I too have a coated havi and she too is wiggly as ducky. You are not rough at all. I can vouch that much pulling is needed to work through the coat . People who have never had to maintain long coat will never know what it is like! Thanks for teaching me a thing or two to implement in my daily brushing👍🏼
Oh my gosh. I am so sick of people nit picking people who are doing a great job taking care of dogs that have mats. I lost s groomer on here that I adored who had to demat a show dog . It took her almost 4 hours to finish the dog. She only did it because AKC needed that particular breed to be shown in full coat . The dog was loving on her the whole time she was not hurting it, but all the evil witches came out to destroy her career. It’s a shame. Why don’t y’all watch some other kind of videos. Because those of us with full coated dogs want to see these things to learn.. SMH.
And I would never ask a dog to endure 4 hours of dematting… if the owner maintains the coat properly, it should never get to that state… not AKC’s fault OR the groomer’s😉
Thank you! I have many combs from amazon, do you reallt see a difference with a chris comb? I have his slicker snd pin brush, and demat brush and face & feet comb. I just havent invested in the longer comb! One last question... i find a majorty of havanese owners keep their hair short due to maintenance. I plan to keep my havs full coat. They are 9 months old and wondering if i should trim their body with scissors, or just let it grow? I do sanity areas regularly.
ABSOLUTELY there is a difference in combs! (And other tools) The best, IMO, are CC and Greyhound. If you visit my website, www,highjumphavanese.net, you will see all the tools I suggest for grooming. Havanese in puppy cuts are, for sure, easier to maintain. But long coats are lovely. If your dog is showing, you CANNOT cut it AT ALL, except for trimming the feet and sanitary areas. If the dog is a pet, you can really do whatever you want, and shorten the hair or not, as you see fit!
I would love to have a Havanese! Are you a breeder, or do you KNOW of a breeder that I could contact? Thanks for any information! Ducky is a beautiful dog!

Beautiful dog, are you just using water or something else to nourish his coat?
CC Ice on Ice it isn’t really to nourish the coat, just to prevent breakage while you groom. The nourishment comes from the inside!
❤️❤️❤️🐾👍
Is that a water spray or a product?

What is the pad you are using under him as you groom him?
Just a memory foam bath mat.
What is the black spray bottle you are using?
