- The King, Sony WH-1000XM4 vs B&O Beoplay H95 VS Apple Airpods Max! My unbiassed, unscientific test/review who see who wears the crown of the new Active Noice Cancelling Headphones battle. It was getting too long and cut out a lot of information. But these three Headphones are great, and some just gives you more bang for your buck! What are your thoughts? How would you have scored them? Let me know below! Like and subscribe! Thanks for watching! My apologies for the audio levels... I was exhausted and working on fumes.

Finally! H95 vs Airdrop max
As someone who has owned the AirPods max (four times lol) and I currently own and use the h95, the h95 are most definitely superior to the AirPods max. When you time the eq, they come alive, they do not fall apart unless you tune them wrong. Do they sound $850 good? No. Do they sound $300 better than the AirPods max? No. But they are noticeably better than the AirPods max but so are the BO HX which I also own and use (but I use the h95 the most). The problem with the AirPods is the curve. It is tuned too heavily for the bass. You can definitely hear the beats in them but the bass is incredibly well controlled.
If money is no object, the h95 is the way to go. If you want the best audio quality for about $500, get the BO HX. If you want nc and quality for about $500, then most definitely get the AirPods.
Thanks for the insight! What do you think about the HX vs H9? Have you ever tried to compare HX and H9?
@@patricksimanjuntak4830 yes I have. I’m afraid there really is no comparison. The hx are pretty similar in sound to the h9. The h95 are far better, but not worth quadruple or triple the price by any means.
That being said, I recently got a pair of Dali IO-6. I got rid of my H95 pair. The IO-6 is richer, sharper, more accurate, and FAR greater sound stage than the H95. The H95 have a more “thump” like the AirPods max. I did kind of like that. But it wasn’t accurate. The IO-6 are unbelievably controlled throughout the entire range and the bass is incredibly accurate and tight.
How is the bass on the IO6 compared to the H95?
@@topiputi8027 very different. H95 resonates and is a little bass heavy. IO6 is extremely tight and controlled and accurate. What is impressive about the bass with the io6 is that it is consistent throughout the entire range. Always accurate and never muddy or incorrectly pronounced. H95 is more like the AirPods max with their bass. Io6 is more like studio headphones but there is most definitely bass and you do “feel” it per se. It just isn’t over the top like the h95 or AirPods max. Don’t think the io6 has no bass from what I’m saying.
@Matthew Schwartz thanks for your answer. When you compare them listening to Boz Scaggs Thanks to You. How would you describe the deep bass parts?
Thank you for your honest opinion and I believe everything you say. Nice video
Great review! Thank you very much. What i would like to also know is how much of an effort it takes to clean those pricy headphones.
I had a few expensive headphones like the Focal Clear Professional which are far more expensive to keep them clean if compared to the hefty price tag.
Also sharing a bit of the driver/DAC which is build in the headphones would be pretty helpful as well as the music format you have been listening to.
A MP3 won't have the same quality as a wav, flac etc.
Beoplay H95 is a league of its own. .!! theres no competion between h95 and the airpods tried both and went with Beoplay best money spent
Same. It’s a completely different league. Not sure how anyone would think APM sound comparable.
Where did you get the Beoplay from?
@@nipunsharma5351 through a B&O distributor or ebay.
The EQ for B&O works great and I wish the headphones got louder but I've never had any distortion, just clear sound where I can hear the different instruments. While the bass doesn't get crazy I'm a bass player and if you use the EQ the bass is absolutely lovely! Much cleaner than Sony, I have tried apples
Same. I love them. My only complaint is they don’t sound $350 better than the HX. The $350 is really in a bit of quality and a lot of better fit and a lot better nc.
Nice video !
Thumbs up both hands 👍👍
And here is my personal opinion.
Craaaazy detailed and clean sound👌🏻
Amazing !
So ?
Do we need it ?
I mean really need it ?
There is a 200€ headphones and they sound fantastic.
There is 500€ headphones and they sound even better than fantastic.
