Hi Lee. Thanks for your kind words. All trains are based on photos of real trains - but not always ER. Lengths have to be tweaked of course, but I try to make them look right.
Yes DCC, now that’s a whole different story. The class 22 are the only tin cans I would ever consider owning, such a interesting looking locomotive. Yes I’m a steam only LMS/LNWR modeller, but thank you for all the inspiration you deliver.
what a great collection. that's the thing with our hobby. our loco collections just keep growing. i wonder why. great insight to your collection. cheer's for now Tony
Thank you for sharing! Keep meaning to model B1 61313 which failed on a train to Newhaven, repaired at Redhill shed thence spent much time on the Redhill - Reading line until Canklow summoned its return!
Great story! I love the B1's but the old Bachmann model is showing its age now. Most have had chassis repairs to correct problems with the plastic wheel inserts. That said, if you can find old ones described as "poor runner", it usually mean the inserts need fixing and its a 20 minute job. Great way of getting cheap B1's to add to the fleet. One day, I'll bite the bullet and start replacing them with the new versions that are much better.
65 locomotives? I wish I could say that. (Starts rummaging through boxes that haven't been opened in years) Hmm, I don't have 65 but not far off. Sadly many are either old models with chunky wheels or way outside my layout area of interest. Time to turn a lot of old locos into a few nice new ones 😊 Great video showcasing all those locos. Cheers!
I have a 12’ x 16’ spare room and am in the process of adding an N Scale line with scarcely enough room for another. Hearing your report, I am pleased to hear of your accomplishments, but grumbling under my breath in jealousy and embarrassment! 😆 It’s all good fun. Cheers!
Lovely to see such a balanced loco stock collection. Do your locos all have fixed duties and how many spares are there for swapping out for servicing or repair in the event of a failure.? Would love to see a list of how you allocate a loco to a train or duty. For example an Express passenger would need a B1,V2 or B17. Thanks
Hi Jonathon. The locos will be put into "links" - I have 6 "A" class express trains and 7 engines so can rotate one out for servicing etc. Not all trains covered in this way. And I have far too many 2-6-2Ts, but I bought a pair of new V3's and can't find in my heart to sell the old ones!!! I will do a video on the trains to go alongside this one for information.
Hi Barry. Good to hear from you. I have a few ideas, but am only allowed on light duties at present so visits to the shed are restricted! Hopefully, I can catch up over the Xmas break.
Great to see the fleet. The layout is really looking good too and really coming along. I love the way you always run realistic trains. Great work. Lee

Ooh the LNWR with those lovely carriages! I confess to liking the 24's and 25's but all this modern stuff (66's etc) do nothing for me.

Thanks Tony - not sure I need any more, but I guess that never stopped anyone!!
The model train operation, even this spectacular example, is never complete. That’s half the fun.
Thank you for sharing!

Hi. I have been collecting for a few years and resist anything that doesn't fit the layout. That way, I have built up the fleet without "extras".
i've currently got 80 locomotives most of them are british steam engines in era 3 & 4 with a few diesels & 2 american locomotives

12 x 16 in N is 24 x 32 in OO - I should be jealous!!!!

When are the next Bite Size Bits coming Barry?
