companies actually take the full payment until all debt has been paid back. If the group doesn't do well, it can be years until the stars even see a penny in their bank accounts. I don't think these are circumstances Western stars endure, perhaps not to this extent.

I think the reason why YG is investing so much money in BlackPink (other than the fact they kick ass) is because Big Bang is waiting for 4 of it’s members to finish mandatory military service... can’t wait for Big Bang’s comeback! Until then you should totally check out their stuff (Bang Bang Bang is crazy good). From the SM family there is a group named EXO, their mv for Monster is sick!

I listen to metal. I love metal. I started listening to kpop so i could work on my vocabulary and pronunciation for Korean language. You can't really hear the words in metal so i went to the pop world. I think the music is quite fun and i have found a few songs that i have put on my playlist, mostly Dreamcatcher, but I have a few from some other artists. Anyway, the talent in Korea cannot be denied. and the investment, cannot be denied... I think i have loved metal because they express all the anger and disillusionment of society without me having to do anything to anyone.. I know that is why i loved Battery by Metalica. Yeah i don't know why kpop fans especially BTS fans think Kpop idols having to owe back advance cheques through labour is a bad or rare thing? It happens in all industries lol (they're a little bit ignorant. ) Kpop fans also like to believe their idols were on the verge of poverty before being stars. They also use the word "slave " a lot and act as if only Korean artists are hard workers.... Wrong. The talent in the west is far more hard working thats why they're globally famous and they're playing on a whole other field. Whereas korea is a small country and music industry
I don't think hardworking-ness is a major factor in why Western music is more prominent. South Korea is a relatively young market when compared to the USA and only have made serious focus and progress in the entertainment front in the past decade or so. Also, most of the world speaks English so the language barrier is easier to get over compared to Korean.
In terms of why Kpop fans saying that Kpop stars tend to be a slave to their companies, it's due to very strict contracts that ban the stars from dating, alcohol, can't visit their families over the holidays to tight controls over appearances (restricting food and water, forced to undergo plastic surgery) among many others. Also when paying back to the companies for what is owed, some companies actually take the full payment until all debt has been paid back. If the group doesn't do well, it can be years until the stars even see a penny in their bank accounts.
I don't think these are circumstances Western stars endure, perhaps not to this extent.

noone is ghostwriting this. Members of blackpink dont really claim to have writen it. Its pretty normal in South Korea for big teams to be behind those artists. Their job is to be an idol and offer as much as they can of their talent and improve. Whether thats dancing, acting, singing, producing

They are called blackpink, because it is supposed to reflect their natural beauty (pink) and their talent (black). They were trained for 4-6 years before they debuted. In the blackpink there are 4 members of Lisa (main dancer, lead rapper), Jennie (main rapper, lead vocal), Rose (main vocal, lead dancer) and Jisoo (lead vocal, visual).
Give some love to a smaller group that has a lot of hype! LOONA is a 12 member girlgroup that officially debuts in August. Each girl has a solo mv (unique style for each girl) with a sidetrack. There are 3 units with 2 albums each (one repackage). Currently, the group is on the last unit's album (repackage isn't out yet). If you like the style of BLACKPINK, I suggest any of the Odd Eye Circle songs or Choerry, JinSoul, Kim Lip, and Olivia Hye's solos.

A few other groups you could check out are Stray Kids, GOT7, BTS (such as The Untold Truth, GO GO- Halloween dance practice version- and Spring Day *TUT and Spring Day are on the softer/sadder side, though*) and NCT (there are 3 subcategories; U, 127, and DREAM. Just saying, so you don't get confused 😊). I would say more *cough many more cough* groups, but I don't want to overwhelm you guys!

Not much into K-Pop music. Just 2 days ago listened to this very song. I actually like these girls. Especially LaLisa. She's actually from Thailand. I'm not into Asian girls either maybe because I was born in the Philippines and am half American. I do however love and am obsessed with a J-Pop/Metal band called BABYMETAL. I listen to metal. I love metal. I started listening to kpop so i could work on my vocabulary and pronunciation for Korean language. You can't really hear the words in metal so i went to the pop world. I think the music is quite fun and i have found a few songs that i have put on my playlist, mostly Dreamcatcher, but I have a few from some other artists. Anyway, the talent in Korea cannot be denied. and the investment, cannot be denied... I think i have loved metal because they express all the anger and disillusionment of society without me having to do anything to anyone.. I know that is why i loved Battery by Metalica.
