This is best beer channel with good experiments and variations.
Thanks 😊
Ok, I have now made this. I took your advice and doubled the artichoke leaves. I tasted it before bottling and found the rosemary was overpowering. After a few weeks in the bottle it has mellowed out and is now quite balanced. I find that it actually tastes more like cider than beer! I was pleasantly surprised.
Spectacular 🥳🍺 thanks for sharing your experience
Very good content! Thanks for sharin! Always wanted to know how these were made! Cheers!
Thanks 😊 please share the videos 😉👍🏼
Your doing an exceptionally great job here with the wine thing. You can incorporate things like salad cream, chocolates, ice cream, pasta, bread spreads, jam and tomato sauce with other Italian reciepe and productions for developing countries to learn for small scale industrial productions. People are hungry to learn new things everyday, likewise myself. Once again, a big thumbs up to you for your great work.
Thanks ☺️ check on the channel for ice cream ( gelato) and for mayonnaise
Wow! Maestro,I really learnt alot especially that of your fascinating Italian accent, it makes me feel like am in Milan or Cincinnati already
😂🥳 thanks
I am so happy I found this channel! Great videos!!
Thanks ☺️ please share the videos
Excellent video. I was curious about gruit and you explained the process very well. I haven’t made beer in 20 years but you have me thinking of doing it again. Thank you.
😉👍🏼 thanks 🥳🍺 me too I should start again
You may want to try Jaggery Ale:
1.2kg Pale Ale Malt
400gm Jaggery
200gm oats
20-25gm Goldings Hops
10gm Ale East
8L water
Final close to 7L Beer with 6% ABV. You may improve this better for the video ☺️

SPECTACULAR...GREAT VIDEOS
Spectacular 🍺
Yarrow, I bought a plant a few years ago. It's not hops but has a refreshing flavour and is the original gruit. I also use hops and in fact sometimes mix the two plants. Hops is expensive where I live. In fact it's the most expensive part of making the beer for me.
For dark beer I would recommend the toasted peel of an orange.
Thanks for the advice 🥳🤩👍🏼🍺
I was going to say you should keep your beer covered to keep it from getting "light struck."
But that only happens when you use hops! Haha
I will definitely try making a gruit beer :-)
Thanks for the advice 👍🏼 let us know when you try it 😉
Everything looks so spectacular beer cookies weather everything cheers
Thanks 🤩🥳🍺👍🏼
This video helped me prove a point that hops is not needed in beer. I am determined to make a stout with a vanilla bean and lavender finish.
Let us know when you taste it 🥳🍺
Ciao Dear. I’ve learned a lot of things from you. Grazie mille 🙏😘
Ciao 😀 grazie 😉👍🏼
Thanks for the video!
Nice option for the hops!
If he likes it, it has to be good!
Thanks 😊 but I prefer always the hops 🥳🍺
I do like Gruit brews, ive never brewed it, I buy it in the package stores. I never had gruit with artichoke leaves. Good job, great post. cheers I subscribed.
If you try it keep us updated
Excellent! This is so helpful! Thanks a lot. Just one question: the malt has to be grinded?
Yes 👍🏼 grinded
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato you think this could work just with wheat malt and oats as grains?
Yes 👍🏼
Great video thanks, I also replaced hops by fieno greco, artichaut and wild cardoon **** Love from Tunisia
Spectacular 🥳
I don't like hops for the estrogenic effects. Video was interesting. I like the juniper berries and want to try a beer with those.
Keep us updated with the juniper beer 🍺👍🏼😉
Very interesting, thank you!
Welcome 😉👍🏼
love it. artichoke is exddtremely healthy
Yes 👍🏼 thanks
Thanks!
Love from India.
Thanks 🤩 greetings from Italy 😉
You did a great job!!!!!
Thanks ☺️
Gruit is a combination of herbs, commonly including:
Common heather (Calluna vulgaris).
Ground ivy (Glechoma hederacea)
Horehound (Marrubium vulgare)
Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris)
Sweet gale (Myrica gale)
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
Gruit varied somewhat; each gruit producer included different herbs to produce unique flavors and effects. Other adjunct herbs include juniper berries, ginger, caraway seed, aniseed, nutmeg, cinnamon, mint, and occasionally hops in variable proportions (although gruit today is often sought out for lacking hops).
Thanks for the explanation 👍🏼
Hi, really enjoyed the video. I've ordered all the ingredients so I'll give this a try. How well does this keep? Will it go sour without the hops?
I will be sour without the airlock
Informative and entertaining as always.
Thanks 😊
hello from Ukraine! thank you for your channel and your recipes :) wish all the best!

that's great, thank you!
have you used mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) in gruit ale?🌿
No yet but maybe in the future, in Italy it’s not easy to find
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato it's a very commom weed in the fields, maybe you can find them, pick and dry them - newly picked mugwort can give bitterness, an interesting aroma + it is a dream-herb and makes your dreams more vivid 🌿
Thanks for the advice 👍🏼
Goooooooood....

