It reminds me of how people will idolize killers believing that they would be the acception, the one the killer wouldn’t hurt because they accept them etc. Nope. At the end of the day that killer will prey on whoever they can get their hands on. Also love the wolf in sheep’s clothing theme!

Omg the creature version looked like a cannabis leaf which is the original meaning of the song, Mary as in marijuana, so to have it as a real question who turns into a weed monster is pretty genius ngl. Also for those who didn’t know that, yeah the song is about a weed addiction, some of the lyrics and the title of the song itself give that away. “Red eyes” like someone who is high would have, the fact it escalates in the lyrics from wanting to kiss to wanting to fuck as a metaphor for how quickly addiction can hit you. And leaving you to rot is withdrawls. Also, the imagery in this is genius because it adds even more meaning. The fact that the red eyes go away shows diminishing returns in a way, and the other guy she accidentally killed could be another person who was addicted. The fact he went back shows he was addicted, and he thought he could be smarter with her than the other guy, like how people on drugs think they can be smarter than the countless others who overdose. But in the end, it hit him anyways. He wasn’t special.