There is headphones for around 1000€ and with them you can hear the car alarm outside the studio during the recording session.
BUT DO WE REALLY NEED THEM ???
Before start arguing with me,
I am a professional musician with master degree and more than 25 years of experience in different professional opera-symphony orchestras ❕
So basically hearing IS MY thing !
It's MY job !
But if I and my colleagues are totally satisfied with headphones for around....okay, let's say 300€ and let me say something else,
I am a orchestra player, but some of my colleagues are even composers and conductors and we all still are totally satisfied with something like Sony XM4/5 or Bose 700 and etc.
So do YOU really need a pair of crazy high end headphones ?
I am talking ONLY about the sound quality !!!
Of course if ,,you" want go showing off or just the money are NO object for you, of course, buy what you want !
It's your money 😉
But if we talking ONLY about the sound quality and ,,you" need a pair of headphones for listening most of the time some rap ,,music" or some kind of lady gaga songs then every single pair of headphones between 150-300€ will do the job perfectly 👍
Or the long story short:
Do you need a Lamborghini if you are not a professional driver and your speed limit is 40 kmh. ?!! 😉
Thanks buddy ⭐️
Excellent job bravo !
Wow your camera is great. What are you using?
Thank you. Canon R5 and sigma 24 1.4 and canon rf 15-35.4K HQ mode, edited with the new MacBook Pro M1 (with ease). Cheers.
B&O is the most unique
So if they were all same price which one you will go for ?
The one with the highest score of course
I definetly disagree with the review on sound quality. The sound of the H95 is the best there will be for the next 5years. The Airpods Max are great for Hiphop & Pop, I agree, but not at all does the H95 lack in the base levels. The H95 do sound just perfect when it comes to soundstage etc. But we all have a different sense I guess - have a great week!
For me it‘s
1. H95
2. Airpods Max
3. Sony
I don’t think the H95 lacks bass. You must be used to warm headphones
I own both Sony and H95 and, in H95 noise canceling is PERFECT, Sony is noticeably worse. In H95 Bass is loud clear and tight much better than Sony's
That’s great! You are entitled to your opinion.
I like it and subed, too bad they out of stock
Also, the noise cancelling dial wobbles on teh H95 and feels cheap
which is the best?
Great comparison don’t have money for any of them 🤣
I think you’re H95’s are either fakes or bust. You’ve really done a disservice to B&O here. They’re heads and shoulders above the APMs - in both bass and sub bass.
i don’t like the airpods max case , the B@O case protects the whole unit including the headband
I feel like this review has some bias as he is using Apple devices when I am using Android and Windows, which means Apple Airpods Maxes aren't as good feature wise if you don't have an Apple device.
FYI, I am looking for a soft synching bag for my Max or have my daughter make it. They will fit my briefcase backpack better than my Sony w/case.
www.sfbags.com/products/airpods-max-shield-case
very well done cases for your Maxs, I use them for my H95 now
Hmmm.., I think you left out many departments where the Beoplays shine. I think its easy to dismiss them , given the price,. and that people mistakenly can think they don't sound as good.. which is absurd, The are exquisitely balance and that's not mainstream, but if they are not value, so aren't the Airpods. The would be IF they were same price as the SONYs.. !
I was looking for finally bc someone has the bang and Olufsen to compare
Have you bought it
@@nicomaichenitsch9047 chill your tits
@@nicomaichenitsch9047 I have both I would say the Airpod Max's are fantastic but as far a true headphones B&O is a tried and true beast!
I hate the name the Sony headphones why couldn’t they just name the thing they have iconic names like Walkman, PlayStation, Bravia, Xperia...... just give it a name every time I say it I feel like I’m sharing a wifi password
Lol
😂
I've bought the h95 today for $590 and tested the APM this week and i have to say. I think alot people will say the APM sounds better, becuase the bass is great and the transparency mode is incredible. For me who likes a more neutral and a bit more detaild sound the H95 is the better choice. I would recomment to test them if you've got the opportunity because even if there is more detail on the H95 you might appreciate the sound an practicallity of the APM.
