This was not the promise of Padmavati to Rana Ratan Singh ji, but this is our Rajput culture where women go down in fire when their men go for the last fight(Fight till death) to save them to be victim of war. I feel only women is victim of war, as so many women loose their Sons, Brothers, Fathers and Husband in war. Then they are taken by the Winning armies as their trophy. In History of Chittorgarh there were three Incidents of Johar. The Johar of Padmavati happened at 'Purvi Sati Darwaja" (East Sati gate) in Chittorgarh fort.
One of the best reaction ,there is no meaning of seeing the trailer without knowing the story ,many UA-camrs do the mistake. But u explained the context & reacted 👍🙏
@@tatumergo3931 Yes it is sad and terrible, but why did women do that? To save themselves from being enslaved by the enemies and raped and maybe tortured by them. Some women were pregnant and some were little girls. These enemies would do horrible things to them. Better to die and than being enslaved by the enemy. They also died in honor, bc they sacrificed themselves for their men and wanted to die as honorable married woman who didn‘t want to suffer and be touched by other men. An indian woman once said that back then they were known for necrophilia and by burning they would ensure that their bodies don‘t have to suffer after death. I don‘t like it, who does? I was literally in tears hearing these Women chanting the Magical war cry the golden words Jai Bhawani in chorus it just boosts your confidence to a level that even jauhar looks like a piece of cake
this is our history and most surprised the glorious events of all time, Jauhar was conducted several times in Rajputana. the women of the palace never did surrender before the enemy. After defeating of their king(Maharaja) they conduct this Jauhar.
Jauhar was done BEFORE Saka not AFTER the death of Maharaja. The armies would go out for the last time, saffron-clad and they would ensure the peaceful conduction of Jauhar in the early hours of morning. After sunrise, they would ride on for a final battle, smearing the ashes of their women on their foreheads. Jauhar was a sacred ritual, conducted with patience and in a respectful manner not rushed the way it is shown in this scene for dramatic effect. There was NO QUESTION of running as this ritual was sacredly guarded by their own army. The WOMEN would commit Jauhar FIRST and then the men would go for the final battle. This was done only when defeat was certain. And was done to avoid slavery and humiliation since for the Rajputs, their pride and glory are more important. Also, this would provide a sense of security to the men that their women wouldn't be mistreated if they lost and thus, they could go into battle with full focus and with nothing to lose. It would be a fight to death, since the enemy wouldn't be able to use their women and children for blackmail. You should read up on the description of Saka. It would be as if death had descended itself on earth, such was the fury of the Rajputi Saka warriors. 1 man would slay a minimum of 20 since they would go in the fight with full force and with nothing to lose. Read up history before commenting incorrectly. Get your sources and facts right. It's okay if you didn't know this before, since the movie portrays this, alongwith a lot of things, incorrectly.
