What’s the difference between this Solo version and the Solo Training Mode? The Deluxe Set states there are two Solo Modes (Snowdon and Botdell variants). Is that correct or am I misunderstanding? Also, I don’t understand the Solo Training Mode, since the rule book explains setup only but doesn’t explain gameplay. Will someone clarify this for me please?
This solo mode (Botdell) comes with quite a sophisticated rules set that is trying to mimic the decisions of an actual player. The training mode is basically a beat-your-own-score kind of experience and is quite simple, there is really not a lot to explain as it's basically only you playing.
Thanks, Tom. I played the original game and couldn't really remember the "drop" but now it makes sense. Also noticed that the cards are available on the Geek (and I believe I can order them). Thanks again!
20:25 yes, definitely use that die for Arkham and Eldritch Horror! LOL - 5 sixes in a row!
This is insane. As soon as I transfer it to Eldritch or Arkham Horror, I expect to see my logo more often :-D
@@realjplay Oh, yes ... 100% that is what will happen.
@@joelcole161 We need to call in the die whisperer!
I just picked the Master Set. Your playthrough is very helpful to get me acquainted with game play. Thanks
Thank you for your comment! Are you planning to play it solo?
jPlay I will play solo most of the time but may get my family interested (🤞).
Why the rush to turn the iron into the steel? Waiting until you can do it 2 or three times, or after having some rubble seems much more efficient.
That's what I thought later too but I felt I had to do it to get "The Shunter" asap ;-)
I am interested in Alubari, which is a descendant of Snowdonia, I have heard. I am curious to see how the 2 games compare.
Thanks, Stasia! I am sonewhat aware of Alubari but let’s see if I can get a copy :)

@@realjplay ahh thank you. I thought I was still playing against the Bot on the Training Mode. That makes so much more sense now thank you so much!
Great - cool, we could sort this one out! :)
Super!!
Thanks, Ricky! :)
Good play through. By the way Half Way station gives you 7 points if the surveyoy finishes on that station. It is a printing error.

Really? I have been playing this as the 1 score for a long time now!!! Lol.
So I am officially a learning channel now?! :-D
Nice play through. I instantly fell in love with this game and so has my wife (who creams me every time we play). Can’t wait for Part 2.
Thanks, David! We recently introduced our son to Snowdonia and he annihilated us :-D Part 2 should be up tonight!