Where can you get the h95 for $590?
@@blackflag8299 bought them on a bf sale in switzerland.
Just got me the H95 looking forward. Also the new Technics look interesting, just found out about them x)
I do not recommend looking for H95s for less than the retail prices. I bought a pair for less and I got a pair of super legit looking counterfeits, even the box and all the parts looked real, but the actual speakers were trash. So be careful. Thankfully I was able to resolve it and I bought a pair of real H95's and they are phenomenal.
I prefer to listen to my music playlist with LDAC or APTX HD. AAC just doesn’t cut it for me.
Hm
Build Quality 10: H95 7,5 Airpods (i would ruin the headband pretty fast, not water resistant) 5: Sony plasticy and not water resistant)
Value 10: Sony (ok sound, great anc), 7,5: H95 (maybe 100$ better, not twice the price) 5: Airpods (maybe 100$ better, not twice the price. No charger included)
ANC: 10: Sony 7,5 Airpods 5 H95
Features: None of the Apps give you a hearing test like Beyerdynamic or Skullcandy. Sony takes a photo of your ear, which doesn't compete with a hearing test. 10: H95 + SONY 7,5: Airpods (no on/of switch, saftey wallet that does not protect the item from scratches)(great compability if you are in the apple system, if not its not better than the others).
Sound 10 H95 clear sound, not given extra basse, so not for lovers of basse. 7,5 Airpods (great sound with added basse) 5 SONY (sometimes muddy)
H95 42,5 points; SONY 40 points and Airpods 35 points (hope the Airpods gen 3 that soon is on the market is better)
Great video comparison. Deserve much more views than your channel currently have.
There is a slight problem with the sound starting from 12:40 though. Your vocal sound was much lower than other points before that. Might be a point for future improvements.
Yes indeed. I couldn’t increase without distorting it. Microphone issues had me using two different microphones which created the difference in sound volume. I appreciate the feedback.
I love my AirPods max..it is having some connectivity issues hoping to resolve or exchange in future but it's a great headphone.love to try the h95 if they become more cheaper
This guy do really review not like apple fun youtuber
Got all of them and 100% B&O are the best value for the money! They’re different league to be fair, AirPods Max come close but not quite … Sony ones are absolutely the worst muddiest headphones I’ve ever had … But hey if you like muddy sound go for them, otherwise you’ll get what’d you pay for …
Utterly biased video.
APM, then Sony, THEN B&O ....WHAT???
I have watched so many reviews and comparisons. For this outcome to be accurate or even possible, he must have heard what is entirely different from anyone anywhere else in the world.
He even gave them points for integrating into the apple ecosystem. WHAT?
Look, Bias is not a criminal offence. People are allowed to be biased. We have learned, and we like what we like. It is not a bad thing. It is a REAL thing. Bias is a thing, and it is not a crime.
However, being this biased and claiming to be balanced or objective is not just a stretch; it is reality distortion.
Haha.
I watched this video several times to see if I got something wrong, but no - the bias towards APM and against the B&O was more evident after the first listen.
I watched it as a video, then listened to it as if it was just audio - to see if the visuals made me react.
No.
This is just an incredibly biased review.
I wouldn't care, but the number of times he claims not to be biased is such a giveaway. Others don't keep trying to convince you that they are not limited.
He knows he is biased but doesn't know how much.
Utterly so - no crime and he has every right to be - however, this is NOT a balanced review regardless of what he says.
Well daym I’m digging the one with the square metal case. Since I have an iPad might as well stick with the apple AirPods Max Headphones 🎧 because of the many features that comes with it. If worrying about the price tag is the only thing I have to worry about, then I’ll get it. Because from the many reviews I’ve seen so far on these AirPods not one tech person really complained about the sound, it’s just the price tag 🏷 excellent video you whipped the hell outta this AirPods Max Headphones Review! I’ll be purchasing them soon.
