- Wilderness has for decades been challenged as a myth denying ancestral, contemporary and future human relationships with landscapes. Nevertheless, the idea of wilderness remains a deeply rooted metaphor, influencing the way wildlife health is understood. What might conservation look like if we let go of this myth, and what might take its place?
Two extraordinary First Nations thinkers - Ngarrindjeri cultural heritage policy officer and Olympic boxer, Marissa Williamson-Pohlman; and acclaimed Wiradjuri poet and artist, Jazz Money - join Andrew Peters (WDA 2024 organising team) in discussion, to challenge his reliance on the metaphor of wilderness and to ask ‘if not wilderness, what then?’
