Its funny how 50 years old was seen as old then whilst watchinfg the episode but now it feels entirely normal and the entire case is above 50 now.

Even though it's played for laughs because the librarian was incredibly old, she was still an adult in an authority position who took advantage of a teenage Ross. They'd never be able to get away with that joke in a post Me Too era. Always Sunny had a similar plot with Dennis, where his friends try to convince him that he was taken advantage of by his own school librarian.
Is the “me too era” a bad thing then? For making it no longer acceptable for 50 year olds in positions of power to make out with 16 year olds…
It's one of those things from this show that did not age well at all. Which is what you should expect from a show this old.
The show is great no doubt, but it clearly did not age very well in certin parts.
He could have been 18 in high school. So still legal just weird.

Some old comedy series that still on streaming platform are labeled "product of it's time" and some sensitive jokes are edited out because apparently it's too "offensive"

In this episode there’s a very infamous botch by the writers when they had Rachel say «Ross we went out for 2 years and you never told me that you were in a I hate Rachel club».
There’s just one problem: Ross and Rachel (unfortunately) only went out for 1 year… I wonder if it’s an indirect way for the writers to admit that they screwed up by having Ross and Rachel break up so quickly even though David and Jen were amazing together…