Lemme tell you something. The b&o h95's battery does not last 15 hours after a few months of use, airpods max sounds like tin can compared to h95, and sony is just a plastic toy for kids. But, the H95 has great longevity and is built to last, unlike the others, which would fall apart like plastic junk or outdated in 3-4 years.
Super comprehensive comparison bro. Following you for more great reviews.
H95 is much better. Sound quality, build quality, look, features, eq mixamp etc, is much better than Apple and Sony. Sorry, but youre wrong in youre review about these products
Actually I find the Sony’s bass to be exaggerated and not refined. Feels like it’s punching air into my ears other than a good bass. And when it comes to vocal, separation and clarity, AirPods max is much worse than H95. Like they’re not even in the same tier. But I guess everyone hears things differently.
Irrelevant
You’re right
If you use Apple Music, try the preset EQ settings to alter the listening experience too. Good review.
I agree 100% with what you said abt the h95s. Extremely disappointed with the sound quality. Especially since the beoplay ex buds sound so good.
lol this is how u know u don't know anything abot sound besides bass
I dont know men since your video has bad quality of sound!
It's because it was recorded using the H95.
For those thinking about getting the Bang & Olufsen H95s, do not buy them for less than retail, you will end up with a counterfeit pair, especially if you buy off Amazon. There are a lot of counterfeit H95s out there right now. They look super legit but they have cheap. drivers/speakers in them. Be very careful cause counterfeiters know B&O is the hot take right now.
That said, definitely go for the H95s, I finally got a real pair and they are unbelievably phenomenal, super deep and rich bass that packs a real punch and high end clarity like you wouldn't believe. BUT! You gotta do yourself a favor and start listening to stuff wired, with a DAC like the Fiio BTR5, and you gotta listen to CD or above quality music, normal streaming won't cut it, Spotify doesn't do Hi-fi quality sound, not even CD quality. You gotta go big or go home.
When you do finally go big, and you got your DAC and 96khz 24bit music, in a pitch black room laying down with H95s, it's like being transported to another dimension. It's so wild...
Just picked up a pair in the U.K. for £549 from a B&O dealer, they are having a sale until the 13 online and in the shops. Also got it confirmed from B&O direct via e mail that you can increase or decrease the soundstage by expanding the circle in the EQ App with your fingers.
Very strange and bizarre that’s not mentioned in the brochure that comes in the box or the one you can download from their website.
Fantastic quality built headphones and loving mine, they sound awesome playing via some of my Dap’s via Bluetooth.
@@anthonyberryman3443 I'm so glad you mentioned the expandable EQ circle in the app for the H95s. I randomly noticed it in one of the online PDFs when I was looking for something else entirely. It's interesting that the same feature doesn't exist for the Beoplay EQ earbuds.
The more I learn about B&O, the more committed I become to ensuring my entire home and my cars are 100% B&O ecosystem.
Also, congrats on getting an official B&O dealer sale like that! If you don't have a pair of the EQ earbuds and you've been thinking about it, I highly recommend them.
I don't think they make fake h95. I've never seen them.
@@LouisFarraconn Yes, I don't believe things exist which I've never personally seen either, perfect logic.
@@thebluriam Or we should just believe you, because you say so. Lol, I looked up "real vs fake beoplay h95" and your review on is about the only thing that popped up. Why? Because there isn't a market for fake H95's. It doesn't make sense for them to because they don't carry a big enough market. I actually agree with the main points you say about the H95 and their sound separation and clarity and whatnot, but wow, you have diarhea of the mouth. But what really bothered me, is you said you were going to go more into detail about your counterfeit nightmare at the bottom, but never got back to it. I know for a fact there are many counterfeit products out there, the Beoplay A1 being one of them, but the h95 is not on that list. Or maybe you were just the lucky one person in the world that received a fake pair made specially for you. With that said, you can get plenty of deals on H95's less than retail and have them not be counterfeit.
