That’s also why the name of the stadium is Velodrome, “Vélo” means bike in French. Virage is a tribune positionned on the edge of the field. In every stadium are usually 4 tribunes: 2 virages and 2 latérales. Fans club in stade velodrome located themselves in the 2 virages. There a 2 fan clubs in the virage sud - South Winners and Commando Ultra 84 - and some more in the virage nord - MTP (Marseille Trop Puissant), Fanatics, Dodgers, CAOM (+ Yankee Nord Marseille currently forbidden).

hello men i will explain you the terms of VIRAGE . You have two VIRAGE in the stadium VIRAGE SUD (SUD=SOUTH) and VIRAGE NORD (NORD=NORTH) . The actual beef between PSG and OM? It was created by the medias actually. Back in the day, when Bordeaux was less of a big club, Canal+ (channel who owned the rights of Ligue 1 on TV) needed a big rivalry to have big numbers of views and develop a bit the league on TV. They fabricated a rivalry between OM and PSG. Over the years, it became an actual hate between the clubs because you just keep seeing that rivalry in medias. But it was only created by medias. It wasn't a rivalry based on proximity of cities, or a competition rivalry.

Hi Emeka, The virages is the tribunes of the stadium where you can find the ultras , there is the north one (Virage Nord) and the south one (Virage Sud). In Marseille there is several groups of ultras : South Winners / Dodger's / MTP (Marseille Trop Puissant = Marseille Too Powerfull) / Fanatics / Handifan Club OM / Club des amis de l'OM / Commando Ultra 84.

virage Depé...ne l'oublies pas, il a créé le commando Ultra 1/4 de virage Nord dans les années 80 et c'est à partir de là que notre culture de supporters s'est développée ...les jeunes prennent la suite des vieux des années 90 du virage Sud comme moi qui sont maintenant passés en Ganay mais qui sautent toujours ; qui ne saute pas est pas Marseillais . C'est grace à Depé que l'ambiance du Vélodrome est unique en France

The real beef between Paris and Marseille is the guy who made Marseille win the only Champions League in France = Bernard Tapie.
He was the president of Olympique de Marseille, the boss, he ask many president of french team to power-up their team to make a positive french competition and concurrency.
