yeah! so generally i like to look for a moment just to take in what the scene feels like (what kind of textures are there?, what is my interpretation of the art?, what could the person who took this image/created this art have been feeling when they created it?). really, i just want to get a summary of the feeling of the art piece as a whole.
for example, let's say there is a piece of art with soft edges, dark/disturbing colors, and empty space. in this case, i would tend to use softer sounds/drums while maintaining a dark and disturbing melody, and i would maybe use 808s/bass sparingly to exemplify the space. i feel that making music like this isn't necessarily "helpful" in the sense that it works like a cheat code/gives you an advantage. really, it's just another way of doing it! there are still plenty of times where i make music directly from the soul and do not use art to channel my energy in any given direction. i would say it's good if you would like to switch things up to give yourself more avenues to go do creatively
I think I'd like it more without a clap but I can't be sure. Thanks for the video

can you explain how you get inspired from the images, what's the process like? do you think it helps you making the beat?
