- A review of the very light Hymer Ex i504 motorhome filmed at the Caravan Salon trade fair at Dusseldorf in September 2014. This is a vehicle I would very much like to own - find out why in the video!
I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my UA-cam channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow and others.
I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

Another really useful review. Thank you. Just a note, that small table in the toilet area probably makes an ideal baby changing area.
Thank you - nice to read!
Another nice one Alan!

A beautiful camper.I believe that if Hymer sticks to compact campers it will develop a niche in North America.
Alan, if you don't mind, but could you announce the price of these campers in your videos, thanks
nice review, thanks alan
Thanks Larry - I really like this vehicle!
thankyou their website needs this they need to sort it out people want to see videos like this. it's lot smaller inside that I thought though
I saw one of these at the NEC show last week and next to it was the MLT 570 also I’ve just seen your review of the Grand Canyon and if that would have been at the show I would have been even more undecided. They’re all very appealing and the build quality seems to be top notch but, class A or cab conversion or van conversion? so many things to think about🤔 Great reviews of all of the above Alan but out of the three build choices, which would sway the decision for you?
The problem with van conversion is insulation - they are never going to be as well insulated as motorhomes. Go for the MLT - I would if I had the cash!
Alan Heath thanks for your reply. I love the Ex i 504 but if I have the base as a Mercedes the price does go up quite a bit. The MLT 570 was the one I was really very interested in but the MLTP was 4050 kg. Due to a medical condition I’m no longer able to drive anything over GVW of 3500 kg but there does seem to be many options to get the vehicle weight down. Many more months of research to do. Many thanks for your thoughts. One more question I’m undecided as to which show to visit this year which do you think is the best one to go to Stuttgart, Düsseldorf or NEC and why?
Nick there are plenty of good vans under 3.5t so don't let that worry you. The German fairs are much bigger, Dusseldorf has the advantage of good weather being in August and September whereas Stuttgart is much more professionally done. I need to do a comparison of them in a film.
Okay I give up, if you don't like beds where do you sleep?
I would like: To have :)
