Zann Consortium is shockingly OP in Galactic Conquest-the Defiler Unit can corrupt planets, which allows you to A) see planetary garrisons without using Stealth Units, B) can let you slip past those planets by bribing them, C) can enable you to get better tech via the Black Market (which is different for both Rebel and Imperial Controlled planets), D) can get you hyperspace lanes not used normally, and E) is practically *impossible* to clear without either conquering said planet or either Leia or the Emperor to specifically clear that debuff…and while you’re waiting for the recharge, 3 more got corrupted. It’s apparently not unheard of, in 3-way GC multiplayer, for the Rebels and Imperials to work together to kill the Consortium player.
I used to go BANKRUPT clearing Corruption with palpatine in GC against normal AI. I can't imagine going up against a competent player using that nonsense. I did like that on single player, you got missions with your defilers to carry out Corruption
skirmish ground battles have approximately the same fun level as walking down the road in London. GC ground battles have the same fun level as not doing that.