FYI, expect Apple to drop a lot more capabilities for the Max next year. Expect new Apple TV to allow the brilliant spatial audio. FYI, my AirPods Pro began to become my go to air travel headphones prior to COVID. My Sony’s M3 had been but the AirPods saved tons of bag space. I expect to see a lot of Maxs in Delta Sky Club when I resume travel next year.
I have Bang and Olufsen H95 they are built like a Rolls Royce and sound Fantastic wireless however especially so when you connect them to a Bang and Olufsen music system
U use mine as a convenience wireless headphone and for indoors serious listening plugged into my Beocenter 2
I like your honest review and I respect your opinion. Thanks
I have both and I say the Airpods max are the best Party-trick headphones.
Best noise canceling. Best connectivity (although at times buggy).
However... i found in sound quality it’s not even comparable. The H95 sound so much more refined and balanced. The bass basically never distorts no matter what you throw at it. Everyone I had over who had the direct comparison with some high definition music had the same reaction.
The battery life is in a league of its own. I ended up returning my APM.
+1 exact same story.
The bass on the h95 is incredibly impressive. It is there yet so controlled and perfect.

I bought Apple Airpods Max, but returned them since their "huge" disability to reproduct low Hz, which was a pitty, because "hey siry" is something that I will miss, but really - the sound of Apple Airpods Max is really "shallow" for me. :(
I’ve watched so many reviews and they all say AirPods max sound the best and they are expensive
I have both H95 and Max. The low ends is great on H95 in my opinion, better than AirPods Max. The bass is probably not as boomy as AirPods Max, but it goes down to lower frequency. I could feel my ear drum being punched with H95 but not with AirPods Max
I find the H95 to have much better clarity and separation than AirPods max too.
That’s really interesting because I’ve had two different H95s and the bass is really poor. They distort on the low end and that’s the general consensus that they do not emphasize bass a lot. But every one’s ears are unique and you are entitled to what you like.

Great review.
Excellent Job !
Philips TAH 8506 is on sale for around 80€ and it's totally on paar with the Sony XM4 if we talking about sound quality.
I have h95, they dont distort at all at high volume. They dont get as loud as other headphones thought. The bass, mids and highs are crystal clear with awesome separation and soundstage. Their noise canceling and transparency is worse than the Sony and APM.
HI Friends, Happy New Year 2022... I am puzzled because I am both using a MacBook Pro 2019 and a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. I don't know which one is best for both platforms without having to purchase two different Headphones.
No way is the APM better than the H95.
Finally a worthy comparison!
Great detailed honest review thank you 🙌
I never use the case for my Bose QCs in my house and haven’t for years. I still think that is the most comfortable ANC headphone, well and the AirPods Pro.
The case is used for travel
I was so excited when i got Beoplay h95, but i was so disappointed. The wind noise you hear while wearing them is absolutely dreadful, even if its almost no wind outside...
Mayby you suffer from tinitus ;) I hear zero wind noise on H95

Hey, have you ever heard real instruments? I have H95 headphones and I have to say - they are a little overexposed regarding bass.I have to reduce the bass and trebles on them a bit. But you are talking about bass lacking! Really? Tell me please what was your last acoustic concert that you attended? No real instrument can produce such a huge amount of bass that can H95 produce! But you want more and more and more... It is way out of reality. Please stop comparing headphones sound. Start comparing how sound connects with real instruments and sounds from real life.
Are the h95 good for R&B? Pop? How loud do they get? Just returned my AirPod max and waiting for the h95 to arrive.
I thought the H95 were neutral. I’ll be returning them if they have too much bass.
@@urbanistgod how are they

Idk what this dude is talking about. My h95s are absolute bass monsters. I have to turn it down a little. I’ve never heard the low end on a pair of headphones like my h95s.

No need for insults because someone shares a different opinion than you. H95 are fine as well, AND I still have both. I had the first h95s replaced by B&O because of the sound, what you see in the video are actual brand new replacements from them. Because I find the max better doesn’t diminish what you love so much. Don’t be in your feelings and reduce yourself to insulting me. It’s okay. Life will still go on.
