    I know you mentioned facial hair and stubble, but I think the hair in general makes a huge difference. From the images you chose for the titlecard, you can see that the season 1 sideburns were quite rounded and the hair around the temples was brushed forward making it look fluffy, both of which soften his facial features. For season 3 the hair around his temples and his sideburns create more defined shapes, making his bone structure (cheekbones, etc) appear sharper. As a woman, I should say I don't necessarily find season 3 Colin more attractive than seasons 1&2, it's just a different type of look: in S1&2 he looks softer and sweeter, in S3 he looks sharper and stronger - so it just depends what people are trying to achieve. And like you say, attitude can make a huge difference to how people are perceived.

      Yes for sure, the hairstyle makes a difference. The producers knew what they were doing, considering season 1 and 3 were only 3 years apart it looks like a boy to man transformation (and he was 28 in the first series!)

      Re the energy/attitude glow-up, Luke Newton also said he did a “movement” class with the show’s choreographer that helped him to walk more “like a tiger.” Sounds a bit silly, but in fact I think this metaphor really is visible, and it works!

      @@MindiB it’s crazy to think the amount of work that goes into it, but it all helps for sure!

      I agree with the rest but I definitely only considered Colin attractive in the third season. I was starting to think, how I will enjoy s3 (technically s4) if he isn’t attractive to me ?

      Colin of season 3 has an edge, but in season 1 I wouldn’t have said so…

    I think age also makes a big difference, 25 to 31 I think we do change a lot.

      Yes that’s a great point, it’s easy to forget the time between seasons, boy to a man

    The looks maxing effect 😂 but once again the power of upper body gains definitely no dad bod but no bodybuilder but great point the confidence is also the big player

    The glow up is from a boy to a man. He doesn’t seem so boyish anymore. Plus they evolved his style, his hair, clothes etc. Yes he is more muscular. However, this level of analysis is not what men need or deserve. This is my opinion as a woman.

    • @jasonampadu
      @jasonampadu  23 дні тому +1

      He was a man is season 1, he’s online 31 now so he would have been 28 or so when season 1 was released. You’re entitled to your opinion, but the things I listed are known things that women are attracted to.

      @@jasonampadu The character was 22 in season 1 and 23 in season 2. Not sure what his age is in season 3, because the books are in different order and there he marries over 30y old. But yeah the emphasis from my part was on boyish.
      Also the research mentioned is hardly valid with all women. That’s an oversimplification. I mean GQ is a men’s magazine, it’s like basing your opinion on a research by Cosmopolitan. But yeah, all good, I don’t think you made this too seriously. Some of the popular content for men just doesn’t sit right with me and that’s my problem✌️peace.

    The chest hair is also very appealing to women or I should say to some women. As not everyone finds a slip and slide attractive 😊

    The hunting theory is outdated. Men and women both were hunters and gatherers.

      But men rarely hunted. The more research comes out, the more obvious it becomes that hunter gatherers only ate meat occasionally. Men were opportunistic, not daily, hunters. It was not a special skill. Women would catch something if they could, just the same.
      The reason the upper body strength is still attractive is it represents health full stop- longevity, good breeding prospects, and, if you want to look at the brut strength angle- better ability to fight off challengers from other tribes.
      If you want to fetishise the alpha man angle you can do so within historically accurate parameters 😉
