This song really rocks along with a Bo Diddley best driving it along, wailing harmonica and lead guitar cutting loose and David’s singing is gorgeously bluesy with surreal lyrics. It would have been great to see live.
Genius ... that is all. Between 1967 and 1975 there was no single person on Earth more creative or inspired. The word ‘legend’ is bandied about far too much these days but is an apt description for this supremely talented individual. Rest in eternal peace.
I think he usually got what he wanted, and when Hermione left him for someone else, he was upset because he couldn't imagine anyone leaving him. It wasn't her so much as the fact he was rejected. I think!