Nunca ví que le agreguen romero y laurel. No sé si son esas plantas pero parecen. Interesante como quedó a pesar que no sanitizo mucho lo que utilizó. Y el azúcar la agrego con la mano 😯
Sorry 😞 I don’t understand
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato
I've never seen them add rosemary and laurel. I don't know if they are those plants but they seem. Interesting how it turned out even though I didn't sanitize much of what I used. And I add sugar by hand 😯... Traducción español-inglés
Thanks for the translation 👍🏼
Yes 😉 you can find many different recipes
Love it
Thank you .... of course i can use any malt for this recipe right . Like barely or corn???
And still i can use the same amount of water?
Yes 👍🏼
I'm planning on making a gruit, so I#m looking for different recepies and stealing what I think will work for me. Nice video!

Hello. How many times could one re-use the leftover yeast ?
In theory forever but if you take some infection ( if your beer is not good) you must start from new yeast
I certainly agree about the coffee.
You can't start anything without religiously taking a coffee.
😂👍🏼☕️ bravo
Thank you....

Is fresh bread yeast better then dry yeast for wine!? And how much grams should I add per little
No because the result is bad

Very difficult 😬 bread recipe probably are the only things or this ua-cam.com/video/A4Lzb3bLegs/v-deo.html
When you collect the yeast in the jar at the end of the fermentation.. do you use all the yeast that you collect for the next fermentations and must those fermentations be the same amount of litres as in this. ( 1 jar for 5 liters +/- )?
Also, what is your favorite hops?
1 tablespoon or 2 will be enough for 5 liters
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato thank you very much
hello mr when i need to bring Pilsner malt i make it in blander? broken it?
Yes but only broken, not flour
Hi.... If I add a pinch of sugar in bottle for fissy sparkling beer, will that bottle explode due to gas..?
Not if you follow the video 😉
You can add less than 10 g per liter
I have to do it :-) but one "but" - 500 years ago people did not know sugar, so if you want to do it in traditional way, you should use honey instead of sugar... Greetings from Poland :-)
Thanks for the advice 👍🏼
Is artichoke leaf a traditional Italian gruit ingredient?
No , in Italy is traditional making wine 🍷
Bravo!
Grazie mille ☺️
belissimo maestro :)
Grazie Igor 👍🏼😉🥳🍺
Excellent 👌 dude
Thanks 🤩
Very nice. But seems to be lot of work for a few bottles... but I wouldn't mind having a taste if you have any left ;-)
😂 you can make more 😉
Can we use wheat? I don't know if biscuit malt and pilsner malt is readily available in India.
i am no expert (yet :D), eg. i didnt brew any beer so far, but be sure that wheat will dramatically change the flavor profile of wort and subsequently of your beer. Personally Weiβbeer/Weizen (wheat beer) i like but probably it is not somehthing you are looing for as an outcome of this recipe
Yes but the result will be different, you can use any barley malt available in India, like pale malt
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato thank you. And thank you for the creme Brulee recipe as well. I will try it out over the weekend :)
Yes 👍🏼 different ingredients different taste

Is there a substitute for the artichoke leaves that is more common in Northern Europe?
You have to check the bitter herbs that are available in your country, probably hops is the best choice
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato Grazie! I learned that Myrtle is another option. But that seems very hard to get.
Yes 👍🏼 but you can use juniper berries
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato Thanks again! :D

14:34 what a great meme

I've been wondering, why put the hot water over the grain and separate? Why not bag the grain in cheesecloth and boil, then remove?
Yes, you can absolutely do that. The technique is called: Brew in a Bag, or BIAB for short. For these small batches, it is definitely a thing. For larger batches, the bag gets heavy quickly, but it works great for smaller setups.
Thanks for your help 👍🏼
