I nominate Erwan for DOT secretary and FEATR as the new tourism department. You're doing more work than the current officials in showcasing our country and culture with zero confidential funds in place. Bravo!
Wrong... Erwan don't deserve to be part of politics where everyone is being criticized whatever color you represent, whichever side you choose to be in.
@@HuwagSalangin chill dude. It is a satire. He is doing a great job promoting our culture better than the people in position, that are paid for by our taxes, to do so.
It's so impressive to see how FEATR keeps improving their channel to showcase not only amazing delicacies in the Philippines but to capture the sceneries, let the locals talk about their stories, cultures and traditions for Filipinos to get inspired and be more curious about our own nation as well other than foreigners.
I am so glad that this type of melancholic voice over is still present in Featr’s content. Loved it back in the Overnight Series and love it still to this day. Great job, Featr team!
A masterpiece. I've been to guimaras multiple time already but it seems there's a lot i haven't explored after seeing this video. Thank you for featuring the lives of the locals. It made me appreciate how hard working they are and we need to support more of their products. Keep it up. More videos likes this please. Thank you!
6:45 I absolutely love the fact that the sails are accurate. Real paraw-style indigenous crab-claw sails with accurate rigging. They may not be preserved in modern motorized boats, but they can live on in these models.
Can i just say ,that this deserve so much praise. Yung tipong 8minutes video pero ang galing at ang daming learning. It captures the heart of locals din sa guimaras. I love guimaras
nice BGM, nice voice over... excellent scenery.. i never thought we dont have content like this.. hope you cover all our heritage, specially history, food and culture and i hope reach all of our indigenous people here in Philippines.. i love this kind of content..
Dont get me wrong, I appreciate that you features places/islands here in our homeland..but one can not do justice of how truly beautiful our homeland is, and the people living in it together with their way of living, IN JUST A COUPLE OF MINUTES. I want a longer video of this 😂 ...eh kasi nakakabitin 😂😂
Not to be a downer, but I despise the "myths" of Princess HALFOFPLACENAME who fell in love with OTHERHALFOFPLACENAMEHERE. And they died and the place they were buried became known as HALFOFPLACENAME + OTHERHALFOFPLACENAMEHERE. It's one of the most common fake "myths" in the Philippines explaining a certain place-name. It's damaging, because it obscures a place's TRUE history. Which in most cases might not be that interesting, but in others are actually far more interesting than some over-used story of folk etymology. Guimaras is the Hispanicized spelling of Himara-os (alternate rendering: Himal-os, Himal-us, Himud-os, etc.), which means to struggle for a living. To survive basically day-by-day. cf. Tagalog "Nakara-os"/"Nakada-os", root word "da-os" ("to finish", "to get through"). THAT to me is a more interesting fact than some fake random princess and a recycled tragedy.
I am soon retiring in guimaras and it is my dream to contribute one or another by way of maybe marketing their harvest or just helping in children's education. Thank u Erwan and team for showing the life there.
Thank you, FEATR, for making me appreciate my own country more than ever thanks to your videos and documentaries beautifully highlighting the place, the culture, the food, the people, and their stories ❤
I was drawn to listening to your soothing narration. A short clip and a peep into their lives but fascinating and I am grateful to have known what you've shared about them.
Thank you Erwan for this series I have been looking forward to visit Guimaras I had read about the beauty of this land hopefully I’ll have the chance to visit this beautiful place many thanks your avid follower from Northern California. Stay safe and cool.🙏♥️🙏
Forgive me for being an addict. I cannot get over it. In fact I love getting high on this ... Watching every episode of FEATR, I mean. Maraming salamat, ERWAN, and all the wonderful people behind every episode of FEATR. Every video is so entertaining and educational, pretty much like an instructional media. Looking forward to your next episodes. Lo❤️e you FEATR!
Damn. The sea really makes one pensive. You should've gone to the side of the island that faces Siete Pecados (between Iloilo, currents to Negros), another myth of crossing seas, following your will. Pwede ring mag free diving sa Nueva Valencia.
As a local Guimarasnon, I do appreciate you featuring our province. I love FEATR Chanel but in my opinion, you have done injustice to the whole province of Guimaras.
Not really, no. The old names of places are preserved in Spanish records (and it still annoys me how so few local government units even read these records). Guimaras, even in the 1800s, was still called by its native pre-colonial (non-Hispanized name): "Himalos" or "Himalus", which obviously has nothing to do with Guimarães OR with an imaginary Princess Guima.
@@tadrod2323 Again no. Guimarás is the Spanish rendition of the native names, "Himara-os"/"Himad-os"/"Himud-os"/"Himalos". Guimarães' resemblance to the name is coincidental. They are not even pronounced similarly. Guimarães is pronounced "Gee-ma-ra-esh". Its alternate spellings include Guimaráes, Guimaràes, Guimarâes, Guimarais, or Guimarãis, but never "Guimarás". Moreover, other than the brief 60-year Iberian Union from 1580 to 1640 broken by the Portuguese Restoration War, Portugal and Spain were not exactly friends and there's absolutely no reason for the Spanish to name an island after the ancient capital of Portugal. _Enfrente de Iloylo esta una Isla de pocas leguas, llamada Himalos, o Guimaras, corrupto, que es de la administracion del convento de Ogtong. This type of storytelling is not my cup of tea. I prefer the old format. No tea, but I couldn't finish this video. Felt too close to poverty porn when it's from an outsiders perspective, you don't hear from the locals at all. The subjects are just that. Subjects.

How about sea weeds farm in Guimaras?

Fish, seafood products needed hardwork. Di po tamad mga manggagawa, napagkakaitan lang ng sapat na bayad kapalit ng produkto nila.
